  • Patent number: 6685065
Abstract: The garment folding aid has two bed subassemblies that are laterally telescopically adjustable and retained in selected adjusted positions by detent mechanism. To the remote vertical longitudinal edge portions of the subassemblies there is mounted the lower mounting rails of hinges while the lateral opposite mounting rails of the hinges mount folder flaps. The web of each hinge which extends between its mounting rails resiliently urges the said opposite mounting rails to extend vertically upwardly, the webs being of a greater flexibility than the mounting rails. Hand hold openings are provided in the flaps to facilitate moving the subassemblies to adjust the width of the folding aid. Corner portions of the flaps on one longitudinal end of the subassemblies are cut at an angle to make the flaps more ergonomically friendly when moving the flaps during a garment folding operation.

  • Patent number: 6564885
Abstract: The drilling apparatus includes a safety sub mountable to the drill string outer end to retain the combination of an overshot assembly and an overshot adaptor extending within the drill string outer end during a drilling operation and preventing the drilling tool moving out of the drill string until the sub is removed. The overshot assembly has a fluid seal between the overshot tube and the drill string and a fluid bypass channel with/a valve for blocking axial outward flow through the channel when the overshot adaptor is separated from the overshot assembly and when connected thereto, retaining the valve in an open condition. When the overshot adaptor is removed from the overshot assembly, the overshot assembly is fluidly propellable to the bit end. A disconnect tool facilitates the removal of the adaptor from the sub.

  • Patent number: 6371205
Abstract: The grouting apparatus includes a tubular body, an outer end closure removably mounted to the outer end of the tubular body and a nozzle mounted to the inner end of the tubular body to form a container for grouting material. The tubular body has a landing shoulder seatable on a drill string landing shoulder. The closure includes an overshot coupling member and a head having an inlet passage opening to the tubular body. A piston and a sleeve are axially movable in the tubular body to force the grouting material out of the container, the sleeve blocking flow through the piston as the piston moves inwardly, but after abutting against the nozzle, opening a bypass channel from outwardly of the piston, through the piston and to the nozzle tube. Upon the sleeve moving inwardly relative to the piston, the fluid outwardly of the container may be pumped through the container to mix with the grouting material that was dispensed into the container prior to the container being inserted into the drill string.

  • Patent number: 6290608
Abstract: The golf club in a position of use of initially impacting a golf ball at ground level has a shaft that is joined to the hosel in a horizontal plane that is parallel to ground level and at an elevation that is the same as maximum vertical spacing of the toe from the ground level and thus the plane is at an obtuse angle to the shaft central axis. The club head includes a toe bar mounted to the club head main body rear portion and is of a greater height than its transverse width and thickness and has a center line that intersects the intersection of the shaft central axis and the shaft proximal end. The weight of the toe bar is about 15 percent to 25 percent of the total head weight and located more closely adjacent to the head toe than the head heel. Further the toe bar center line is about 2.75″ to 3.25″ from the shaft center line as measured horizontally along the head sole. The head has a balance point on a horizontal synchronized line at an elevation of normal impact with a ball.

  • Patent number: 5788401
Abstract: Joints for coupling the box and pin ends of drill rods and casings, particularly for the mineral exploration industry, have single start, helical tapered threads extending axially intermediate cylinder sections. The threads have frustoconical crests and roots with the taper being about 0.75 to 1.6 degrees. The threads are of a pitch of about 2.5 to 4.5 threads/inch, have negative pressure flank angles of about 7.5 to 15 degrees relative to a perpendicular to drill string central axis and clearance flanks of an angle of at least 45 degrees to aid in maintaining the joint in a coupled condition, even under overload, and facilitate joint make up. Also, the box and pin have shoulders tapered at about 5 to 10 degrees. Additionally, the pin crests have an interference fit with the box roots while the box crests are radially spaced from the pin roots to provide a rigid joint while leaving a space for debris and pressurized lubricant.

  • Patent number: 5775388
Abstract: A valve bag spout is mountable to a bag filling machine for being extended into the valve sleeve to discharge product into the valve bag. The maximum peripheral dimension of the spout filling tube is much smaller than the inner peripheral dimension of the valve sleeve while a wing assembly is mounted to the filling tube to have its wings extend outwardly of diametrically opposite sides of the filling tube in symmetrical relationship to the filling tube central axis. The wings diverge horizontally transversely outwardly in a rearward direction from the spout front discharge end portion. The front end of the wing assembly is circular while in a rearward direction gradually transitions to a flattened elliptical shape. The maximum height of the wing assembly is only slightly greater than the outer diameter of the filling tube and is much smaller than its maximum transverse horizontal dimension.

  • Patent number: 5704197
Abstract: Bag pick up and feed assembles pick up a flat folded bag from a magazine and direct the picked up bag to a bag positioner assembly, the feed assembly including a first set of rollers moved away from a second set before the bag is moved therebetween and thence together to feed the bag. The positioner assembly moves the bag to extend vertically for top edge portions being clampingly engaged by a carriage assembly and thereby forwardly conveyed to beneath a hopper spout. Bag top side wall portions of the clamped bags are spread by vacuum cups of the carriage assembly. Power operated linkage mechanism moves closed spout jaws downwardly between the spread side wall portions and thence open the jaws to spread the bag side walls as product is discharged through opening jaws to open the clamped bag.

  • Patent number: 5679072
Abstract: An emergency exhaust system is couplable to a vehicle for conducting exhaust fumes from the vehicle exhaust pipe to an enclosure ventilation system to be exhausted from the vehicle enclosure when the vehicle is normally parked when not being used. The exhaust system includes an elongated flexible hose assembly that is connected to the ventilation system and to an adaptor conduit which at its terminal end has a ring mounting electromagnets for magnetically attaching to a mount plate dependingly secured to the vehicle to have the vehicle exhaust pipe extend therethrough. An intermediate portion of the hose assembly is connected through a balancer assembly to a trolley movable along a rail in a forward direction as the vehicle moves to exit the enclosure. As the trolley moves adjacent to the rail front end, through automatic controls, the magnetic coupling to the mount plate is disengaged.

  • Patent number: 5601152
Abstract: A drilling tool, for example a core barrel inner tube assembly, includes a latch body mounting latches for movement into a latch seat to removably retain the assembly adjacent to a drill string bit end and to impart rotary movement to the latch body as the drill string is rotated. A spindle subassembly is connected to the axial inner end of the latch body, to in turn, mount a vibrational subassembly for imparting axial reciprocal movement to a core receiving tube as the drill string is rotated to facilitate entry of core into the tube. The vibrational assembly converts rotary motion of the spindle subassembly to axial reciprocal movement of the core receiving tube while the core receiving tube is not being rotated but is moved axially inwardly over the core.
