Abstract: A processing device (D) acts on behalf of at least one radio terminal (UE) capable both of receiving data broadcast by a radio communication network in point-to-multipoint mode over a physical broadcast channel and according to an adaptable modulation and coding scheme, and of determining measurements representative of the radio conditions present in at least the cell in which it is located. This device (D) comprises processing means (PM) tasked with i) determining whether a measurement taken by at least one radio terminal (UE) corresponds to a status from among a set of predefined statuses, and ii) if so, to generate a message dedicated to the determined status and order the radio terminal (UE) to transmit this status message to the radio network within a portion of the time/frequency/code domain reserved within a signaling frame, for at least the cell in question.

Abstract: A printing system comprised of a printer, a plurality of processing nodes, each processing node being disposed for processing a portion of a print job into a printer dependent format, and a processing manager for spooling the print job into selectively sized chunks and assigning the chunks to selected ones of the nodes for parallel processing of the chunks by the processing nodes into the printer dependent format. The chunks are selectively sized from at least one page to an entire size of the print job in accordance with predetermined splitting factors for enhancing printer printing efficiency.

Abstract: A filtering system having a housing forming a cavity with a fluid inlet and outlet remote therefrom with a partially porous basket filled with particulate or granular polymer filtering material and the basket surrounded by a bag filter. The housing inlet receives effluent from a strainer. The particulate may be filled in a monofilament polyethylene woven mesh sleeve in the form of a removable cartridge. A pump supplied fluid to be filtered through the strainer and filter housing. The system may be mounted on a wheeled cart for portability; and, in one exemplary version, includes a wastewater reservoir connected to the strainer inlet.

Abstract: There is provided a method of triggering a handover of a mobile station in a discontinuous coverage radio network, wherein the method comprises the steps: transferring at a point in time a data volume via a first transfer zone of the discontinuous coverage radio network to a cache storage of the mobile station, wherein the data volume permits the provision of a service to the mobile station for at least the duration of a period of time, wherein the first transfer zone is the serving transfer zone of the mobile station; triggering the handover of the mobile station from the first transfer zone to a second transfer zone of the discontinuous coverage radio network only after the period of time has been spent with respect to the point in time, wherein the mobile station has been moved in the mean time from the first transfer zone to the second transfer zone.

Abstract: As set forth herein, a computer-based method is employed to align a sequences of images. Metadata associated with images from two or more sources is received and a time stamp is extracted from the metadata. The images are sorted into sequences based at least in part upon the image source. The similarity of images from disparate sequences is measured and image pairs from disparate sequences with a similarity greater than a predetermined threshold are identified. A sequence of images is aligned by minimizing the misalignment of pairs.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a printing device comprising a sheet buffer including a paper path having a plurality of nip pairs for selectively receiving and releasing a plurality of printer sheets. The plurality of nip pairs include a fixed load nip pair, a fixed unload nip pair, and at least another intermediate fixed nip pair therebetween. In a first operation each subsequent sheet of the plurality of sheets is shingled over a previous sheet wherein the plurality of sheets can be stopped in the intermediate nip pair or pairs. Individual sheets of the plurality of sheets can be advanced to the unload nip pair sequentially in a second operation whereupon the individual sheets are successively unloaded as needed in a first in first out order.

Abstract: An electronic device having enhanced heat dissipation capabilities includes an electronic device, a heat sink, a channel, a piezoelectric element, and a blade. The heat sink is in thermal communication with the electronic device. The channel includes an inlet, an outlet and a constriction disposed along the channel between the inlet and the outlet. The heat sink defines at least a portion of the channel. The blade includes a free end and an attached end. The blade is disposed in the channel and connected to the piezoelectric element. The piezoelectric element is activated to move the blade side to side in the channel to create air vortices. The constriction in the channel and the blade cooperate with one another such that a vortex that is generated as the blade moves toward a first side of the channel is compressed against the first side of the channel and expelled towards the outlet of the channel.

Abstract: A system and method of scanner characterization is provided which establishes an accurate relationship between a scanner's device-dependent (scanner) color space and a device-independent colorimetric space. A hierarchical subdivision of device-dependent color space into sub-regions is performed. The sub-regions are defined by cutting planes dividing patch color values in device-dependent color space perpendicular to principal axes. A color transformation matrix is then generated establishing the relationship between the scanner device-dependent color space and the device-independent color space for each sub-region of device-dependent color space using the patch color values and a weighting function for each matrix. Each weighting function gives a weight to each patch color value which is a function of the location of the patch color value with respect to the cutting planes defining the sub-region containing the patch color value.

A thermal shield extends from each opposite end of the arc tube and defines a radial gap with the tube. The registered vendors selectively transact with registered users, wherein the transactions include: (i) the registered vendor selling goods and/or services to the registered user; (ii) the registered vendor granting the registered user access to personal records maintained by the registered vendor; and/or (iii) the registered vendor communicating to the registered user personal information maintained by the registered vendor. The method also includes each user's identity being authenticated over the communications network prior to completion of transactions between registered vendors and registered users.

The methods and systems route the requests to a most highly ranked redundant server. The redundant servers are dynamically rank according to ranking information, wherein the ranking information may include server performance information, server response information, next step performance information, next step response information, historic information and other like information. Next step response information and next step performance information corresponds to information pertaining to servers the plurality of redundant servers depend upon. The methods and systems may further randomly re-rank the plurality of redundant servers. The methods and systems may further re-route unprocessed requests meeting non-performance criteria.
