  • Patent number: 4877288
Abstract: A lounge chair cover includes an elongated panel of fabric having lateral edges and end borders. Back or end flaps are secured to the panel at the end borders and partially along the lateral edges to define inwardly directed pockets at the ends of the panel. The pockets are dimensioned to be inserted over the ends of a standard multiposition lounge chair so that the panel covers the entire top surface area of the chair while the back or end flaps cover only the outermost portions of the underside of the chair, elastic bands being used to snug the flaps against the chair. Additional pockets are formed in the back flap for convenient storage of miscellaneous articles. A cover flap depends from the back flap border and contains a hidden pocket for the storage of valuables out of sight. A pillow pocket is formed in the panel near one end for the slidable insertion of an inflatable pillow.

  • Patent number: 4875791
Abstract: A liquid dispensing brush primarily used in dispensing liquid cleanser. The brush includes a reservoir which holds a predetermined amount of liquid cleanser and an arm with a longitudinal passage to deliver the cleanser from the reservoir to the head of the brush. The head of the brush comprises several sets of bristles and outlet means to allow the liquid cleanser to flow from the lingitudinal passage to the bristles. In order to effectuate the flow of liquid cleanser from the reservoir to the bristles, means are provided whereby the brush is tilted to raise the reservoir higher than the head of the brush. A cap, with a flexible clip for easy storage, provides the tilting necessary to effectuate fluid flow. In use, the brush is placed on a flat surface in the tilted position for a predetermined length of time to allow a sufficient amount of liquid cleanser to flow to the bristles.

  • Patent number: 4866906
Abstract: The present invention provides a device for fixedly securing a cap and body of a capsule together to thereby render the capsule tamper evident. In one form of the invention, the capsules are conveyed at spaced intervals along a predetermined path of travel through a treatment zone which is generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the capsule. An elongated bar having a tapered edge and positioned within the treatment zone engages the side of the capsule to produce an indentation in the side of the capsule which increases in depth from the entry and to the exit end of the treatment zone. This indentation around the capsule hermetically seals the cap and body of the capsule together so that the cap and body cannot be separated without destruction of the capsule. In another form of the invention, the bar is increasingly heated along its length so that, in addition to forming an indentation circumferentially around the capsule, simultaneously hermetically seals the capsule cap and body together.

  • Patent number: 4866358
Abstract: A motor control circuit for a machine, such as a granulator, having an intake adapted to receive parts to be machined. The motor control circuit detects the introduction of parts into the machine intake and automatically activates the motor for a predetermined period of time. Thereafter, the motor control circuit detects the presence of a machining operation through a vibration or sound transducer. In the absence of an output from the vibration or sound transducer, indicative that the machining operation has been completed, the motor control circuit deactivates the motor.

  • Patent number: 4863573
Abstract: In a method of forming an abrasive article a mesh material is applied with insulating material over areas which do not require abrasive, the insulating material being absorbed into the mesh material. The mesh material is then laid onto a surface of electrically conducting material and metal is electro-deposited onto the discrete areas of the mesh not bearing the insulating material. Abrasive is added so that it becomes embedded in the metal. The resulting material with metal and abrasive areas is stripped off the surface. The preferred insulating materials are ink screen printed onto the mesh, or hot melt adhesive perforated to define openings and then applied to the mesh to penetrate the mesh.

  • Patent number: 4861355
Abstract: An ion diffuser has a frusto-conical surface made of thin metal in which surface are a plurality of emitter orifices. Around the perimeter of each orifice are a plurality of raised points that are angled toward a stream of dirty gases flowing through each emitter port. Submicron particles are ionized as they pass through the orifices when the metal is energized positively from a high voltage powerpack. A fan, to which are connected filaments, rotates above the frusto-conical surface and the submicron particles are collected by the filaments.
