A common bank having a greater width than banks between first, second, and third areas in each portion of the CF lies between two portions corresponding to a first pixel and an adjacent second pixel. A portion of a CF layer formed with respect to an outermost area among the areas of the first pixel and covering a top surface of a bank closest to the second pixel extends towards the second pixel and has a greater length than a portion of the CF layer formed with respect to the outermost area that covers a top surface of a bank opposing the bank closest to the second pixel.
Abstract: High color rendition (Ra?80) and high efficiency (??100 (1 m/W)) which are effects conflicting to each other in a metal halide lamp are attained. An arc tube formed of translucent ceramics, capillaries are formed continuously on the both ends of an arc chamber formed substantially in an ellipsoidal shape in the direction of the longitudinal axis by way of a transition curve with no angled corner, and the arc tube is designed to effective length L/effective inner diameter D of 1.8 to 2.2, and formed to such a size that the lowest temperature of the arc chamber is 800° C. or higher and the highest temperature of the arc chamber is 1200° C. or lower during lighting, and at least thulium iodide, thallium iodide, sodium iodide, and calcium iodide are sealed as metal halides where sodium iodide and calcium iodide are sealed by a molar ratio of 40 to 80% and less than 30%, respectively, based on the entire metal halides.
Abstract: Providing asset-based logging by setting a flag for an identified asset and a transaction includes generating a first detailed log for logging activity related to the identified asset and the transaction by a first application implemented on a first node. A transaction identifier, the flag, and any of the identified asset, information generated by the first application implemented on the first node, information provided to the first application implemented on the first node and a representation of the identified asset is passed to at least one downstream application implemented on at least one second node. Detailed logs generated by the at least one downstream application are correlated with the first detailed log.

Abstract: The invention relates to a rivet (2) for connecting workpieces (11, 12), in particular a blind rivet, having a sleeve (1) with a shank (5) and a widened preformed head (13) adjoining thereto, and optionally a rivet mandrel (8) with a head (9), wherein an end of the shank (5) lying opposite the preformed head (13) if necessary can be deformed to form a driven head by drawing the rivet mandrel (8) into the sleeve (1). In order that during the placement of a rivet (2) a gap (10) between the rivet (2) and workpieces (11, 12) to be connected can be closed and a highly loadable connection can be achieved, at least one indentation (3) running axially and/or at least one slot running axially are provided in the shank (5), which indentation (3) or which slot (4) during the placement of the rivet (2) causes a radial expansion of the shank (5) of the sleeve (1) towards the workpieces (11, 12).
Abstract: A fixed code book (FCB) search device simplifies an error minimizing process and reduces a calculation amount so as to prevent deterioration of a coding performance. The FCB search device includes a pulse shape convolution inverse filter having an inverse feature of a pulse diffusion filter and supplied with an ideal residual signal; a pulse candidate preparatory selector that pre-selects a plurality of pulse candidates from the ideal residual signal to which the inverse filter is applied; and a pulse candidate final selector that finally selects one pulse from the selected candidates. Using this configuration, a search is made for an algebra code book to which the pulse diffusion is applied.
Abstract: An encoding device includes: a frequency region converter which converts an inputted audio signal into a frequency region; a band selector which selects a quantization object band from a plurality of sub bands obtained by dividing the frequency region; and a shape quantizer which quantizes the shape of the frequency region parameter of the quantization object band. When a prediction encoding presence/absence determiner determines that the number of common sub bands between the quantization object band and the quantization object band selected in the past is not smaller than a predetermined value, a gain quantizer performs prediction encoding on the gain of the frequency region parameter of the quantization object band. When the number of common sub bands is smaller than the predetermined value, the gain quantizer non-predictively encodes the gain of the frequency region parameter of the quantization object band.
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting a break in a warp yarn in a loom includes a heald, a heald frame, a carrier rod, a sensor, a controller and a signal line. The heald is made of a resin material for guiding a warp yarn. The heald frame performs a shedding operation of warp yarns and has the carrier rod for supporting a plurality of the healds. The sensor is provided in the heald for sensing a deformation of the heald caused by a tension of the warp yarn and outputting a signal. The controller is provided for determining a condition of the break in the warp yarn based on the signal of the sensor. The signal line electrically connects to the sensor and the controller.
