  • Patent number: 4519764
Abstract: A method of fabricating a polycrystalline silicon wafer, which method advantageously has the steps of radially outwardly flowing molten liquid of silicon base material on the wafer forming surface of a turntable mechanism by means of centrifugal force, thereby forming a thin molten liquid layer in a prescribed atmosphere, and cooling and solidifying the same. An apparatus for fabricating the wafer is used to carry out the method with a recover tray arranged at the wafer forming surface for receiving the excessive silicon liquid scattered, and a wafer tray placed on the recovery tray, and the wafer forming surface is cooled with coolant flowing in the wafer forming mechanism. Thus, large crystalline grains can be grown on the wafer in free states with the atmosphere from the inner surfaces of the casting mold as the conventional method.

  • Patent number: 4494420
Abstract: A remotely controlled rearview mirror tilting device comprises two identical mechanisms, mounted within a housing, for converting the bidirectional rotation of motor-driven worms into rectilinear reciprocation of plungers in order to tilt a mirror holder relative to the housing about two orthogonal axes. Each rotary-to-linear converter mechanism comprises a hollow rotor integral with a worm wheel in mesh with one of the worms. The hollow rotor has an open end rotatably fitted in an opening in the housing and thereby restrained from axial displacement in one direction. For improved rainproofness and reduced frictional resistance the other end of the hollow rotor is closed and makes point contact with the housing via conical boss on either of the rotor and the housing. One of the plungers is mounted in the hollow rotor for simultaneous rotation therewith and for sliding motion in its axial direction.

  • Patent number: 4494384
Abstract: An elongated cylinder is placed towards the front end of a vehicle such as an automobile at a lower level than the air conditioning unit evaporator drain and connected to the evaporator drain by a hose. This cylinder forms a reservoir, spray units are located at the ends or top of the reservoir and, condensate from the air conditioning unit in the reservoir is forced out of the reservoir into the spray units by internally applied air pressure. Outside air created by the vehicle forward movement is captured by one or more flanged pipes and provides the source for the internally applied air pressure. Condensate spray from the cylinder directed by the vehicle radiator fan flows onto the vehicle condenser core so as to assist in removing heat from the circulating freon sending a much cooler freon back into the vehicle.
