    Abstract: A bumper arrangement for a motor vehicle, especially an automobile, with the bumper arrangement including a bending-resistant support mounted on a part integrally secured with the motor vehicle. A front of the support accommodates a preferably replacable energy absorber composed of at least one component. The energy absorber itself is partially surrounded by a shell made of a viscoelastic material. The shell is connected to a covering part of viscoelastic material having a downwardly projecting skirt segment and an upwardly extending segment which is extended in a direction toward adjoining body portions of the motor vehicle. A front side of the support is made essentially flat and is adapted to receive a middle segment of the covering part. For attachment of the shell to the covering part locally discontinuous guide grooves are provided in an area of the upper segment and skirt segment, the guide grooves being adapted to lockingly accommodate the appropriate projections or ends of the shell.

In lieu of a limit switch, a cutting force measuring sensor member may be interconnected with an evaluator circuit and the oscillator means so as to control the drive motor.

    Abstract: A drive arrangement which includes a number of internal combustion engines which are adapted to be connected to a flow of working force through free wheeling or one way clutches and gears to a common output shaft. This flow of tractive force acts only in a direction of force flow which opposes the flow of the working force. The internal combustion engines may be mechanically arranged in parallel next to one another or in series behind one another with working or output shafts of the internal combustion engines being located parallel or in series one behind the other. The working shafts are connected with parallel gear stages which transmit at different ratios and have opposing force flows.

    Abstract: A recirculating pumping device for an anti-locking two-circuit motor vehicle brake system, with the pumping device including one pump piston provided for each brake circuit. The pumping device recirculates brake fluid released from the wheel brake cylinder or cylinders to a master brake cylinder during an anti-locking regulating or control process. The pumping device includes piston pumps, with one pump being provided for each braking circuit of the braking system. The piston pumps are constructed as free piston pumps having working chambers connectable periodically to a pressure source provided on the vehicle through a valve. The valve is switchable at a predetermined switching frequency or may be vented to the tank of the pressure source. The pistons are preferably constructed as stepped pistons, so that the recirculating pumping device may be adapted to the pressure level of a pressure source already available on the vehicle by an appropriate selection of a ratio between the piston surfaces of the pistons.

    Abstract: A bumper for a motor vehicle, with the bumper being equipped with an energy absorber provided along a rear surface thereof with at least one recess. The energy absorber is disposed forwardly of a girder subjected to bending, with the girder being attached to a vehicle. The recesses are arranged in such a manner that an impact force is transmitted to the body of the motor vehicle with as little moment as possible so as to prevent a tilting of the bumper and associated motor vehicle parts such as a fender of the vehicle. With a bumper girder subjected to bending being mounted forwardly of the energy absorber, at least portions of the recesses diagonally face the area of incidence of the impact force. If the impact is directly incident on the energy absorber, the recesses lie in an extension of a direction of the point of application of the impact forces.
