  • Patent number: 7536835
Abstract: A floor construction covered with ceramic tiles, in which a film-like plastic mat having support elements disposed in a uniform area distribution, hollow towards the underside, capable of support, projecting out beyond the top of the mat, is applied on the sub-floor. Channels carrying open water are formed between the support elements, and a water-permeable or vapor-permeable covering in the manner of a non-woven fabric or woven fabric is disposed on the support elements. The plastic mat is embedded and attached, supported in a still soft, hardening thin-bed mortar layer on the sub-floor, over its full area, in the region of its lower contact surfaces. The ceramic tiles are laid and attached on the covering in the manner of a non-woven fabric, directly, with a thin-bed mortar layer.

  • Patent number: 7538293
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for protecting an electrode during the resistance welding of workpieces, in particular sheet metal. Said device comprises a strip that is placed over the electrode and can be displaced in relation to the latter, a backing material of said strip having an electrically conductive coating. To improve the welding quality, the coating is applied to the opposite side of the strip from the electrode and consists of a material, whose hardness is less than that of the backing material of the strip. The soft, electrically conductive coating improves the transfer of current from the electrode to the workpiece, thus preventing weld spatter and improving the welding quality.

  • Patent number: 7535234
Abstract: An arc fault detector, as a stand alone device or in combination with a circuit interrupting device such as a ground fault interrupter (GFCI), protects from potentially dangerous arc fault conditions. The device utilizes a line side or load side series connected inductance having an air or magnetic core to generate the derivative di/dt signal of the arc current in the conductor. The derivative signal is fed to an arc fault detector where it is analyzed for the presence of arcing. The device can have two series connected inductors inductively coupled to each other such that the signal from one inductor is inductively coupled into the other inductor for coupling to the arc fault detector.

  • Patent number: 7533633
Abstract: The invention relates to the establishing of a connection between steam generator heating surfaces made of austenitic materials and a collector and/or distributor made of martensitic or ferritic materials or of a nickel-base alloy. In order to extend the expectation of serviceable life of the connection, the pipe nipple of the reservoir used as a collector or distributor is made of a nickel-base alloy and directly welded to the collector wall in such a manner that an axial gap remains between the connecting branch and the collector wall. In a connection of the aforementioned type between steam generator heating surfaces made of austenitic materials and the pipe nipple or the pipe nipple and the collector made of martensitic materials, the coefficient of expansion of the material of the pipe nipple has a particularly good effect upon the serviceable life of the entire connection.
