  • Patent number: 5819639
Abstract: A base includes a bottom panel and four generally upwardly extended side walls. A first support and a second support are each configured to extend upwardly from the base. A spit is configured to extend between and to be supported by the first and the second supports, above and along the base. A rotation apparatus for rotating the spit includes a spit holding mechanism for fixedly holding an end of the spit, and a manually wound spring mechanism configured to rotate the spit holding mechanism. The first support and the second support are each formed of a bent rod, having a pair of opposed legs which extend downwardly from a spit supporting portion toward opposing ones of the side walls. Distal ends of the legs are outwardly turned and penetrate the side walls, so that the first support and the second support are each pivotal inwardly and downwardly toward the base from an upwardly extended position.

  • Patent number: 5816621
Abstract: A pair of quick disconnect female fittings each have a first end adapted to be connected to a first pipe, and a second end adapted to engage a quick disconnect male fitting attached to a second pipe. Each of the quick disconnect female fittings includes a sleeve adapted to cause the quick disconnect male fitting to disconnect from the quick disconnect female fitting when the sleeve is urged toward the first end. A pair of elongated members are disposed generally parallel to the quick disconnect female fittings. A plate is configured to slide along the elongated members. The plate is configured such that when urged toward the first ends of the quick disconnect female fittings along the elongated members, the plate will urge the sleeves toward the first ends. A first spring is disposed on each of the elongated members and is configured to urge the plate toward the first ends of the quick disconnect female fittings. Each of the elongated members includes a recess therein.

  • Patent number: 5816136
Abstract: A lid is adjustable for fitting over various sized pots. Fastening structure is provided for attaching the lid to the pot. A motor is configured to attach to the lid. A stirring apparatus is adapted to be disposed within the pot when the lid is attached to the pot. A drive mechanism is attached to the motor and to the stirring apparatus, and is configured to rotate the stirring apparatus. The lid includes a substantially disk shaped central support structure which supports the motor. An aperture within the support structure is configured for the drive mechanism to extend there-through. A series of overlapping leafs are disposed annularly about the support structure and are hingedly connected thereto. The drive mechanism includes a drive shaft attached to the motor, and a nested structure which comprises an elongated sleeve and an elongated piston which is slidable within the sleeve. The nested structure includes structure to restrict the piston from rotating relative to the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 5813323
Abstract: A plurality of bins are configured to be removably positioned on a platform within a housing. A first opening in the housing is positioned above the bins. A second opening in the housing is configured to permit the bins to be removed there-through. The platform is configured to rotate a selected one of the bins into position adjacent the first opening and the second opening simultaneously, such that waste can be transferred through the first opening into the selected one of the bins, and such that the selected one of the bins can be removed through the second opening. The platform is further configured to rotate a chosen one of the bins into position adjacent a compacting apparatus such that the compacting apparatus can compact waste within the chosen one of the bins. When travel of an arm of the compacting apparatus into the bin is less than a pre-determined distance, an indicator indicates that the bin is full.
