Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for a user to monitor and/or override a forwarded call. Typically, the forwarded call was initially an incoming call from a caller to the user and thereafter forwarded to a remote service system, such as a remote messaging system. The system and method determine a redirecting number from which the incoming call was forwarded. The system and method then initiates a second call to the user and a voice path is established connecting the forwarded call to the second call. Thereafter, the user is notified, for example, with a distinct ring at the user's telephone, of the option that the user may monitor and override the forwarded call. The system and method can also execute procedures to actuate the options elected by the user.

Abstract: A waste disposal device comprises a container having a top opening. The container provides access to an inner cavity that receives a bag with opened and closed ends. A pivoting lid closes/opens access to the opening. An actuation mechanism has a user-actuated interface. A linkage connected to the interface opens/closes the lid. A pair of jaws is connected to the linkage. The jaws move between a clamped position, in which the jaws close off a portion of the bag, and an opened position, in which the jaws are separated to allow waste to reach the closed end. The jaws and the lid are actuated concurrently by a single degree of actuation on the interface, allowing the lid to open and close while the jaws move from the clamped to the opened position, and back to the clamped position. A method for disposal of a waste object is also provided.

Abstract: A protective arrangement for preventing parts of the body from being trapped between at least two mutually relatively moveable parts including at least one strip which is associated with at least one part. There are provided in the strip at least two mutually spaced conductive elements extending in the longitudinal direction of the strip. An electronic sensor system serves to produce an output signal for a capacitance that is adapted to vary as a result of external influences. Due to the fact that at least one first conductive element sends out a signal which is received by at least one second conductive element due to the capacitive effect of the first conductive element and that the second conductive element is at substantially the same electrical potential as the first conductive element and likewise sends out the received signal, there is provided a capacitive crush protection arrangement which does not react to splashes of water or the formation of dew or frost.

Abstract: A method for job management in an HPC environment includes determining an unallocated subset from a plurality of HPC nodes, with each of the unallocated HPC nodes comprising an integrated fabric. An HPC job is selected from a job queue and executed using at least a portion of the unallocated subset of nodes.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to a compact optical assembly which improves collimation of light produced by multiple LED light sources in a light engine. A shaped primary reflector located over the light engine reflects the light toward a larger shaped secondary reflector. The shapes of the reflectors are selected to cooperatively produce a highly collimated light beam. Color mixing may be improved by providing a plurality of facets on the reflective surfaces of at least one of the primary reflector or the secondary reflector.

Abstract: A double layer woven fabric for use in various applications, including recreational applications such as pool covers. The fabric is formed by two layers of yarns secured together. At least one layer (and, in one embodiment, both layers) of yarns comprises at least two types of yarn of differing geometrical shapes that are preferably positioned alternately across the fabric. The yarns of one shape help to block sunlight while the yarns of the other shape help to ensure that open channels are formed through the fabric for water flow.

Abstract: In accordance with a particular embodiment of the invention, a method for geotagging an image includes receiving an image of a real-world scene. Location information may be received corresponding to the image. The location information may identify the location of the real-world scene. The image may be synchronized with the location information corresponding to the image such that a two-dimensional point on the image corresponds to a three-dimensional location in the real world at the real-world scene. A geotag may be received. The geotag may tag the image at the image at the two-dimensional point and provide additional information concerning the real-world scene. The geotag and the three-dimensional location in the real world at the real-world scene may be stored in a geotag database.

Abstract: Memory management of processing systems running in a virtual computer environment and of processes running in an operating system environment includes identifying a usage pattern of a page in memory. The usage pattern is identified by tracking operations conducted with respect to the page. The memory management also includes designating the page as a candidate for sharing when the usage pattern reflects that a number of updates made to the page does not exceed a predefined threshold value. The candidate page is allocated to a first process or virtual machine. The memory management also includes sharing access to the candidate page with a second process or virtual machine when content in the candidate page matches content of page allocated for the second process or virtual machine to an address space of the candidate page.

Abstract: A method of driving a light source includes; driving a plurality of light source strings in response to a plurality of driving signals, when a light source module having the plurality of light source strings connected in parallel with each other receives a driving voltage, detecting a detection voltage from channel input terminals of a multichannel current control part, wherein the multichannel current control part controls a resistance difference of the plurality of light source strings based on the plurality of driving signals, and controlling a level of the driving voltage via adjusting a current applied to a feedback terminal of a driving voltage generating part, wherein the driving voltage generating part generates the driving voltage.

Abstract: A computer program product for procuring information from entities in a network via an Input/Output (I/O) processing system includes a tangible storage medium readable by a processing circuit and storing instructions for execution by the processing circuit for performing a method. The method includes receiving, at a channel subsystem, at least one network topology information request from an operating system. The method also includes building at least one command request that includes the at least one network topology information request, and sending the at least one command request from the channel subsystem to at least one network entity. The method further includes receiving a response to the at least one command request from the at least one network entity by the channel subsystem, and forwarding the response from the channel subsystem to the operating system.

Abstract: Providing increased capacity in heterogeneous storage elements including a method for storing data including a write process writing to a memory and a read process reading from the memory. Physical characteristics of memory cells in the memory support different sets of data levels. The write process takes into account the different sets of data levels when writing to the memory. The read process first obtains data in the memory and subsequently determines how to interpret the data.

Abstract: A play set having a main panel section and a pair of side panel sections, each of which is pivotably connected to tile side lateral edges of the main panel section. When the play set is in a first orientation, the main panel section and the pair of side panel sections are oriented generally co-planar to each other such that the upper main surface and upper side surfaces define a play surface having a perimeter, and when the play set is in a second orientation, the side panel sections are adjacent each other and in a plane parallel to the main panel section to define a play set case. Abstract: The present invention relates to a leakage prevention straw, a method of manufacturing the leakage prevention straw, and containers employing the leakage prevention straw. In accordance with the present invention, the leakage prevention straw has an open-ended, hollow tube; an open-ended, hollow receiver sealably mounted on the tube; a valve assembly sealably engaging the receiver; and a resilient locking adapter disposed on the tube and lockingly engaging the valve assembly to secure the valve assembly in liquid seal engagement with the receiver. The valve assembly has a hollow, open-ended, resilient enclosure and a check valve disposed within the enclosure. Although the check valve is biased in a closed position, the check valve opens upon manual manipulation of the enclosure.
