  • Patent number: 4221960
Abstract: A light ray emitted by a light source and which is to be modulated by an acoustic-optical modulator element is stabilized by its intensity being detected before it enters the acoustic-optical modulator element and being used to produce correction signals. The correction signals are used to amplitude-modulate a high-frequency carrier in reverse phase to the change of intensity of the light ray, to produce corrected carrier signals. Then the corrected carrier signals are further amplitude-modulated by control signals to produce modulator signals which are used to modulate the light ray in the acoustic-optical modulator element.

  • Patent number: 4217041
Abstract: A microfiche construction embodying Cassegrainian reflecting surfaces. A fixed projection sheet is provided with convex lenses on its top surface, the lower peripheries of which are internally mirrored. An indexable lensfiche is provided with sunken convex reflecting mirrors on its top surface which are optically aligned with corresponding upper lens of the projection sheet to define Cassegrainian surfaces. Light modulated by microimages on the lensfiche strikes the Cassegrainian surfaces and passes to a viewing screen. In an embodiment, the projection sheet carries both Cassegrainian reflectors.

  • Patent number: 4213771
Abstract: A pocket filter in the form of a filtering block is provided with an assembly of channels open at one end to receive gas from which dust is to be removed, and is interleaved with the channels of another assembly open towards the other end and delivering the gas from which the dust has been removed. These channels have a generally square-shaped cross-section, and are connected to each other, for example by stitching lines, along their edges. During operation, the initial shape provided for the cross-section of the channels of the two above mentioned assemblies is maintained by tensioning these two assemblies with tensioners or the like, on which are fixed the edges of the outer channels of the filtering block.

  • Patent number: 4211453
Abstract: A drill bit for conical cutting elements, each secured to a bit segment by an annular locking bearing which is fed by a first lubrication system which directs high pressure lubricant through the bit segment and locking bearing to space external of the drill bit at lower atmospheric pressure; each cutting element is further coupled to the bit segment by a second annular bearing radially inward of the locking bearing and lubricated by a second lubrication system independent of the first; the second lubrication system defines a closed space containing lubricant and the second bearing with one boundary of this space being a flexible wall whose outside surface is exposed to the atmospheric pressure external of the drill, the wall being deflectable to equalize the pressure of the second lubrication system with the atmospheric pressure.

  • Patent number: 4206951
Abstract: A linear rolling bearing has an outer housing with a central bore. A plurality of radially inwardly directed axially extending projections in the bore form races for rolling elements under load, and surfaces between the projections serve as return races. A cage within the bore has a plurality of axially extending guide channels, and semicircular guide channels interconnect pairs of the guide channels to form endless channels for the rolling elements. The outer housing has inclined surfaces joining the corresponding races for loaded and unloaded rolling elements, whereby the inclined surfaces steplessly interconnect the respective races and extend radially outwardly from each of these races.
