  • Patent number: 6602014
Abstract: Several embodiments of the shutters employ a variety of synergistic features which may be used individually or in combination to produce a shutter capable of more completely shutting out light. One aspect is the use of a two-step overlapping end to provide a complementary fit in order to shut out light. Another aspect is the use of an angled engagement pin which engages the louver not at its edge, but into its main expanse and nearer the center of pivot of each louver. Another aspect is the use of an accommodation space to accommodate the “U” shaped attachment member of the simultaneous actuation handle, which accommodation space can vary in size and depth to accommodate structures extending from the simultaneous actuation handle. Regardless of relative size, the louvers, engagement pins, and simultaneous actuation handle can be disciplined to form a neater appearance on the shutter assembly.

  • Patent number: 6595586
Abstract: a seating structure provides improved comfort and includes a single, pair, or multiple numbers of moving seating assemblies with independent platforms, especially suited for the automotive or aircraft seating environments. A motion mechanism provides each seating assembly with at least one of total rocking, vertical up and down movement, lateral, and limited slight turning movement and in one embodiment generally constrains the seat members of the seat assemblies from interference with each other. The seating assemblies are provided at a neutral angle that corresponds to the particular application of the seat. Independent up and down movement, and rocking, improves seating comfort health, and safety especially as applied to a seating environment, where a user is likely to be seated for an extended period, such as in an automobile or aircraft.

  • Patent number: 6595478
Abstract: A curtain rod support system includes a support member and a mounting plate attachable to a supporting structure with a pair of screws. The mounting plate has a fixed member, and preferably a threaded member extending therefrom and engageable with the support member, virtually eliminating the need for additional, trial and error adjustment of the mounting plate with respect to the supporting structure. The mounting plate is first affixed to the support structure using the pair of screws, the fixed screw of the mounting plate is inserted into a blind bore in the support member, and the support member is rotated until the screw has essentially fully advanced within the bore. The support member has a second bore completely therethrough and through which a curtain rod may be extended so that the support member bears the weight of the curtain rod and suspended draperies.

  • Patent number: 6585868
Abstract: This invention relates to a reduced water producing apparatus, which can mass-produce reduced water, wherein oxidation-reduction potential maintains for a long period successively, from not only industrial water, natural water but pure water speedily and inexpensively, and that suited for industrial mass production of reduced water. The apparatus have a water tank, at least one electrode plate unit, and a voltage impressing means for impressing high-frequency alternating voltage, wherein the electrode plate unit includes two alternating electrode plates in which alternating voltages impressed by the voltage impressing means are varied to be modulated waves of mutually opposite phases and a ground electrode plate arranged to oppose the two alternating electrode plates, and wherein surfaces of these electrode plates are formed of titanium or platinum.

  • Patent number: 6550521
Abstract: A system for suspending a video projection screen includes the principles of physical independence, or a somewhat “floating system,” employing at least some thermal expansion matching, centroid expansion dimension splitting combined with front to back progressive dimensional freedom, as well as corner gussets and rear corner brackets which contribute to the overall independence of each element of the system. The system of support provide clearance space from the rear of the system and which progressively provides a final touching clearance at the projection end of the system which has the minimum spacing between adjacent acrylic members to provide a nearly seamless system. In one embodiment, an expanse of typical acrylic screen material which may be either case, such as a Fresnel, or lenticular-fresnel material, or extruded, such as a diffusion material, having a thermal expansion of about 34×10−6 inch/inch/° F.

  • Patent number: 6516697
Abstract: An improved spent shell carriage container, storage and dispensing hopper system provides two structures which can be added to a standard sized bucket, one structure through direct mounting and the other through drop insertion, to produce a spent shell carriage container and dispensing hopper. The direct mounting structure is simply a latch to hold a lower portion of the drop in structure in the closed position. The drop in structure includes a first member which can be shaped to gather support from the inside of the bucket to provide an angled approach to a second member acting as a door. The second member is sized as a partial cup to prevent, limit and stabilize the spent shells appearing and passing through the opening so that a hand sized accumulation will be available for quick manual engagement and loading on the reloading equipment.
