Abstract: A disposable sheet has a draw sheet or chux attached thereto. Preferably, the chux is constructed from three layers, a bottom, middle and top layer. The top layer is moisture permeable and the middle layer is absorbent. The top layer of the chux and the sheet itself may be integrally connected. Fluids flow through the chux top layer to the middle layer. The chux bottom layer may be waterproof to prevent fluids from leaving the middle layer. A quilted pattern may be applied to the chux to for aesthetic reasons or to direct fluid flow.
Abstract: An implement support unit for cooperating with an implement-mounting device for an implement for mounting the implement on a trailer unit. Preferably, the support unit is a three point hitch type support unit.
Abstract: A lightweight and compact headlamp adjuster is constructed primarily from plastic materials. The adjuster may include a VHAD that is non-recalibratable after the headlamp aim is factory set. The adjuster includes an input shaft that engages a gear located within a housing. When the input shaft is rotated, a ball stud moves linearly to adjust the headlamp to which it is connected. The adjuster is not subject to over-adjustment when it includes a clutching mechanism provided by the interaction of the ball stud with the gear.
Abstract: The invention provides polypeptides and nucleic acids which identify and encode LaeA, a regulator of fungal secondary metabolite production which exhibits global control over secondary metabolite biosynthetic gene clusters. The invention further provides expression vectors, host cells, methods of increasing the production of secondary metabolites in an organism naturally producing a secondary metabolite or engineered to produce a secondary metabolite, and methods of identifying novel secondary metabolite biosynthesis gene clusters.
Abstract: A headlamp assembly including a simplified adjusting mechanism for adjusting the aim of the headlamp. The mechanism includes a gear screw that is snap fit into the headlamp housing with or without an adjuster housing. The gear screw has an O-ring in radial compression so as to ensure a good seal.
Abstract: A treatment for obesity and overweight comprises administering a vitamin D analog. The analog effectively inhibits an increase in body fat to animals at risk and decreases the basal fat content of animals. The treatment has a positive effect on the lean body component such that while there is an overall decrease in body weight, there is also a decrease in percent body fat. This decrease can be proportionally greater than the overall decrease in body weight. In addition, the treatment has a positive effect on bone turnover and osteogenesis making the vitamin D analog a beneficial treatment for the symptoms of menopause. Various exemplary embodiments of the treatment use the 2-alkylidene derivatives of vitamin D3, such as the 2-alkylidene-19-nor derivatives in both the R and S configurations at carbon-20.

Abstract: A connector has a female receptacle and/or a male plug, or combination thereof. The female receptacle has a sleeve for holding prongs plugged into the receptacle and a mechanism for applying pressure against the sleeve such that actuation of the collar causes the socket to clamp to the prong. The male plug has a prong for insertion into a socket or other receptacle and a mechanism for applying pressure against the prong to clamp the prong within the socket or other receptacle.
Abstract: A web burster/inserter assembly receives a continuous supply of coupons in the form of a web where the forwardmost coupon is attached to the following coupon. The web burster/inserter separates individual coupons from the web and directs the coupons to a desired location. A ram may be used to effectuate the separation. The web burster/inserter is capable of being used with coupons of varying thickness such as plastic prizes and game pieces.
Abstract: The present invention provides an electroionic processing system having a high frequency alternating current (AC) power source for treating potable water, process water, wastewater, biosolids, sludge, primary effluent, secondary effluent, and other biochemical processing functions, including producing hydrogen peroxide and other useful chemicals. An electromagnetic field is generated and coupled to an electrolytic treatment apparatus by a direct coupling apparatus and method, a capacitive coupling apparatus and method, and an inductive coupling apparatus and method. The present invention further comprises a process controller and a plurality of analyzers for monitoring various treatment process variables to adjust and optimize the process as necessary.
Abstract: A multi-mode electromagnetic radiation emitting device comprising at least one source of electromagnetic radiation which emits radiation according to predefined or programmable user selectable instruction sets is disclosed. Reversal of the polarity of the device's power supply allows for enhanced features to be accessed including multiple instruction sets per switch setting, reprogramming mode, infra-red (covert) mode, night mode and water activation mode. A switch mechanism for providing selectable switched circuit connections is also disclosed as well as a power supply for supplying DC power to an electronic circuit comprising at least one microcontroller or microprocessor.
Abstract: A current feedback circuit in a dental imaging apparatus, which measures the x-ray tube current produced by the x-ray filament. During preheat, when the tube current is sensed to be appropriate for production of a constant rate of electrons, preheat is stopped, and diagnostic radiation emission begins. This circuit eliminates a fixed amount of preheat pulses which contribute unusable radiation during preheat of the filament in prior art systems.

Abstract: The present invention provides a single piece machined rotor comprising a shell having an upper lip and a lower lip, with a pocket formed between the upper lip and the lower lip for mounting magnets therein. The magnets are fixed in place within the inner sidewall of the rotor with an adhesive and spacers. The spacers are positioned between the magnets and are held in place on the shell of the rotor by fasteners. The spacers may be of any type of non-magnetic material that can absorb the heat of the engine. The rotor also preferably includes triggering protrusions and balancing cutouts machined into the shell of the rotor. The cutouts or grooves may be machined into the inner sidewall or the outer sidewall of the rotor. A plurality of timing teeth used for engine speed sensing maybe machined into the single piece rotor assembly. The present invention also contemplates a method of machining the entire rotor out of a single piece of material.
