  • Patent number: 4523568
Abstract: A continuously operating fuel injection installation which includes an air-quantity measuring device in the suction pipe and a fuel-quantity distributor controlled thereby, is equipped for use with a multi-cylinder aircraft engine, with an auxiliary device that serves to achieve the best possible power output, fuel economy and flight safety; for that purpose, a height control pressure regulator is connected to the control pressure line leading to the fuel-quantity distributor in parallel to a warm-up regulator, which meters the control pressure and therewith the fuel admixture corresponding to the air density changing with temperature and pressure; by interconnecting a fixed throttle between the control pressure line and the fuel return line to the fuel tank, an emergency operation of the engine is assured in case of failure of both regulators.

  • Patent number: 4523136
Abstract: A safety arrangement for an adjusting installation of a seat adapted to be actuated manually or programmed, especially of a vehicle seat, with adjusting motors and with an electronic circuit which gives priority to the manual seat adjustment over a programmed seat adjustment, which, in case of a relay or adjusting motor defect, opens up the corresponding circuit, which in case of a simultaneous actuation of several position buttons, interrupts a programmed seat adjustment and which after interruption of the energy supply permits a programmed seat adjustment only after renewed storage of a seat position.

  • Patent number: 4521769
Abstract: A device for detecting the failure of a sensor which is installed on machine elements which are fitted with rotating parts, a reference signal being obtained from the output signal of the sensor, the reference signal being compared, in a comparator, with the output signal of the sensor, the output pulses from the comparator being employed to trigger a retriggerable one-shot multivibrator circuit. The absence of the output signal initiates an alarm and/or an adjustment of certain machine sub-systems. The arrangement can be employed for monitoring the most diverse types of sensor, for example for monitoring knock sensors in internal combustion engines.

  • Patent number: 4520863
Abstract: A heat-exchanger with a bundle of parallelly extending pipes adapted to be acted upon by air which are hermetically closed and constructed in the manner of heat-pipes. A heat-exchanger head which is adapted to be traversed by a heat carrier medium extends transversely to the pipe bundle. The heat carrier channels formed therein are sealed off from a flow point of view against the heat-pipe hollow spaces but are in good heat-transferring connection therewith. The heat-exchanger is formed by two types of heat-exchanger plates of which the first type extends over the air stream and the heat-exchanger head and of which the second type of heat-exchanger plates is limited to the heat-exchanger head and extends transversely to the first type of heat-exchanger plates and is brazed thereto over a large surface.

  • Patent number: 4519254
Abstract: A high pressure transducer, especially for ballistic pressure measurements, with a body member and a sensor part, the body member can be screwed into a threaded mounting bore provided in a structural component, whereby the body member comes into sealing contact with its sealing surface against a seating surface of the mounting aperture. The body member is provided with a recess, into which projects an extension on the sensor part to be secured along its end-face on the body member. An annular gap is provided between the extension of the sensor part and the recess in the body member, which causes the force flux lines produced by the sealing forces not to pass through the sensor part so that the latter remains unaffected by changing conditions of the force flux lines, i.e. by the prevailing tightening torques.

  • Patent number: 4518154
Abstract: A pneumatic spring for motor vehicles which includes a closed spring volume and two spring surfaces of different sizes adapted to be subjected to pressure acting in opposite directions. The two spring surfaces each have an effective spring surface which is variable in size as a function of travel of the pneumatic spring. A separate support arrangement is provided for each of the spring surfaces for supporting the spring surfaces so as to be coaxial with respect to one another. A linking construction is provided for elastically linking the two support arrangements with one another so as to enable an axial distance between the support arrangements to be variable within predetermined limits as a function of a pressure of the closed spring volume.
