Abstract: A cosmetic container (X) has a cap (11) that is fit externally onto a container body (1), in which a cosmetic is stored, to fully cover a to-be-covered portion of the container body (1). First and second magnets (15 and 17) are disposed respectively in the cap (11) and the container body (1) so as to oppose each other in the completely covered condition and so that the cap (11) fully covers the container body (1) by the mutual magnetic attachment of the magnets (15, 17). Each magnet (15, 17) is formed into a ring in a circumferential direction and having a plurality of magnetic poles disposed alternately in the circumferential direction.
Abstract: A process for starting a direct-injecting internal-combustion engine is disclosed. The process includes triggering a separate drive for adjusting the camshaft for causing an angular position change between the crankshaft and the camshaft until the separate drive rotates the crankshaft such that a working medium is compressed by a piston in a cylinder of the internal-combustion engine. The position of the pistons of the internal-combustion engine is determined by using position determining devices to identify the cylinder of the internal-combustion engine in which the working medium is compressed. Fuel is injected into the cylinder in which the working medium is compressed when the cylinder is in a proximity of an upper dead center to start the internal-combustion engine.

Abstract: A hygrometer and dew-point instrument is provided that is structurally simple while reducing the workload during maintenance. The hygrometer measures relative humidity of a measurement space, and has a main body that encapsulates a working fluid therein and causes a heat-pipe phenomenon. The main body is disposed across the measurement space and an external space spaced from the measurement space by a heat-insulating part and has a temperature lower than the measurement space. A first temperature deriving part derives the temperature of the main body in a section where the working fluid evaporates. A space temperature detecting unit detects the temperature of the measurement space. A computation unit calculate relative humidity of the measurement space based on the temperature of the main body derived by the first temperature deriving part and the temperature of the measurement space detected by the space temperature detecting unit.
Abstract: A pattern data storage stores a plurality of different pattern data having the same data size as bit planes. An image compressing/decoding unit calculates code amounts of the respective encoded bit planes and successively adds the code amounts of the respective bit planes in decreasing order from that of the bit plane of the most significant bit to such an extent that the sum does not exceed a limited code amount. Then, the image compressing/decoding unit selects the bit planes with highest degrees of coincidence by comparing the bit planes other those whose code amounts were added to such an extent that the sum does not exceed the limited code amount and the respective pattern data stored in the pattern data storage and replaces the bit planes by the selected pattern data.
Abstract: An image forming apparatus has an image forming station for forming an image and a display unit for displaying specified information. A mode changing section switches a mode of the image forming apparatus between a first mode for waiting on standby with a first power consumption and a second mode for waiting on standby with second power consumption lower, than the first power consumption. A determining section determines whether an image can be formed after the mode is switched from the second mode to the first mode and a starting section starts the display unit when the determining section determines that no image can be formed. A notifying section generates a display on the display unit of information indicating that no image can be formed.

A magnetism shielding member is disposed near the coil surface. A switch includes a first member to allow passage of the magnetic field and a second member to prevent passage of the magnetic field. The amount of heat for the member when the switch is in a first position where the second member is close to the magnetism shielding member is smaller than when the switch is in a second position where the second member is distanced from the magnetism shielding member.

Abstract: A terminal fitting includes an open-barrel shaped electric wire crimping section for connecting a conductor of an electric wire to the terminal fitting by crimping. The electric wire crimping section has a clamping region in a range except for both ends of the electric wire crimping section in a wiring direction of the conductor. A fixing portion is formed by displacing a part of the clamping region of the electric wire crimping section to the conductor. Locking portions are disposed at both sides of the fixing portion in the wiring direction of the conductor with the fixing portion being located between them respectively. The locking portions are configured for coupling the fixing portion and a remainder of the electric wire crimping section to each other in a step-like way.
Abstract: A seating pad assembly is provided for use by travelers to increase the comfort for a seat on a public transportation vehicle or at a public transit terminal. A system and method for ordering the seating pad assembly for a transportation seat includes at least one terminal configured for entering an identifier indicative of a type of transportation seat purchased, e.g., a class of service; a server configured for receiving the identifier, determining dimensions of the seating pad assembly based on the identifier, and generating an order to acquire the determined seating pad assembly; and a communications network for coupling the at least one terminal and the server. The terminal may be configured in the form of a computer, a kiosk or a mobile terminal. The system will allow a purchaser of a transportation seat to either purchase or rent the seating pad assembly.