Abstract: An encoding device improves the sound quality of a stereo signal while maintaining a low bit rate. The encoding device includes: an LP inverse filter which LP-inverse-filters a left signal L(n) by using an inverse quantization linear prediction coefficient AdM(z) of a monaural signal; a T/F conversion unit which converts the left sound source signal Le(n) from a temporal region to a frequency region; an inverse quantizer which inverse-quantizes encoded information Mqe; spectrum division units which divide a high-frequency component of the sound source signal Mde(f) and the left signal Le(f) into a plurality of bands; and scale factor calculation units which calculate scale factors ai and ssi by using a monaural sound source signal Mdeh,i(f), a left sound source signal Leh,i(f), Mdeh,i(f), and right sound source signal Reh,i(f) of each divided band.

Abstract: An electric shaver includes a rod-shaped body part, a head part, and a link mechanism. The head part projects from one end portion, in a longitudinal direction, of the body part and is swingably attached to the body part with a support base between the body part and the head part. The head part includes a shaving portion and a drive mechanism. The shaving portion is formed to be elongated in a direction orthogonal to a projecting direction of the head part and has paired blades configured to operate relative to each other. The drive mechanism is configured to drive at least one of the paired blades. The link mechanism includes two link arms each connected to the support base and the head part respectively at connecting axes parallel to a longitudinal direction of the shaving portion. The link mechanism is configured to support the head part on the support base swingably.
Abstract: A discharge lamp lighting device includes: a power converting circuit including a step-down chopper circuit and a polarity inversion circuit configured to convert an output from the step-down chopper circuit to a rectangular-wave alternating-current voltage, and thus to apply the rectangular-wave alternating-current voltage to a discharge lamp; and a memory configured to store a history of an output from the power converting circuit in a previous stable lighting mode. A control circuit controls on and off of each of switching elements in the step-down chopper circuit and the polarity inversion circuit, and thereby changes the output from the power converting circuit in a predetermined time period after the lamp starts lighting until reaching a stable lighting state on the basis of the history stored in the memory, so that a rise of a lamp voltage is suppressed. This enables extension of the lifespan of the lamp and suppression of the occurrence of arc jump.
Abstract: A playback time axis of a video stream is composed of a plurality of frame periods. To overlay a rendered image with a stereoscopic video image to be displayed in the i-th frame period, a process of writing to a left-view plan memory and a process of writing to a right-view plane memory both need to be completed before the start of the i-th frame period. To simultaneously request the two rendering processes, the argument of an application interface includes a pair of specifications, one specifying writing to the left-view plane memory and the other specifying writing to the right-view plane memory.
Abstract: A scanning endoscope, comprising a first transmitter, an actuator, and a mirror, is provided. The first transmitter emits a beam of radiant light from an emission end. The actuator moves the emission end in a direction perpendicular to an emission direction. The mirror is arranged from the emission end in the emission direction when the emission end is on a predetermined standard point. The mirror comprises a reflection surface around a first straight line. The distance between a first position on the first straight line to any second position on the reflection surface increases as the first position is moved in the first direction. The reflection surface reflects the radiant light emitted from the first transmitter toward the observation area around the first straight line.
Abstract: A vector quantization apparatus performs coding of a linear predictive coding coefficient by multi-stage vector quantization. A first codebook and a second codebook store code vectors, and a storing section stores scalars. A first quantizing section extracts a first code vector stored in the first codebook and performs first stage quantization for quantizing a target vector using the first code vector. A second quantizing section extracts a second code vector stored in the second codebook, calculates a third code vector by multiplying the second code vector and one of the scalars stored in the storing section, performs distance calculation using the target vector, the first code vector and the third code vector, and performs second stage quantization for quantizing the target vector using a result of the distance calculation. Each scalar stored in the storing section is associated with at least one of the vectors stored in the first codebook.
Abstract: A high frequency treatment tool for an endoscope includes a flexible insulating tube to be inserted into and pulled out of an accessory channel of the endoscope, the flexible insulating tube including a wire insertion channel and a water channel through which water is conveyed, a conductive wire configured to move back and forth in an axis line direction thereof through the wire insertion channel, and an electrode configured to project and recede from a distal end of the flexible insulating tube. Abstract: A process is provided for producing an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer by which impurities such as catalyst residue and by-products and solvent are removed to a high degree. A high-quality, homogeneous product can be efficiently produced by including a washing step including: introducing a paste containing an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer and an alcohol into a washing tank; applying a shear force to the paste to knead the paste while contacting the paste with washing water so that a surface of the paste is repeatedly displaced by an inner part thereof; and discharging the alcohol to an outside of the tank together with the washing water to obtain a water-containing ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer composition having a small alcohol content.
