Abstract: A rowboat roving fin system that includes two rotating fin assemblies mounted on the watercraft's opposite sidewalls. Each fin assembly includes a rotating vertical post held on the outside surface of the sidewall by a mounting bracket. When held by the mounting bracket, the upper end of the post extends above the gunwale while the lower end of the post extends below the mounting bracket. In a first embodiment, a pivoting fin arm with a flexible fin attached thereto is pivotally attached to the lower end of each post via a stop hinge. The stop hinge acts to limit the rotating of the fin arm along a vertical arc around the lower end of the post. The fin is perpendicularly aligned and attached to the fin arm. Attached to the upper end of each post that extends near the gunwale is a perpendicularly aligned handle bracket. The handle bracket is perpendicularly aligned with the post and with the rotation arc of the fin arm. A rowing handle is pivotally attached at one end to the handle hinge.
Abstract: A load stopping system for mechanically stopping a load in a relatively slow and controlled manner using rotational and frictional forces. The system includes a glide rod, a guide collar that moves longitudinally over the glide rod, two vertically mounted friction rods mounted on opposite sides of the glide rod, a friction collar that moves longitudinally along each friction rod, and a support platform coupled to each friction collar and to the guide collar. The glide rod includes a spiral fluted vane along its entire length upon which the guide collar rides when a force is placed on the support platform. The friction rod and collars use friction to control the movement of the support platform along the direction of travel.
Abstract: An orbital sander liquid dispenser that includes a head with a hollow fluid distribution ring attached thereto that includes a plurality of jet openings formed on its bottom surface design to spray a desired liquid onto the working surface. A liquid is pumped by means of a submerged electric pump to the head and into the ring from a reservoir. An optional foot switch is provided for control the flow of liquid to the head.

Abstract: An optical disc media marketing system used to advertise various products or services to users of optical disc products. The system includes the use of a standard optical disc and a jewel case with a recessed cavity formed therein to receive the optical disc. If the jewel case includes a spindle post, then the system includes either a T-shaped adapter or a cap that temporarily engages or attaches to the post. If the jewel case does not include a spindle post, then a T-shaped adaptor is used that engages the inside edge of the optical disc. The T-shaped adaptor and the cap include a top surface that is slightly larger than the spindle hole thereby preventing removal of the disc from the jewel case or use on an optical disc player. Disposed over the top surface of the adaptor or cap is a stack of adhesive labels.
Abstract: An improved spiral conveyor self-stacking drive system designed to increase the life of a multiple link conveyor belt by reducing the stresses exerted on the belt when disposed in a spiral configuration. The drive system includes a conical guide ring upon which the belt is wound when disposed in a spiral configuration. During use, the belt is tightly wrapped around the guide ring. The slope of the conical guide ring's sidewall is sufficient so that the upper tiers are stacked slightly inward and offset over the lower tiers over the entire length of the guide ring, thus gradually reducing the lateral forces exerted on the unsupported upper tiers.
Abstract: An electronic golf swing analyzing system that uses an array of infrared (IR) and ultrasonic (U/S) sensors, activated by an embedded micro-controller, to capture swing data to accurately calculate the club head's velocity, face angle, and swing path at impact. The system also includes a golf swing analyzing software application that receives the data from the analyzer to determine the distance and direction that the ball will travel relative to the target line. During use, the IR sensor base is placed horizontally and the U/S sensor base is positioned vertically. The player selects one of three available practice modes, which determines how the trajectory data for each swing is visually displayed. The player selects a golf club, enters golf ball information, and environmental conditions information. Trajectory results for each swing are graphically displayed relative to the players stated ability level on the computer monitor.
Abstract: This invention relates to a method and system for remote detection of a targeted substance by the appropriate application of a probing signal that induces molecular resonance in the target substance to create an identifiable signature or response. In the preferred embodiment, signals transmitted are an Infrared laser beam, amplitude modulated in the range of 100 kHz frequency. The probing signal stimulates molecular resonance of the target substance which produces characteristic electron signal responses that are detected by IR detectors. A software program is used to process the electrical response signals and to compare them with electrical response signals stored in a database of known substances, thus allowing the target substance to be identified. The system may also be used to locate targeted substances.
