Patent number: 7347937Abstract: A filtration cartridge having a housing with an inlet and an outlet and a filtration membrane contained within the housing and located between the inlet and the outlet is described. The membrane is sealed in such a manner that all fluid must flow through the membrane between entering the inlet and leaving the outlet of the housing. The entire cartridge, housing, membrane and any other components are all formed of one or more perfluorinated thermoplastic resins. These resins preferably are PFA, MFA, FEP and blends thereof. The membrane may be in the form of hollow fibers, wound fibers such as in a depth filter, or a flat sheet which may be formed into various configurations such as spiral filters, pleated filters, spiral pleated filters, disks and the like. These cartridges provide an inert, high temperature and acid/oxidative chemical resistant filter having properties similar to that of PTFE resins.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2000Date of Patent: March 25, 2008Assignee: Entegris, Inc.Inventors: Kwok-Shun Cheng, Cha P. Patent number: 6539588Abstract: According to one embodiment of the present invention, there is provided a lanyard construction, which includes a strap forming a closed loop of flexible material adapted to be disposed about a part of a human body. An adjustable mounting element, preferably either a slide hook assembly or a universal slide attachment, is on the loop. This mounting element is used for mounting an object to be displayed or used by the wearer of the lanyard. Finally, the lanyard construction of the present invention includes a breakaway member which defines a weak point in the strap whereat the loop may open and be pulled free from the wearer. In the present invention, the user of the lanyard selects the best location for separation of the weak point from the mounting element about the periphery of the lanyard loop. Such a location may be behind the wearer's neck, or it may be some location closer to the mounting element.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 2000Date of Patent: April 1, 2003Assignee: Comprehensive Identification Products, Inc.Inventors: Robert N. Patent number: 6423877Abstract: The present invention is directed to a new synthetic route to pseudopterosin aglycone (3): a key intermediate for the synthesis of a group of antiinflammatory natural products including pseudopterosin A (1) and E (2). The pathway of synthesis starts with the abundant and inexpensive (S)-(−)-limonene and its long-known cyclic hydroboration product (4) and leads to the chiral hydroxy ketone (6). Conversion of (6) to (10) followed by a novel aromatic annulation produced (15) which underwent highly diastereoselective cyclization to afford the protected pseudopterosin aglycone (16). The naturally occurring pseudopterosins such as (1) and (2) are readily available from this key intermediate.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 2000Date of Patent: July 23, 2002Assignee: President and Fellows of Harvard CollegeInventor: Elias J.
