Abstract: A quick connect coupling including male and female elements that are adapted to fit axially in each other and each includes a valve that is displaced to an open position by engagement by a fixed pusher part of each element when they are being fitted together. The female element is provided with a locking member in which a part of the male element is received and which is reciprocally movable in a radial direction with respect to an axis of fit of the elements between two positions in which the locking member respectively allows or opposes the separation of the male and female elements and wherein the engaging surfaces of the valves and pusher parts is such that no open volumes or voids are created therein in which a liquid may collect during assembly or disassembly of the male and female elements.
Abstract: A weave system comprises a plurality of electric rotary actuators each of which is adapted to drive a pulley for winding a cord element controlling the position of at least one heddle, and wherein a removable cover is provided to isolate and protect a group of pulleys mounted on adjacent actuators. The cover is provided with means for releasably retaining at least one pulley in a position allowing it to be assembled on a corresponding actuator or dismantled with respect thereto as the cover is moved toward or away from a mounting position over the corresponding actuator and which releases the at least one pulley to freely rotate within the cover when the cover is completely seated in mounted relationship with respect to the actuators.
Abstract: A pressurized fluid filling nozzle provided with a ring for fastening on an adaptor connected to a container and with a controlled valve adapted to selectively control flow of fluid through a conduit. A sensor detects the fastening of the nozzle on the adaptor and makes it possible to render a kinematic link between a control member and the valve active to displace the valve from a position where it obturates the conduit towards a position where it leaves a passage free for fluid flow. The control member is a trigger provided with at least one profiled guide which comprises two parts which cooperate with a guide element of a lever articulated on the valve. Depending on a position of the guide element, a transmission of force between the trigger and the valve is, or is not, possible.
Abstract: Capped containers for use on a residence counter have caps which swingably connect the cap to the container for closure. If the contents of the container is a thin or watery liquid the ordinary closure may not prevent leakage during vibration, travelling or pressure. There is here provided a container with an additional closure formed when a sleeve is arranged to move to an extended position and then to thread to both the cap and the container to provide a fluid tight connection to each.
Abstract: A digital signature verification protocol utilises a pair of signature components incorporating a pair of private keys, one of which is a long term key and the other of which is a short term key. The long term key is applied to one of the signature components to reveal the short term key. The short tern key is then used to compute a value of a signature component contained in the signature. If the computed value and received values agree then authenticity is verified.
Abstract: Eyeglasses comprise a pair of spectacles having primary lenses and an auxiliary lens assembly attached to the spectacles. The auxiliary lens assembly is secured by a subframe that includes at least one arm having a magnet at one end to co-operate with a magnet provided on the spectacles. A hinge is provided on the subframe at the opposite end of the arm to allow the auxiliary lens assembly to move from a position in which the primary lenses are covered to a position in which they are exposed.
Abstract: An eyeglass device comprised of a primary eyeglass frame and an auxiliary eyeglass frame, each containing lenses therein. The primary eyeglass frame includes a bridge and earpieces, which are connected to extensions on each side of the frame. The bridge may made of a flexible memory alloy, such as NiTi or CuAlBe. The extensions have magnets mounted on the undersides of them. The auxiliary eyeglass frame also includes a bridge and temporal extensions. These extensions have magnets mounted to the tops of them. The magnets engage magnetically with each other to connect the auxiliary eyeglass frame to the primary eyeglass frame. The flexible bridges of the primary and auxiliary eyeglass frames assist in preventing the auxiliary eyeglass frame from becoming dislodged from the primary eyeglass frame in case it jostled by the wearer because they can withstand slight distortion.
Abstract: A modular revolving cylinder engine including at least two interdependent flywheels driven in rotation by a driving device (1) that rotates them in synchronization and in opposite directions. Each flywheel includes a plurality of equally spaced hollow pushrods that are reciprocally movable along stroke lines that are parallel and offset with respect to the central axis of rotation thereof and through which combustion gases from associated combustion chambers pass outwardly of the flywheels. End portions of the opposing pushrods engage during each rotation of the opposing flywheels during which time the oppositely directed combustion gases passing through the pushrods impinge on the outer end portion of the opposite pushrod to thereby provide thrust to drive the opposing flywheel in rotation in opposite directions.
