Abstract: A liquid dispenser comprises a sprayer device and volume meter connected together to form an integral unit that prevents the sprayer device and volume meter from being disconnected without damaging the dispenser. The volume meter has an inlet end portion and a gauge member downstream of the inlet end portion that responds to liquid flowing through the dispenser to provide a visual readout indicating the volume of liquid flowing through the dispenser. A common passageway extends through the sprayer device and volume meter through which liquid flows from the inlet end portion of the volume meter, past the gauge member, and exits the sprayer device at a head end thereof.
Abstract: A bed base includes four side members oriented to stand upright on their lower edges. The side members are connected to form a rectangular support structure by corner connectors. Each corner connector comprises a top plate, a bottom plate, and a post. The plates overlap the upper and lower edges of the adjacent side members forming an individual corner. The post extends between the top plate and the bottom plate, pulling these plates towards each other to press the top and bottom plates firmly against the edges of the adjacent side members forming the corner.
Abstract: Pliers having, for example, needle-nose and blunt-nose heads are manipulated using handles connected to pivot and move between a needle-nose head, grip-ready, position and a blunt-nose head, grip-ready, position. Each handle has a stop member having two faces. One face of each stop member is adapted to abut a needle-nose head and the other face is adapted to abut a blunt-nose head.
Abstract: An aspirating device for an eye includes a tubular member having a predetermined length that enables the tubular member to fit into an open eye and to rest on the surface of the eyeball adjacent one of the eyelids. The tubular member has one or a plurality of spaced openings therein along its length that allow liquid on the surface of the eyeball to be drawn into the tubular member upon the application of suction to the tubular member.
Abstract: A jack includes a base having a pair of spaced apart side members with a substantially horizontally oriented platform overlying a forward portion of the base. A pair of support arms pivotably connect the platform to the side members, and a lift arm is pivotably connected between the platform and the side members. A driver assembly mounted to a rear portion of the base in response to manual actuation moves the platform between a lowered and a plurality elevated positions while maintaining the horizontal orientation of the platform.
Abstract: A method and device is disclosed for displaying a plurality of tools on a point-of-sale display. The device may comprises a pair of support members, each retaining a tool such that one tool partially obscures the other while allowing a customer to properly identify each tool.

Abstract: A method of putting a ball calls for a golfer to use only one hand (29?) or both hands to grasp a putter (10?). The golfer grasps a grip (12?) of the putter (10) with one hand so that the proximal end of the grip extends above his wrist (25?) in one embodiment, and to or above his elbow (29?c) in another embodiment. In both embodiments the proximal bears against the arm associated with this one hand (29?). The golfer stands upright to one side of a target line (14?a), with his body facing in the same general direction as the target line and both his feet (35?, 36?) on the side of the target line and pointing in the same general direction as the target line (14?a) and positioned nearby the ball (15?). Most of his body is on the one side of the target line (14?a) and the arm (29?a) from which the hand extends is the arm (29?a) furthest from the target line (14?a).
Abstract: A dental hygiene device comprises a cup member including an attachment member that enables the device to be attached and detached to a suction tube adapted to be inserted into the mouth of a patient during polishing of the patient's teeth. The cup member holds a tooth polishing material that is accessed by a dental hygienist during polishing of a patient's teeth.
Abstract: A medical syringe employs a capsule containing multiple doses of medication within a sealed storage chamber formed between concentric inner and outer walls. The inner wall forms a cavity including a delivery chamber from which a single dose of medication is ejected. The syringe includes an ejection port, an axial moveable plunger extending into the cavity and delivery chamber, and a body with a compartment that holds the capsule. With the plunger in a first position, the capsule is closed. With the plunger in a second position, the delivery chamber is filled with a single dose of medication. With the plunger in a third position, the single dose of medication is ejected from the delivery chamber though the injection port.
Abstract: A tape measure device has an elongated blade with a central concave-convex segment with at least one planar segment adjoining edgewise the central concave-convex segment to form a junction that extends substantially along the entire length of the elongated blade. During formation of the blade the junction is annealed to avoid formation of a flaw or incipient fracture along the junction.
Abstract: A tool employs a connect-disconnect coupling for a power drill to hold a multi-functional bit having at its one end a drill element adapted to form a hole and a countersink and at its other end a driver element to drive a screw or other type of fastener.
Abstract: A coupling used during testing of a water line including an upstream pipe and a downstream pipe connected by the coupling. A removable barrier disk prevents water from flowing through the connected pipes until after testing, when the disk is then detached from the body member of the coupling. A piercing assembly interacts with a groove near the perimeter of the disk to initiate a tear that propagates along the groove as the disk is pulled away from the body member of the coupling. The piercing assembly is attached to the disk by a fulcrum element offset with respect to a center of the planar disk.

Abstract: A front loading refuse vehicle includes at least one positive displacement pump having an associated valve system in fluid communication with drive mechanism that operates a lifting arm, packer, a rear door of the vehicle, and a hoist for a refuse storage body. The valve system includes at least one closed-centered valve with a spool mechanism having a pressure compensator to maintain a constant flow rate of fluid through the valve regardless of differential in pressure across the valve for any given position of the spool mechanism. Two pumps with two separate hydraulic control systems are used with a side loading refuse vehicle. An electrical/electronic control system including a microprocessor operates the valve systems for each vehicle.
Abstract: A cable puller has on its actuating lever an elongated grip with an ergonomically friendly shape that directs a user to use both hands placed side by side on the grip when manipulating the lever.
Abstract: A device implanted in an eye of a patient suffering from glaucoma includes a valve seated in a pocket of a plate. The pocket includes a flexible, resilient top wall forming at least a portion of a topside surface of the plate. A channel in communication with an outlet of the valve has a open top that allows aqueous humor flowing from the outlet of the valve to flow onto the topside surface of the plate.
