  • Patent number: 8333780
Abstract: A surgical tool and method of operation are provided. The surgical tool includes an end effector, such as a surgical scissor. The end effector is coupled to an actuating mechanism having a clevis and a pulley. A cable engages the pulley and is attached to one side of the clevis. When one portion of the cable is pulled, the clevis is moved in a first direction causing the end effector to open. When a second portion of the cable is pulled, the clevis moves in the opposite direction and the end effector is closed. The system also includes a mechanism for changing the orientation of the end effector. Another embodiment includes a mechanism for actuating the cable and the end effector.

  • Patent number: 8333110
Abstract: The invention relates to a device that includes: a first chamber (3) for measuring a constant volume, and in which the fuel is injected; pressure (5a, 5b) and temperature (6) sensors associated with said first chamber (3); and a second measuring chamber (8) located downstream from the first, into which the fuel drained from the first chamber is sent. The volume of the second chamber (8) varies according to the movement of a piston (11), the movement of which is measured by means of a sensor (13). One or more additional measuring chambers (8a, 8b, . . . 8n) of variable volumes are connected in parallel with the second chamber (8) and also receive the fuel drained from the first chamber (3), the volumes received in said different chambers being added up to obtain the total volume supplied for a single injection step. The device can be used for high injection rates.

  • Patent number: 8335305
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for a user to monitor and/or override a forwarded call. Typically, the forwarded call was initially an incoming call from a caller to the user and thereafter forwarded to a remote service system, such as a remote messaging system. The system and method determine a redirecting number from which the incoming call was forwarded. The system and method then initiates a second call to the user and a voice path is established connecting the forwarded call to the second call. Thereafter, the user is notified, for example, with a distinct ring at the user's telephone, of the option that the user may monitor and override the forwarded call. The system and method can also execute procedures to actuate the options elected by the user.
