Abstract: A foldable loading ramp for a truck having a tailgate. The ramp includes a plurality of ramp sections. The top section of the ramp is pivotally connected to the tailgate, and is attached to an adjacent section by two pivoting bars connected to the sides of the top section and to the sides of the adjacent section. One of the bars is connected to the middle of the top ramp section and the end of the adjacent ramp section. The other bar is attached to the end of the top ramp section and the middle of the adjacent section, thereby allowing the ramp to be folded into a compact bundle inside the tailgate when not in use.
Abstract: An improved arrow support device to be used on archery bows, including a pair of arrow support members, rigidly attached to a pivotable yoke member. The arrow support members are bound by the yoke member and oriented in relation to one another so that upon the discharge of an arrow, the arrow shaft contacting the outer tips of the arrow support members present no obstruction to the passage of an arrow with fletching. The yoke member pivots about an axis oriented so that the arrow contacting surfaces of the arrow support members can move downwardly at an angle inclined toward the surface of the bow sight window. The yoke member is held against a stop by spring tension. When the arrow bends due to the initial impact of release, the yoke assembly pivots against the spring tension which will return the yoke assembly to the stop when the initial bend of the arrow shaft passes through the zero point of the "S" curve. The yoke assembly is pivotally attachable to a pivot frame assembly which is attachable to a bow.

Abstract: A method of purifying waste water from oil well rigs in order that the water may be made suitable for reuse on the rig or disposed of conventionally is disclosed. The method incorporates a series of aerators and corresponding collection tanks to first aerate, then collect, the waste water a number of times. In each collection tank, sediment precipitates to the bottom of the tank, permitting the clearer water to overflow, or to be skimmed, from the collection tank. A soluble aluminum salt is added to the waste water at an initial stage of aeration in order to coagulate waste particles within the water and form solid precipitates which then settle to the tank bottom, permitting the clearer water to pass on to subsequent aerators and sedimentation tanks, until ultimately, the water may be disposed of without polluting or contaminating the environment.
Abstract: A lifting tool for lifting an internal combustion engine having an intake manifold, the lifting tool including a mounting plate for connecting to the intake manifold of the engine, the mounting plate having a plurality of holes therein aligned with bolt holes or studs in the intake manifold, a "U"-shaped bracket connected to the mounting plate for receipt of a hook or chain connected to a lifting device such as a chain hoist, and a plurality of safety chains connected to the "U"-shaped bracket for connecting to the engine to prevent the engine from falling to the ground if the "U"-shaped bracket should separate from the mounting plate or if the mounting plate should separate from the engine while the engine is being hoisted.
Abstract: A scabbard for holding a knife having a folding blade, the scabbard having means therein for engaging thumb slits in the blade of the knife while the knife is being removed from the scabbard to enable the user of the knife to pivot the blade to the open position as the knife is being withdrawn from the scabbard. The means for engaging the thumb slits in the blade can be two pins mounted in the side of the scabbard or two longitudinal ridges or springs extending from the inner walls of the scabbard to engage a substantial length of the thumb slit in the blade of the knife. In one embodiment of the invention, the conventional thumb slits of a folding knife are extended to the end of the portion of the knife blade which first contacts the means for engaging the knife blade to enable the thumb slits to be engaged by the ridges, springs, or pins in the scabbard.
Abstract: A boat trailer including a frame having a tongue rigidly connected thereto and an axle with wheels thereon connected to the frame by springs, the frame also having pivotally connected thereto a ramp mounted on the rearward end of the frame on an axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tongue of the trailer, the ramp being mounted independently of the wheels supporting the frame, the ramp having the major portion of its length extending forwardly of the perpendicular axis of the frame and a plurality of rollers mounted in the center thereof, and having two flat runners extending parallel and perpendicular to the pivotal axis of the ramp for supporting the weight of the boat.
Abstract: A hair curler having a hollow body and an elastic retaining band connected thereto for retaining the hair against the curler body which retracts into the body of the curler when the curler is being unwound from the treated hair to prevent the band from becoming entangled in the hair. Preferably, the curler body has a series of holes or perforations therein so that curling or setting solutions may travel through the body of the curler through the perforations or holes to thoroughly contact and wet the hair wrapped around the curler.
Abstract: A portable apparatus for suspending an object to be cooked in close proximity to a heat source while rotating the object about a vertical axis. The hook upon which the meat or objects to be cooked or hung is rotated by a chain connecting a sprocket on the hook with a sprocket on an electric motor. The chain is sufficiently long so that the motor may be placed far enough from the fire or heat source to prevent damage to the motor. Preferably, the hook and motor is contained within a single frame which has two hooks at the top thereof so that the frame may be suspended from a horizontal pipe.
