Abstract: An artificial fishing lure which may be fished within aquatic weeds without the lure hooks tangling themselves in the weeds is disclosed. The lure features a lure body having a hollow portion into which an automatically actuated hooking mechanism is housed. The hooking mechanism has a pair of hooks which are mounted at their shanks to a pivot rigidly mounted in the hollow portion. The hooks are originally within the housing and are arcuately movable about the pivot so that the hook points are outside the hollow portion and facing forward. To achieve this arcuate motion, an elongated V-shaped spring is slidably carried within the hollow portion and is attached at its leg ends to the hook ends. These points of connection will assume a position rearward of the pivot when the hooks are in the retracted position and within the hollow portion. When the points of connection are moved forward of the pivot, the spring action causes the hooks to move arcuately outward in the outside position and facing forward.
Abstract: The edge of an interior lamina or laminae of a laminated sheet or film having three or more laminae is positively encapsulated to protect material enclosed by the laminated sheet or film from contacting and interacting with the edge of the interior lamina or laminae. To encapsulate the interior lamina or laminae, the edge of the laminated sheet or film is heated and the molten outer laminae are mechanically forced out and over the interior lamina or laminae to be covered, thereby positively encapsulating the edge of the interior lamina or laminae.
Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing liquid including a flexible container for storing liquid, a closure connected to the container, a cap rotatably connected to the closure having an orifice therein, a film-forming post connected to the closure with an orifice therein alignable with the orifice in the cap, a stem projecting upwardly from the closure for conveying liquid to the film-forming post, and a dip tube connected to the stem for conveying liquid from the container to the stem.
Abstract: A lighted cassette holder for displaying and protecting cassettes is disclosed. The cassette holder features a plurality of cassette holding tracks which are diagonally convergent. The tracks are held by a support member which is attached to a base and a top plate. Electrical lighting is provided adjacent the top plate. Movable dust shields are mounted between the base and top plate to protect the cassettes from dust accumulation.
Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing liquid including a container for storing liquid, a closure connected to the container, a film-forming post connected to the closure having an orifice therein, a cap rotatably connected to the closure having an orifice alignable with the orifice in the film-forming post, a dip tube connected to the closure for conveying liquid from the container to the closure, the cap being adapted to selectively seal the orifice in the closure.
Abstract: A filter box for filtering trash from sand is disclosed. The box features a rectangular portion and a trapezoidal portion. The trapezoidal portion is enclosed by tapered sidewalls and an overlying trapezoidal top wall to form a funnel. The rectangular portion has upwardly projecting sidewalls which connect with the tapered sidewalls. A screen is fitted within the sidewalls of the rectangular portion and is utilized to filter, from sand, any trash that may be present. The filtered sand is then replaced into the receptacle from which it came by pouring it through the formed funnel of the filter box of this invention.
Abstract: A dispensing device for a pressurized liquid container capable of delivering metered quantities of an aerosol composition having a discharge tube through which the container can be filled with fluids under pressure including a generally cylindrical chamber including an upper chamber and a generally cylindrical lower chamber, a discharge tube mounted in the sealed upper end of the chamber and extending into the chamber, the discharge tube being axially movable in the chamber and having a cup-shaped piston member connected thereto, the cup-shaped piston having a resilient rim slidable within the lower chamber when the discharge tube is depressed a predetermined amount to isolate a metered quantity of fluid within the upper chamber, the rim of the cup-shaped piston member being sufficiently resilient to allow fluids introduced under pressure through said discharge tube during filling of the container to flow between the rim and the side walls of the lower chamber.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining the location at which a string of pipe is stuck in a well bore. The apparatus has two relatively movable sections and an electrical sensing device for determining relative movement of the two sections which produces a signal representing the movement. The electrical sensing device has a wiper arm adapted to be displaced with a longitudinal deformation of the pipe string and with angular deformation of the pipe string.
Abstract: A rotating joint assembly for feeding an extrusion die with two or more thermoplastic layers of a consistent uniformity of distribution including a stationary manifold for receiving two or more thermoplastic streams and conveying the streams to discharge openings in the manifold, and a cylindrical conduit rotatably connected to the manifold, the conduit having intake openings aligned with discharge openings in the stationary base for receiving and conveying thermoplastic streams from the base to an extrusion die and an axial channel aligned with an axial channel in the stationary manifold for receiving and conveying one of the thermoplastic streams to the die.

Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing liquid including a container for storing liquid, a closure connected to the container, a gas reservoir connected to the closure for supplying gas under pressure to the interior of the container, a stem slidably connected to the gas reservoir for controlling the flow of gas from the reservoir, a dip tube connected to the stem for conveying liquid from the container to the stem, a cap connected to the closure having an orifice therein, and a film forming post connected to the closure with an orifice therein aligned with the orifice in the cap.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for conserving energy in the operation of a conventional air conditioning system in a large building employing a water cooled condenser, an evaporator, a chilled water circuit, and a refrigerant compressor or heat source in an absorption-type air conditioner wherein the compressor or heat source is not energized and the water tubes in the evaporator are connected to the water tubes in the condenser to allow the water from the evaporator to flow directly into the water tubes of the condenser.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for conserving energy in the operation of a conventional air conditioning system in a large building employing a refrigerant evaporator, a water cooled refrigerant condenser, a refrigerant compressor, and a cooling tower, wherein the compressor is not energized, the condenser and evaporator are flooded with refrigerant from a reservoir, and the refrigerant from the reservoir is circulated between the condenser and the evaporator while the cooling tower is in operation.
Abstract: A manually actuated trigger pump is adapted to be fitted on the neck of a container for dispensing a liquid therefrom. The pump includes a main housing with a trigger connected thereto, a flexible bladder which fits in the housing and is engagable by the trigger, and a nozzle which is attached to the housing. The trigger engages the bladder to pump fluid from the bladder outwardly through the nozzle.
Abstract: An actuator button assembly for a finger-operated fluid dispenser including a compression chamber located in the actuator button, a piston slidably located in the compression chamber, an insert having an orifice therein fitted adjacent to the compression chamber, resilient means for biasing the piston toward the insert, and a cylindrical pin extending from the piston for contacting and sealing the orifice located in the insert.
Abstract: A breathing apparatus is disclosed which fits into the mouth of a human between the teeth and cheeks. The apparatus functions to direct air from the front of the mouth to the back of the mouth and from there to the lungs. The apparatus features a ported curved tube which is open-ended and which has sufficient length to extend from the rear of the mouth on one side of the mouth along a path following the tooth line from one set of molars to the other and on to the rear of the mouth on that other side of the mouth. To facilitate flow of air from the front of the mouth to the rear, there is provided an intake opening located midway the tube so that said opening will be in a position at the front of the mouth. Exhaust openings are provided in conjunction with each open end of the apparatus for allowing passage of the air from the tube into the rear of the mouth and upper trachea.
