Abstract: When image shooting is performed in a mode that records plural images in response to a single shooting instruction and deletion is instructed on a shot-image confirmation screen that displays the shot image data immediately after the shooting, the plural image data generated by the same shooting instruction are all collectively deleted. On the contrary, in a playback mode, when deletion is instructed to one of the plural image data shot by the same shooting instruction, only the one image that has been instructed for deletion is deleted. This feature improves usability of the image sensing apparatus capable of recording plural images in response to a single shooting instruction.

The image-taking apparatus comprises a main body, a lens barrel provided on a front face side of the main body, an illumination unit which illuminates an object and is provided on the top face of the main body. The front face of the illumination unit is arranged at a position closer to the object than the front face of the main body. The apparatus further comprises a sound input/output portion. In a direction orthogonal to the bottom face of the main body, at least a part of the sound input/output portion is provided in an area between the periphery of the lens barrel and the illumination unit on the front face of the main body.
Abstract: This invention enables deleting and protecting a part of sensed image data in accordance with a situation so as to enable efficient utilization of a finite capacity of a storage medium. To realize this, an image subjected to deletion from the image data stored in a storage medium is selected and displayed in a display unit of a digital camera. If a region of interest (ROI) is set in this image, a user is asked to select the ROI, non-ROI region, or entire image as the deletion target, and the designated region is deleted from the storage medium.
Abstract: In an information processing apparatus which executes a first module, a second module, and a third module for mediating a call from the first module to a function in the second module and obtaining the log of processing in the second module, the third module determines operation condition of the initialization processing when a call from the first module to a function associated with initialization processing in the second module is detected, executes the function associated with the initialization processing in the determined operation condition, and notifies the first module of the execution result.
Abstract: An image pickup apparatus has a display unit which is movably coupled with an apparatus main body 1 through coupling portion 5. The display unit has fastening members 21 and 22 for fixing exterior members 3 and 4 of a casing 2 of the display unit. The apparatus main body 1 has a concave portion 8 into which predetermined portions of the exterior members 3 and 4 can be loosely inserted. A movable range of the display unit is widened by the concave portion 8, thereby enabling the fastening members 21 and 22 to be operated. Thus, the image pickup apparatus and an electronic apparatus in which handling performance including a disassembling work and the like of the display unit can be improved are provided.
Abstract: An image extracting method that can efficiently extract a predetermined number of images from a large amount of image data and improve user operability. Evaluations for a plurality of images are input. A predetermined number of images are extracted from the plurality of images based on the input evaluations. In a preferred form, the evaluations are sequentially input for respective ones of the plurality of images, preferably, in chronological order.
Abstract: An image-taking apparatus, which can automatically adjust parameters relating to image-taking regardless of variations in manufacturing errors and adjustment errors, is disclosed. The image-taking apparatus takes images by using an image pickup element. The image-taking apparatus successively shifts a parameter relating to image-taking so as to include a reference value, and takes a plurality of images with the parameters different from each other. Furthermore, the image-taking apparatus stores information on the parameter corresponding to an image selected by a user among the plurality of images in a memory, and determined the parameter to be used for image-taking on the basis of information stored in the memory.

Abstract: The system for tracking and communicating with individuals as they move through a complex structure involves wireless communication over a first channel, called herein a front channel, between transceivers carried by the individuals being tracked and repeaters. This provides distance information signals between repeaters and transceivers within range of each other. In a second or back channel, this distance information is transmitted between repeaters until it reaches a command station. At the command station, the distance information is employed to calculate the real-time position of the individual carrying each transceiver and to plot that position on a map for display at the command station. A similar front channel and back channel approach is used to provide audio information from mobile voice communication devices carried by the individuals being tracked.
Abstract: The invention provides a communication apparatus for transferring data received from a first network to a second network, in which the apparatus judges the destination of transfer of the received data and the secrecy level of the received data, and executes the transfer of the received data by a method based on the results of judgment.
