  • Patent number: 4493481
Abstract: A pneumatic spring for motor vehicles which includes two supports as well as closed spring volumes and two spring surfaces of different sizes which surfaces are subjected to pressure in opposite directions and which are variable as a function of road clearance. The surfaces are supported coaxially against one another with the spring volume being formed by two roll bellows defining a common chamber. Effective spring surfaces of the bellows facing away from each other are supported upon spring pistons of different diameters which are connected together. The spring pistons and a casing associated with the roll bellows form the two supports.

  • Patent number: 4492398
Abstract: A bumper formed by a rigid support of U-shaped cross section and a resilient guard covering it, with the guard having approximately horizontally aligned guide bars which rest against parallel legs of the rigid support and interact in a reinforcing manner with holding fixtures of the rigid support. For purposes of safe assembly and avoidance of overstressing the guard, additional horizontally-running cross bars are located at a vertical distance from the guide bars and include portions that protrude beyond the support. The protruding portions of the cross bars are connected to each other by means of a fastening link.

  • Patent number: 4493102
Abstract: System for routing stereo radio frequency signals over alternate audio channels in response to detection of an interference in one of the stereo signals. The system delays the radio signals during which time it detects whether an interference has corrupted one of the radio signals. If a corruption has occured, the system switches the non-corrupted signal to an active one of the audio channels so that the interference is prevented from being reproduced prior to reaching an audio output.

  • Patent number: 4485757
Abstract: An apparatus and a process are disclosed making it possible to mount, without disadvantages, relatively hard particles, such as diamond dust and the like, on wire-like base material in such a way that the diamond dust is not damaged, wherein any desired coating, that is, especially also a coating coherent over the length of the wire, can be produced. This coating is at least macroscopically homogeneous in character. In such a process for the application of relatively hard particles to a circular wire-like form or a wire-like form without longitudinal edges, for the purpose of producing a plain or multiple saw, the form is coated under pressure with the aid of a surface of two rolls. This surface is at least partially provided with the particles to be applied. The wire-like form is turned about its longitudinal axis during this process. The form must be present in the straight, that is stretched, condition.

  • Patent number: 4484280
Abstract: A system for controlling the propulsion on motor vehicles which not only enables the output torque of the drive unit of the vehicle to be utilized in an optimum manner in critical driving situations, especially under extreme road conditions, but also endows the vehicle with good stability and enhanced driving safety. A comparator is provided, in a propulsion control system which is triggered by at least one presettable or permanently preset threshold value of the speed of the vehicle, and generating an output signal causing the drive torque to be reduced, as soon as this threshold value is exceeded and a signal is present, which indicates that an individual wheel brake is being activated and/or that one of the driven wheels is tending to spin. The threshold value of the speed of the vehicle, which value governs the control process, is preferably regulated in accordance with the transverse acceleration which acts on the vehicle whenever it follows a curved path.
