  • Patent number: 7423815
Abstract: An adjustable lens device includes a fixing seat, an adjusting seat sleeved on the fixing seat, and first and second lens modules mounted to the fixing seat. The fixing seat is formed with a plurality of positioning projections, and a plurality of guide slots that extend parallel to an axis. The adjusting seat is formed with an annular groove for movably receiving the positioning projections, and a plurality of driving slots that extend spirally and that correspond to the guide slots. Guide components on the second lens module pass through the guide slots and the driving slots. By virtue of the guide slots, the driving slots and the guide components, rotation of the adjusting seat relative to the fixing seat can move the second lens module for zoom adjustment.

  • Patent number: 7423895
Abstract: A differential non-volatile content addressable memory array has a differential non-volatile content addressable memory cell which uses a pair of non-volatile storage elements. Each of the non-volatile storage elements can be a split-gate floating gate transistor or a stack gate floating gate transistor having a first terminal, a second terminal, a channel therebetween and a floating gate over at least a portion of the channel to control the conduction of electrons in the channel, and a control gate. The floating gate storage transistor can be in one of two states: a first state, such as erase, in which current can flow between the first terminal and the second terminal, and a second state, such as programmed, in which substantially no current flows between the first terminal and the second terminal. A pair of differential compare data lines connects to the control gate of each of the pair of non-volatile floating gate transistors.

  • Patent number: 7420878
Abstract: A system and method for providing precision locations for sensors which make up an array of sensors in a gunshot detection system. In a preferred embodiment sensors employ a commercial GPS which reports a sensor position or a group of pseudoranges to GPS satellites. A server collects differential information from a differential node and, in one preferred embodiment, calculates a precision position for each sensor by adjusting the reported position or pseudoranges with the differential information. In another preferred embodiment differential information is sent from the host to individual sensors which calculate their own precision positions. Differential information may be latitude and longitude corrections, pseudorange corrections, ionospheric delay, GPS satellite clock drift, or other corrective term which will improve the accuracy of a sensor position.

  • Patent number: 7420405
Abstract: The present invention is an electronic isolator that provides low input to output insertion loss, high output to input insertion loss, and substantial asymmetric isolation between a source circuit and a load circuit. The invention actively reduces noise and reflected power appearing on the isolator output. In numerous embodiments, the invention operates in circuit applications from dc through millimeter wave. Multistage electronic isolator embodiments provide increased isolation and greater noise reduction. In other embodiments, the electronic isolator also removes noise appearing on its input. In another embodiment, the invention is configured for high power applications. This embodiment includes circuitry for redirecting power away from the load into resistors or other dissipative elements. In another embodiment, the electronic isolator is configured to remove signal distortion produced by one or more power amplifiers in the system.

  • Patent number: 7415446
Abstract: An apparatus and method is disclosed for solving optimization problems without the need to build mathematical models or rules. The inventive method combines the structure of a single-loop feedback control system and optimization search engine mechanisms. Running in real-time, a Model-Free Adaptive (MFA) optimizer can automatically search for the optimal operating point for a dynamic system when a parabolic relationship exists between the input and output. The MFA optimizer comprises a user-selected Min/Max setter to define the searching objective, a process acting-mode search engine to determine if the process is running in direct-acting or reverse-acting mode, a maximum search engine and a minimum search engine to find the maximum or minimum. This apparatus and method is useful in fuel-and-air ratio optimization for combustion processes, yield optimization for chemical or biological reactors, and operating efficiency optimization for coal or ore ball mills.
