  • Patent number: 8330986
Abstract: An image forming apparatus has a printing unit for executing a single-sided print job and a double-sided print job. A storage unit stores print target data as backing sheet image data when a single-sided print job is executed. An image reading unit reads images on both sides of a document that is subjected to image processing. A backing sheet judgment unit judges whether there is an image that matches a backing sheet image among the images on both sides of the document by comparing the document image data read by the image reading unit with the backing sheet image data stored in the storage unit. An exclusion processing unit performs processing to exclude from the image processing targets an image judged by the backing sheet judgment unit to match the backing sheet image among the images on both sides of the document read by the image reading unit.

  • Patent number: 8331702
Abstract: A data compression device includes an encoding unit that generates encoded data by compressing image data in units of a band. Encoded data storage units have addresses for storing encoded data for each band and a settings receipt unit receives start address settings in the storage units. A control unit stores the data in the storage units every time encoded data for each band is generated. A start address acquisition unit acquires the start address of an empty area where encoded data is not stored. The control unit sets the start address of an empty area in a storage unit different from the storage unit where the encoded data that is being generated is to be stored. The encoding unit then starts to generate encoded data for a next band, and stores the generated data in the storage unit indicated by the start address set in the setting receipt unit.

  • Patent number: 8331515
Abstract: Provided are a clock regeneration circuit and a receiver, wherein difference values (V1, V2, V3) from an ideal value can be obtained for respective three sample data (T1, T2, T3) which are obtained by oversampling a 4-level FSK demodulated signal at a higher frequency than that of a symbol clock and in which sample data (T2) at a symbol point (P) is included at a median, and a sampling timing of the symbol point (P) is shifted toward a point where the sample data (T3) having a smaller difference value is obtained, by a time corresponding to the difference value (V2) at the symbol point. Thus, the clock regeneration circuit and the receiver are capable of regenerating a stable clock from multi-level modulated waves in a small calculation amount.

  • Patent number: 8324060
Abstract: A method is provided for fabricating a NAND flash memory array having vertical channels and sidewall gate structure and a fabricating method of the same. The NAND flash memory array has insulator strip structure and one or more semiconductor strips are next to the both sides of the insulator strip. The NAND flash memory array allows for an improvement of the integrity by decreasing the memory cell area by half and less, and solves the problems of the conventional three-dimensional structure regarding isolation between not only channels but also source/drain regions at the bottom of trenches. The method for fabricating the NAND flash memory array having a pillar structure uses the conventional CMOS process and an etching process with minimum masks, enables to cut down costs.

  • Patent number: 8325185
Abstract: To provide a rendering program, a rendering apparatus, and a rendering method, which are capable of displaying a sterical model surface using a fabric in which the real feel of material is reproduced. A reflection property measurement device 10 receives reflected light of an actual yarn T2 and measures a reflection property representing the energy of the reflected light of the yarn T2. A correction portion 106 calculates a specular reflection coefficient Ks, a glossiness coefficient p, and first and second diffuse reflection coefficients Kd1, Kd2 by using parameter fitting so that the error between the reflection property of the actual yarn and the energy of the reflected light obtained from a reflection function becomes minimum. A rendering portion 107 renders the sterical model by using the reflection function in which the coefficients are calculated and a texture which is the model of a fabric subjected to a napping treatment.
