  • Patent number: 4809023
Abstract: An automatic lead pencil device has a casing which is releasably mountable in a bracket of a drafting machine. Within the casing, there is a clamp sleeve in which a clamping member is axially movable for clamping and releasing a lead during use of the pencil device. An axial movable lead guide tube projects outwardly of the casing in the rest position, and there is a pencil brake within the lead guide tube. The contact zone between the clamping member and the clamp sleeve is constructed so as to be of the non-self-locking type. There is an operative connection between the clamping member and the lead guide tube such that the clamping member is closed when the lead guide tube moves axially inwardly to assume the working position and opens when the lead guide tube moves axially outwardly toward a rest position.

  • Patent number: 4806746
Abstract: Process and apparatus for focussing of an optical display system in which the total of the light intensities for all the adjacent picture elements is added up and in passing through the focus area the maximum is determined from the total for a specific focussing which is then defined as focus plane, and in the adding up of each total by a preselection of the supplied signals only those brightness differences of adjacent picture elements are taken into account which make positive contributions to the adding up. The adding up and preselection is carried out by a computing device operating on an electronic basis for computing the total ##EQU1## in which x is the line position of a picture element, y the column position of the picture element, I.sub.x,y the intensity of the picture element, M the number of lines of the image and N the number of columns of the image.

  • Patent number: 4770709
Abstract: The pozzolanic properties of a pozzolanic material, more particularly a fly ash, are improved by mixing the pozzolanic material with a calciumoxyde or calciumhydroxide containing material and water in such a way that at the time of associating or bringing together the abovementioned components the mixture has or immediately attains a temperature of more than 50.degree. C., preferably at least 80.degree. C., most preferably 85.degree. to 100.degree. C.A mixture of pozzolanic material and calciumoxyde and/or calciumhydroxide may be preheated, subsequently, water being added to said mixture.Water as used may be hot water and said water is preferably added as one mass at one moment. The pozzolanic material obtained from the process of the invention is suitable as cement substitute, as material for manufacturing building articles and a binder for occluding one or more fillers to be introduced into a chemical process or one or more fillers presenting noxious properties.

  • Patent number: 4762482
Abstract: The material containers filled with a polyester material are moved in the feed device from an intake position to a discharge position by pivoting 180.degree. with the aid of a swivel frame. In the discharge position the material container is in a coaxial position between the feed cylinder and the retracted feed ram. For emptying, the feed ram passes through the hollow, cylindrical material container, which is open on both front ends, and plunges into the feed cylinder to press the material into the plasticizing unit of the injection molding machine. The material container thus forms a part of the feed cylinder and the feed ram is simultaneously used as a discharge piston, as a result of which the usually necessary, additional discharge devices and the storage space of the feed cylinder can be eliminated.

  • Patent number: 4735047
Abstract: A piston rodless working cylinder has a movable carriage upon which is mounted a compressed air driven device, such as, for example, a brake mechanism. The movable carriage is provided with a compressed air reservoir which can be recharged from a stationary compressed air source by pneumatic line connector devices which are automatically connected to the compressed air source in end positions of the carriage. This structure eliminates the necessity for flexible hose or line connections from a source of compressed air to the carriage.

  • Patent number: 4718612
Abstract: A maize chopper has a casing supported by a frame and maize-stalks are supplied to the casing. A chopping wheel has a supporting plate in the casing and rotatable around an axis of rotation and cutting elements are fixed to said supporting plate. Between the casing and a discharge duct joined to the casing brush cutters are arranged in a discharge passage for material discharged by the chopping wheel. Blades are provided at the side of the supporting plate of the chopping wheel turned away from the cutting elements and/or to the brush cutters. The width of the brush cutters, measured in the direction of the axes of rotation of the brush cutters, is smaller than the width of the discharge passage measured in the same direction such that in operation air displaced by the blades can flow beside the brush cutters through the discharge passage to the discharge duct to discharge material from the chopping wheel.
