Abstract: A method for the production of wear-resistant edges for a keystone ring for internal combustion engines, involves forming a rectangular ring from a steel strip with a rectangular cross-section, grinding the ring edges and the outer circumferential faces to give the required profile and brushing the inner circumferential face, grinding the upper and lower ring edge to form the keystone ring, complete nitriding of the piston ring surface by a gas-nitriding process (GNS) to form a nitride layer, profiling the nitrided piston ring by grinding and lapping without machining the nitrided edges of the piston ring, stacking the piston rings on the parallel faces, coating the outer circumferential faces of the piston rings with a wearing layer, and grinding the nitrided layer of the faces in the stacked state such that at most a quarter of the total thickness of the nitrided layer is removed.

Abstract: The invention relates to an aluminium alloy used as a coating for surfaces subjected to extreme friction stress, with an aluminium matrix incorporating at least a soft phase and a hard phase, as well as a process for producing the coating. The soft phase and/or the hard phase is essentially finely distributed in the aluminium matrix (20) and at least 80%, preferably at least 90%, of the soft phase or soft phase particles (18) have a mean diameter of a maximum of 3 ?m. The aluminium alloy is produced by depositing it on the base (11) by a process of deposition from a gas phase.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for operating a diesel motor using a fuel that comprises vegetable oils or recycled vegetable oils. The fuel is withdrawn from a tank, filtered through a fuel filter and injected into the cylinders through injection nozzles by means of an injection pump. Any excess fuel is returned. The fuel is transferred from the tank via pressure-resistant fiber filters by means of a forcing pump to a storage reservoir, where it is irradiated ultrasonically. The fuel is sucked out of the storage reservoir by the injection pump and excess fuel is returned to the storage reservoir.

Abstract: A stacking puzzle has a substantially horizontal stationary base, a plurality of stacks of playing pieces of progressively larger diameters having bores therethrough and a plurality of upwardly extending pegs. The pegs include shared pegs for receiving playing pieces from two of the stacks and unshared pegs for receiving playing pieces from only one of the stacks. An object of the puzzle is to displace each of the stacks in the fewest number of moves by moving the playing pieces one at a time from peg to peg. A playing piece cannot be placed over a playing piece of the same or smaller diameter and a playing piece from a stack not associated with a particular unshared peg cannot be placed on that unshared peg.
Abstract: The invention relates to a gas cooling device for coke-oven gas containing condensing constituents. Said device comprises a gas conduit (6), through which the coke-oven gas flows, heat exchanger elements in said gas conduit that are traversed by a coolant and a spray device (2) located above the heat exchanger elements, the surface of the heat exchanger elements that faces the gas being wet by a liquid that is fed through the spray device (2). According to the invention, the heat exchanger elements (5) are configured as cooling plates (5), through which the coolant can flow and are combined with channel-forming spacers (7) to form at least one heat exchanger stack. The heat exchanger stacks are located in the gas conduit (6) with a vertical alignment of their cooling plates (5), the gas channels formed by the spacers (7) being sprayed from above by the liquid that emanates from the spray device (2) and being traversed by the coke-oven gas.
Abstract: Antenna for radio reception, which is disposed, for reception of frequencies above the high-frequency range, in a motor vehicle window, in an electrically conductive vehicle body, together with an imprinted heating field, which field extends into the vicinity of the upper window edge, and comprises horizontally disposed heating conductors and bus bars situated at the side edges of the heating field, for supplying the direct current for heating by way of high-frequency-insulating uncoupling networks, whereby at least one antenna is formed by means of connecting this heating field to an antenna connection contact, by way of a conductor. A rod antenna with an antenna connection contact in the antenna foot point, with electrical through-coupling of the reception signals into the vehicle interior, is present on the outer skin of the vehicle and affixed in the vicinity of the upper window edge, for the reception of signals both for low frequencies and above the high-frequency range.

Abstract: A mobile transportable electrostatic chuck for clamping thin wafers (12) without permanent connection to an external power supply unit is described. The mobile chuck allows a safe handling of thin substrates on existing production equipment because the size and thickness of the clamped substrate on the mobile chuck is similar to a standard wafer. The chuck is made from silicon wafers itself as base material (11) using an IC manufacturing processes. Bipolar electrode-unit-cells (10), combined into clusters (4) and linked to an integrated fuse (5), generate a non-uniform electric field with additional force components. Peak-electrodes (1) are introduced with the highest field density in the peak region and thus creating a three dimensional non-uniform electric field with each surrounding electrode (3). Quadratic or hexagonal electrode-unit-cells (10) enable the highest dense of unit cells, which effectively clamp wafers (12) in close proximity to the surface (8a) of the chuck at elevated temperatures.
Abstract: A sensor mounting mechanism that includes a base member adapted to be mounted to a structure and a base neck having a first end and a second end where the first end is adapted to be coupled to a sensor with a ball-socket coupling and the second end is coupled to the base member with a rotating coupling. The mounting mechanism provides fine and coarse adjustment means for adjusting the scanning area of the sensor such as an PIR occupancy sensor without the use of a tool. The sensor includes a detachable lens holder for easy replacement of the lens.

Abstract: A mobile bridge of great length is a support construction for at least one transport, which particularly avoids constraints and undefined stresses as a result of temperature variations and/or support lowering movements, for example, to the greatest possible extent. This will guarantee a statically definite system, is essentially accomplished in that the bridge, in its totality, forms a multi-member statically definite system in the vertical plane, and a statically definite continuous carrier in the horizontal plane. The bridge segments of the bridge are connected with one another, in articulated manner, exclusively in the vertical plane, and the bridge is supported by at least three bearing mechanisms of a type A, B, and C having different static valence. Each bearing mechanism of the type A, B, C is carried by a self-propelled, tip-proof traveling mechanism.
