  • Patent number: 6536151
Abstract: A sidearm mounting and locking apparatus comprises a base-plate adapted for surface mounting, the plate providing spaced apart guide-plates extending from the base-plate in side-by-side juxtaposition for cradling a sidearm therebetween. The guide-plates provide aligned pin apertures and a trigger blocking-pin adapted for engaging the pin apertures and positioned for disabling a trigger of the sidearm. A barrel supporting bracket assembly engages the base plate and is positioned for receiving a barrel of the sidearm in rest thereon. The barrel supporting bracket assembly includes a barrel-pin integral thereto and positioned within the sidearm barrel. • Patent number: 6536638
Abstract: A convertible bag has a front panel peripherally engaging a rear panel. The front panel defines an harness pouch encompassing an upper portion of the front panel. A flap 60 may be positioned over the harness pouch closing it with a zipper 70. The flap 60 alternately is positionable to one side of the front panel 30 to expose a carry harness 80. The lower portion of the elongated bag 13 is adapted for folded placement exteriorly to the rear panel in positional opposition to the harness pouch. In this position the flap covers the folded lower portion 13 and the zipper 70 joins the flap 60 over the rear panel 30 thereby forming a back pack for carrying the elongated bag and other items as desired.

  • Patent number: 6536420
Abstract: Swirl is imparted to an air intake charge by a gas swirling device which may be inserted into an air intake hose or secured to a throttle body. The gas swirling device has a cylindrical body which is split along a generally longitudinally extending seam to allow the device to adjust its radial dimension. The device is formed from a single piece of bendable material and includes a plurality of swirling vanes which are formed integral with the cylindrical body of material and which are bent radially inwardly toward the central axis of the cylinder. In an embodiment for axial air flow, each of the blades is skewed relative to the axis of the cylinder for changing the direction of air flow through the cylinder and to encourage swirl in the air flow.

  • Patent number: 6537204
Abstract: A penile implant apparatus has an arced, elongated body providing a wall thickness varying circumferentially from a maximum thickness at a top longitudinally directed surface, to a minimum thickness along a pair of bottom, longitudinally directed and spaced apart edges. The body may be constructed as a single integral form or as two mirror image related half portions which are joined during implantation. The wall thickness further varies longitudinally from the maximum thickness at a proximal circumferential edge to the minimum thickness at a distal circumferential edge. The apparatus is preferably made of silicone rubber, has a length and size enabling implantation subcutaneously and provides sufficient rigidity for enabling coitus.

  • Patent number: 6532146
Abstract: A display apparatus comprises a device enclosure supporting a front panel and a monitor housing supporting a first monitor screen. The monitor housing is pivotally engaged with the device enclosure, and enabled for pivotal movement between a closed position wherein the first monitor screen is approximately parallel to the front panel, and an open position, placing the first monitor screen at an angle to the front panel. A sliding assembly supports plural further monitor screens. The further monitor screens are enabled for sliding movement between concealed positions within the monitor housing and viewing positions lateral to the monitor housing. The further monitor screens are further enabled, when placed in their viewing positions, for pivotal movement relative to the monitor assembly for improved viewing, jointly, of the plural screens.

  • Patent number: 6530163
Abstract: A plurality of stemware rings, are formed of resilient material in a loop having a pair of opposing and abutting ends. The loops are of a size for accepting a stem of a wine or other stemmed glass, and further, for being supported on a base of such a glass. The stemware rings each provide a distinctive ornamentation so as to distinguish the glasses from each other. The method includes distributing the glasses to guests with the rings engaged on the stems of the glasses so that one glass may be distinguished from the next, personalized, fitted to the occasion and other uses.

  • Patent number: 6516826
Abstract: A hydraulic flow valve apparatus having a valve body providing a valve body cavity with an eccentric sidewall. The sidewall terminates at a frontal surface of the valve body with a conical bottom surface defining a flow aperture at its apex. A sealing shaft is fitted within the cavity and is enabled for lateral movement due to the eccentric sidewall. The sealing shaft provides at one end, a rubber seat sealing the flow aperture, and at the other end, a planar surface set at an off-normal angle. A fluid actuated vane extends away from the frontal surface of the valve body and is pivotally engaged with the planar surface of the sealing shaft so as to move the sealing shaft laterally, so as to uncover the aperture when the vane is forced out of a selected preliminary alignment with the sealing shaft.

  • Patent number: 6519565
Abstract: A security method compares a present verbal utterance with a previously recorded verbal utterance by comparing time-frequency domain representations of the utterances, with multiple repeat utterances forming a basis for determining a variation in repetitious performance by an individual, and similar differences between enrollment and challenge utterances forming a basis for a similar analysis of variance between enrollment and challenge utterances. In one embodiment a set of enrollment data is searched by each challenge until either a match is made, indicating an action, possibly dependent upon the specific match, or no match is made indicating an abort. In one application an individual is accepted or rejected as an imposter, in another applicaton, a selected action is accepted as corresponding to a verbal command.

  • Patent number: 6511127
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus comprising a rigid block with two rigid arms such that there is at least one flexible flap extending from each of the arms in mutual convergent attitude and biased toward a center of the space between the rigid arms. The space between the rigid arms provides integral convexly curved surface such that it enables the invention to advantageously accept a downwardly facing surface of the rocker in line contact. The invented device, wedged between a rocker of a chair and a floor surface, receives the rocker in the space between the rigid arms, upon which the flexible flaps, having by construction bias sufficient to grip of the rocker, hold the invention on the rocker so that the chair is precluded from a rocking motion and thus is immobilized. Additionally, the apparatus' surface facing a floor surface is adapted with an anti-skidding device for contact with the floor.

  • Patent number: 6511050
Abstract: A humidifier apparatus has a source of water such as a tank, joined through an inlet valve to a manifold providing water flow from the inlet valve to a vent stack and a mist stack. The stacks extend upwardly from the manifold and are positioned for sharing a common water level. Both stacks are open at their top. An ultrasonic mist generator is positioned below the mist stack and is enabled for generating a mist within the mist stack. The vent stack provides a water sensor enabled for detecting a preferred water level in the vent and mist stacks and for controlling the inlet valve to maintain this preferred water level.
