Abstract: A method for enlarging the interference-free dynamic range of non-linear signal-processing components in receiver systems, in the conversion of input frequencies fin into output frequencies fout. According to the invention, at least one linear combination of at least one input frequency fin,t, fin,b and a fixed, predetermined oscillator fLOn of the components is calculated from the output signal of the component, for at least one output frequency fout,s, fout1,s, fouts,2, which combination is compared with any desired output frequency fout,t of the component, whereby the output frequency fout,s, fout1,s, fouts,2 is then recognized as a spur and eliminated from the output signal of the component, if the calculated linear combination corresponds to any desired output frequency fout,t of the component, within a frequency and power range that can be predetermined.
Abstract: A device for generating tunable light pulses has a non-linear optical fiber. The optical spectrum of femtosecond light pulses can be modified by this optical fiber, taking advantage of solitonic effects. In order to make available such a device, which makes it possible to vary the pulse energy and the wavelength of the light pulses independently of one another, an optical compressor precedes the non-linear optical fiber.
Abstract: A device for finishing woven denim textiles is described which, proceeding from unfinished goods, is supposed to be brought to predetermined reference values for finished width, skew and woof thread density. The device is supposed to be designed for continuous operation for regulating all three reference values. According to the invention, a stretching device, such as a rack or a loop dryer, and a shrinkage system for continuous throughput of the woven denim textile, are arranged one after the other. Directly behind the stretching device, particularly, at the same time, behind the shrinkage system, a single measuring device, preferably as an optical detector having a digital camera, is provided. The measuring device is designed, at the same time, for detecting the actual values of finished width, skew and woof thread density, and is supposed to be connected, in control circuits, with devices for achieving the reference values.
Abstract: The invention relates to a piston (1), which is comprised of an approximately circular cylindrical upper area (5) and of a lower area (6), having two hubs (7), which are set back toward the piston central axis (8) so that, in the upper area (5), recesses (12, 12?) can be made, which are open toward the lower area (6), in the vicinity of the hubs (7). In order to make relief cuts (13, 13?) in the area between the hubs (7) and the upper area (5), a salt mold part (15) is placed on the respective window insert (14). The salt mold part (15) serves to produce the recesses (12, 12?) as well as the relief cuts (13, 13?) when casting the piston (1) and is washed out after the piston (1) has been cast.
Abstract: In a fixing apparatus for fixing an optical connector to an optical cable having an optical fiber and wire members arranged around the optical fiber, the fixing apparatus includes first, second, and third holding members. The first holding member is adapted to be inserted between the wire member and the optical fiber. The second holding member is adapted to be disposed outside the wire members, the second holding member cooperating with the first holding member to tightly hold the wire members therebetween. The third holding member surrounding the second holding member and having an axial end portion adapted to be engaged with the second holding member in a rotation direction with respect to the optical cable. In addition, the third holding member has another axial end portion adapted to be connected to the optical connector.

Abstract: A connector for switching between the states of the connection and non-connection to a mating connector by a cam mechanism (6) movably installed in insulators (2, 3), wherein the cam mechanism comprises a first cam (6a) and a second cam (6b). The first cam is rotatable about an axis, slidable between first and second positions in a direction parallel with the axis, and energized toward the first position by an elastic member (8). The second cam is rotated in conjunction with the first cam to provide either of the connected state and non-connected state according to a rotating angle. The first cam comprises a locked part (6a2) engaged with the lock part (3b3) of the insulator in the rotating direction thereof when positioned at the first position and disengaged from the lock part when positioned at the second position.

Abstract: A one-piece, multi-shank contact spring for miniature plug connectors, particularly for high-frequency signals, having a region that contacts a plug-in lead. The contacting region (A) extends all the way to the free end of a plugged-in plug-in lead.
Abstract: In a ski, jumping ski or snowboard comprising a running surface lining, a top layer and several layers disposed between the running surface lining and the top layer, the running surface lining and the top layer having an external face facing away from the core, at least one of the external faces has an at least partially structured surface with a plurality of recesses. The recesses have a depth smaller than the thickness of the running surface lining and the top layer, and an annular rounded transition region surrounds the recesses, the rounded transition region having an arcuate contour which is convex relative to the external face.
Abstract: A baton holder consisting of at least one portion comprising the means adjustable into an opened position for insertion in and withdrawing of a baton from the holder and into a closed position for fixing the baton in the holder where the holder comprises an outer portion and an inner portion mounted for longitudinally motion in the outer portion along the longitudinal axis of the holder whereby the outer portion and the inner portion are provided by mutually cooperating elements (21, 24; 11, 14) permitting the inner portion to open in the opened position of the holder and to close and fix the baton body in the closed position of the holder. The inner portion consists of a cradle (2) having a generally opened cylindrical outer surface (201) and a cylindrical inner surface (20) and the outer portion consists of an opened elongated body (1) having a generally internal cylindrical surface (10) to support said cradle (2).
Abstract: A two-part piston for an internal combustion engine has a piston head and a piston skirt. The piston head has a piston crown on the underside of which at least two boss lands, each provided with a head boss and a head boss hole are connected. The piston skirt has at least two boss bodies, each provided with a skirt boss and a skirt boss hole. When the head and skirt are joined, the head boss holes and skirt boss holes are flush in relation to each other for accommodating a gudgeon pin. Each boss body has a recess in which the corresponding boss land is accommodated with the associated head boss so that the head boss hole and skirt boss hole are aligned flush relative to each other.

Abstract: The zone of weakening, which is designed as a slot (6a), is bordered by film material (7) on both sides according to length, i.e., across the direction of loading, which is indicated by the arrows F. Tearing (8) which progresses from the edge because of microscopic damage comes to a standstill at the slot (6a) at the latest, because stress peaks are dissipated here and the locally increased stresses are diverted into elements of the film material (7) which are under less stress. Other embodiments include a locally interrupted adhesive layer for separation of an upper film layer from a lower film layer, these two film layers being otherwise glued together. The adhesive-free recesses here constitute zones of weakening in the sense of the present invention. This therefore prevents tears from spreading from one film layer to the next. Furthermore, the propagation of tearing is counteracted due to the dissipation of stresses when a tear that forms in the film layer reaches the zone of weakening.
Abstract: A security system for powering and displaying a handheld electronic device includes a stand assembly mounted to a support and a housing removably mounted on a top portion of the stand assembly. The handheld electronic device is secured to a top portion of the housing and a sensor is coupled to the handheld electronic device. The sensor produces a detectable signal if the handheld electronic device is moved from an authorized state. A switch is disposed on the top surface of the housing and indicates whether the handheld electronic device is in contact with the housing. An output voltage controller controls an output voltage to the handheld electronic device which can be set only when the switch indicates that the device is not in contact with the housing. The output voltage is set to zero if device is not brought into contact with the housing within a predetermined time.
