Abstract: The present invention is related to a display control device adapted to be used in a communication apparatus providing an information for transmitting the information to a display and transmitting the information to a second device when the information is required by the second device, which includes a buffer device storing therein the information, a decoder electrically connected to the buffer device for decoding the information stored in the buffer device and outputting the decoded information to the display, a bidirectional transmission device electrically connected to the buffer device for transmitting the information to the display and transmitting the information to the second device when the information is required by the second device, and a controller electrically connected to the bidirectional transmission device for controlling a transmission between the bidirectional transmission device and the second device.

Abstract: A no-idle-striking structure for nailing machines including a strike assembly, a bumper bar, a magazine, and a follow plate. The bumper bar is provided with a hook which may extend into a magazine support. The follow plate has a stop portion. When there are nails in the magazine, the bumper bar is in normal state so that pulling of the trigger will cause a nail to be driven into a workpiece. But when the nails are used up, the follow plate will elevate to the position of the magazine support so that its stop portion will restrain the hook of the bumper bar from displacing rearwardly. As a result, pulling of the trigger will not effect any striking.

Abstract: A method for fusing brushware on a thin walled, molded hollow plastic synthetic container is described. Tufts of synthetic materials are picked and non-working ends thereof fused. The hollow bottle is molded with protrusions extending from a surface thereof with one protrusion intended to received each fused tuft end. The protrusions then are heat softened to form a melted section of synthetic surface wherein the fused tuft end can be mounted. The result is a hollow container having tufts extending from the outer surface thereof, integral with the container without distorting the thin wall thereof by the fusing process.

Abstract: A process for inhibiting the growth of pathogenic bacteria and aiding in periodontal tissue healing within the oral cavity by binding therapeutic agents to surfaces is described. The process includes initial coating of hard surfaces in the oral cavity such as tooth roots, dental restorative materials, dental implants, and guided tissue regeneration surgery barrier membranes with a cationic surfactant, tridodecylmethylammonium chloride, and then binding antibiotics such as tetracycline, metronidazole or with Platelet Derived Growth Factor. These surfaces are thereby made unavailable for bacterial colonization. Tooth roots, barrier membranes and other materials used in regenerative periodontal surgery also may be coated with cationic surfactant to bind local or added platelet derived growth factors.

Abstract: A turbocharged diesel engine is described. The engine has a two stage turbocharger assembly including low pressure turbochargers coupled and parallel and arranged in series with a single high pressure turbocharger. This allows all turbochargers to be of comparable dimensions for interchangeability of parts. The turbochargers may be mounted on an enclosure which encloses the turbines and the exhaust gas duct work which communicates with the exhaust pipe to insure that any leaking exhaust gas escapes to the atmosphere via the exhaust pipe. A cartridge is also described which contains the moving parts which can be removed without disturbing the turbine housing.

Abstract: A ceiling lighting fixture, including a rectangular bottom-open casing having a plurality of parallel partition frames and an electric connector connected to external power supply, a plurality of lamp tubes respectively mounted in the casing and separated by the partition frames and electrically connected to the electric connector, and a cylindrical sensor-controlled switch adapted for detecting the presence of persons and switching on/off the electric connector subject to its detection result, one of the partition frames having a rounded switch mounting hole and a plurality of bendable locating strips respectively projecting into the switch mounting hole at different angles, the cylindrical sensor-controlled switch being mounted in the rounded switch mounting hole and connected to the electric connector, having a plurality of recessed holes spaced around the periphery and forced into engagement with the locating strips.

Abstract: A hard disk case mounting structure includes an auxiliary stop bar provided at either side of a front end of a hard disk frame for preventing a pull handle on a case of the hard disk frame from being forcefully pulled up, thereby protecting the hard disk lock. Besides, the relative movement between the pull handle and the auxiliary stop bar may result in a counter force between the case and a mounting frame to cause two connecting ports to be separated to permit smooth removal of the hard disk.

Abstract: In high frequency apparatus such as for example an rf resonant cavity or a waveguide, it is often necessary to include a slot to permit a probe or other member to be located in the high frequency region and be moveable along the slot. Sealing means arranged adjacent to the slot and around the probe permits movement of the probe whilst minimising the open aperture area of the slot, hence preventing or reducing leakage through it. In one embodiment of the invention, the sealing means comprises a metallic mesh and in another it includes an elastomer material which is loaded with metallic material and/or carries a metallic mesh.

Abstract: A nail track and nail output head arrangement which includes a nail track having a longitudinal nail guide wall, the nail guide wall having a side lug and a flanged to notch, and a nail output head having an integral mounting plate at an inner side and defining a substantially U-shaped nail output port, the mounting plate having two parallel lugs perpendicularly disposed adjacent to one end of the U-shaped nail output port and bilaterally pivoted to the lug of the nail track, an upright locating plate surrounded by the U-shaped nail output port and forced into engagement with the notch of the nail track, and a nail guide plate perpendicularly disposed adjacent to an opposite end of the U-shaped nail output port.

Abstract: There is described herein a wound healing enhancing medicinal composition formulated from the salivary protein Lumicarmine. The invention further includes preparation of antibodies of this protein. A culture of salivary gland cells was also grown. Lumicarmine was produced as well as other salivary proteins. The production of Lumicarmine also was blocked by antibodies thereof.

Abstract: A linear CCD hand held bar code reader which includes a vibrator to provide a vibration signal when the reader completes a reading of a bar code is described. A sensor is provided having a metal antenna mounted around the area to be held by the operator and the capacitance of the operator is used to trigger a sensor when the operator holds the reader, thus causing the sensor to turn on the reader. A reflector is mounted and shifted between two reflecting positions to reflect an image of a bar code at different scanning lines when the bar code is stained with dirt or blurred. The reflector can be shifted either by a drive mechanism, or by a magnet combination.

Abstract: A drawer type hard diskdrive box assembly is described. The assembly includes a mounting frame, a casing covered with a cover frame and slidably mounted in the mounting frame to hold the diskdrive and a handle pivoted to the front side of the casing for carrying the same. The mounting frame has a spring latch for locking the handle when the casing is locked in the mounting frame and a movable dust board which is operative to close the mounting frame when the casing is removed from the mounting frame. The handle also has two pins at opposite ends which are stopped against stop edges of the mounting frame to force the casing outwards from the mounting frame when the handle is turned counter clockwise relative to the casing.

Abstract: A process is described for providing a tufted construction consisting entirely of nylon material wherein at least on tuft is joined to a brush block by fusion thereof. According to the process of this invention a non-working end of said tuft is fused simultaneously with a tuft receiving portion of said block and the two are joined immediately whereby the products fuse and cool before degradation of products in substantial amounts can be formed. The heat applied to fuse said materials is at least 350.degree. F. over the melting point and the duration of time from application of heat to fusion jointer is less than 3 seconds.

Abstract: A rotary drum scanner comprises a rotatably mounted hub, a drum detachably mounted to the hub and an interlock mechanism which locks the hub against rotation until the drum is locked to the hub.

Abstract: A microphone having a telescopic sound pickup means includes a handle fitted with an adjusting knob provided with an internal spiral slide groove. By turning the adjusting knob, a pin may be brought by the spiral slide groove to slide upwardly and downwardly along a vertical slot formed in one side of the handle. The pickup head is therefore brought to perform telescopic actions by the displacement of the pin.
