  • Patent number: 6390958
Abstract: An apparatus for kick boxing training or punching, the apparatus comprising: a base portion providing a way of increasing the weight of the base portion; an upright portion removably and fixedly engagable with the base portion; and a cushion portion removably engagable with the upright portion and positioned for receiving hand and foot blows from an upright boxer. The base portion provides a circular base plate for resting the apparatus on a surface, and a circular sidewall, the sidewall joining the base plate in an outside radiused peripheral edge. The outside radiused peripheral edge is enabled such that a blow received by the cushion portion causes the apparatus to rotate about the radiused peripheral edge and to thereafter right itself.

  • Patent number: 6378349
Abstract: A sheet metal cutting and forming tool is used in preparing the ends of square sheet metal tubes used in building construction as framing struts and studs. The tool receives a tube end axially wherein four cutting edges sever the tube at its four corners. Two opposing curved surfaces force two corresponding opposing sides of the tubing to roll up inside the tube, while two alternate curved surfaces force the alternate corresponding opposing sides to move outwardly into slots or onto laterally oriented guide surfaces. The resultant tube end provides opposing and axially or laterally extending sides spaced apart for receiving a second tube of the same size wherein the alternate sides may be fastened to the second tube sidewall while the rolled-up ends provide great rigidity, or alternately the lateral tube ends are easily fastened to a wall or similar surface.

  • Patent number: 6370722
Abstract: A wall mounted back-scrubbing and massaging apparatus has a wall mounting plate which is bonded to a rubber sheet having a plurality of suction cups, thereby allowing the wall mounting plate to be removably attachable to a wall surface. A sponge mounting box is mounted on the wall mounting plate by a lip. Opposite the lip, the sponge mounting box provides a base and a peripheral edge, which together form a sponge mounting surface. In a first embodiment, the base and the peripheral edge removably engage a sponge. A plurality of outwardly extending fingers integral with the base, penetrate the sponge, further securing the sponge onto the base. The sponge is thus supported in spaced relationship with respect to the wall surface by the sponge mounting box so as to be in a position for convenient scrubbing of a person's skin when brought into contact with the sponge.

Abstract: An enclosure for sheltering a small aircraft, provides an arcuate roof frame supported by a base frame. The roof frame has a fixed roof portion engaging a movable roof portion and a crank system for adjusting the position of the movable roof. Wing cushions contact the wings of the small aircraft as it is backed into the enclosure and assure that the craft is properly placed. The fixed and movable roof portions are mutually engaged by a rolling clamping system enabled for directing arcuate motion of the movable roof portion relative to the fixed roof portion. A spring-biased awning is engaged with the movable roof portion and extends forwardly. A fabric cover is mounted between the fixed and movable roofs so as to deploy the fabric cover when the movable roof portion is extended.

  • Patent number: 6338512
Abstract: A shovel apparatus for digging holes has an H-shaped frame providing at one end, a handle integrally joined to the frame, and at the other end, a blade mounting support. A pair of spaced apart shovel blades are pivotally engaged with the blade mounting support for drawing the blades from essentially parallel rest positions, toward each other, to form a modified cone-shaped enclosure. A draw arm assembly is engaged for sliding within a pair of opposing slots in the H-shaped frame. The draw arm assembly is engaged with the shovel blades through a pair of links to move the shovel blades toward each other when the draw arm assembly is pulled toward the handle.

  • Patent number: 6331091
Abstract: An axle is made-up of a left and a right axle halves which axially engage to form a completed axle assemble for supporting a roller skate wheel or other rotating member. A control rod is positioned and enabled for axial translation within the axle and may be moved by physical contact with the rod through an access hole at one end of the axle. A spring normally positions the control rod so that a set of ball bearings mounted within radial holes in the axle are forced into outward positions for engaging the axle halves to form a unitary unit. When the control rod is translated against spring tension, however, the bearings are able to move radially inwardly so as to disengage the axle halves for quick disassembly for replacing a wheel or other need. The axle provides a spring bias enabled for forcefully separating the axle halves once released. A threaded cap is adjustable in its position to moderate the separating force.

  • Patent number: 6322056
Abstract: A process is supported in a mixing tank providing a partition dividing the mixing tank into two separate side-by-side cells, the mixing tank further providing a fixed ceiling. A vertical beam engages with and extends upwardly from the mixing tank above the fixed ceiling of the tank and terminates at a pivotal coupling. A supporting beam is joined medially with the pivotal coupling of the vertical beam, for see-saw type tilting motion about the vertical beam, the supporting beam providing a further pivotal coupling at each terminal end. A pair of vertical linear struts, each is pivotally coupled at an upper end with one of the pivotal couplings at the terminal ends of the supporting beam, and each rigidly is joined at a lower end to a buoyancy shell within one of the cells. Each of the linear struts passes through an aperture in the fixed ceiling of the mixing tank, so as to accommodate lateral motion of the linear struts as the support beam moves in a see-saw type tilting motion.

  • Patent number: 6322153
Abstract: An outer wheel, tire and rim, is mounted onto an inner wheel or hub and is adapted for low friction rotation on the hub. An arm is pivotally attached to the inner wheel and carries a receiver for the axle upon which the wheel is mounted so that the axle is positionable over an arc of rotation about the pivot point of the arm. The arm is biased by an elastomeric body so that as the arm moves over its arc of rotation, the elastomeric body is compressed. As the wheel rotates under load, road shocks are transferred to the biasing device which acts as a shock absorber.
