  • Patent number: 5799340
Abstract: A uni-sex water conserving urinal which has a bowl which is engageable with a hanger on or near the toilet. A flush plate directs water into the bowl. In use, the bowl is detached and moved to a position of use which is permitted by the flexible waste and water supply line. The water supply is from a reservoir in the hanger. The reservoir may include a pump for manually pressurizing the flushing water. Flush water may be supplied by manually filling the reservoir or by connecting the reservoir across a valve to a water supply. A universal connector may be used to connect the waste line from the bowl into an existing drain line.

  • Patent number: 5795103
Abstract: A system for recovering petroleum products such as oil from a sunken oil transportation vessel. The system includes first and second flexible conduits communicating with the oil-containing compartments. The conduits are released upon the vessel becoming submerged. The free ends of the conduits are connected respectively to a pump for pumping sea water into the compartment to displace the oil. The second conduit is connected to a recovery container on the surface. The displaced oil is forced through the second conduit to the recovery container. The recovery container is, in the preferred embodiment, provided on a fleet or network of recovery vessels which then transport the recovered oil to port for off-loading. In the preferred embodiment, the flexible conduits are associated with a float which releases or carries the conduits to the surface so that underwater recovery operations are minimized.

  • Patent number: 5787839
Abstract: A multiple compartment container designed to contain and carry pet food and water when on trips or traveling. The lower compartment of the container is an insulated unit designed to contain a supply of water. The upper compartment of the container comprises a dish compartment designed to hold food which may be closed by a sealing cover. The dish compartment sits on the lower compartment and forms a closure for the lower compartment. The upper compartment is removable from the lower compartment so the lower and upper compartments may be separately used for feeding or watering an animal as required. The container has a pivotal handle that provides ease of transport and locks the upper compartment in place for carrying. The handle may be pivoted to the container to selectively lock or unlock the compartments. A cover for the upper compartment is rotatable between an open and a closed position which seals the contents in the dish of the upper compartment.

  • Patent number: 5788806
Abstract: A multi-purpose laminating and adhesive transfer apparatus having a frame supporting rotatably engaging nip rollers. A replaceable cartridge is insertable into the frame and has upper and lower feed rolls which may be a laminate, film or paper, or an adhesively coated film or a film having an affinity for adhesive. The upper and lower feed rolls containing the webs of laminating or adhesive transfer material have tensioning caps which can be adjusted to provide the proper tensioning to prevent the rollers from overrunning as they rotate. Tensioning caps and the cartridges are pre-set and provided to the user. A cutter blade is positioned at the discharge side of the nip rollers and may be actuated to sever the master at any desired location. The apparatus may be operated to apply lamination to either top or bottom surfaces of a substrate or an adhesive to the top or bottom surface of the substrate or to both surfaces.

  • Patent number: 5782806
Abstract: An irrigation system for use primarily with in situ bypass and valvulotomy procedures. The system includes access to both the proximal and distal ends of a length of vein and allows for irrigation flow to be provided from proximal to distal, distal to proximal or to both proximal and distal ends of the vein simultaneously. The use of the irrigation system provides for a clear field of view by angioscope during medical procedures. Introducers are also described which may be used with the irrigation system or with many other procedures which require access to an internal body conduit.

  • Patent number: 5758527
Abstract: A high security deadbolt assembly for a door which bolt has a housing extending from the edge of the door inwardly of the transverse bore between the door surface. A deadbolt is reciprocable in the housing and has a recess at its inner end. A cylindrical drive member is rotatively supported in the housing and is located with or is aligned with the deadbolt recess. The drive member carries a stop and is connected to the bolt by a linkage. When locked, a substantial portion of the length of the bolt remains engaged in the bolt housing and door so that attempts at forcing the bolt to the unlocked position are resisted by the stop which stop engages an internal surface of the bolt recess. The components are made from high strength materials and the deadbolt assembly may be retrofit to existing lock cylinders with a minimum of installation modifications.

  • Patent number: 5758513
Abstract: A portable insulated cooler system for beverages which includes one or more bottles containing a freezable coolant refrigerant. The bottles define recesses for receiving the housed beverage containers. An insulated casing or liner extends about the bottle to maintain and contain containers in a cool condition for an extended period of time. The bottles and casing are inserted into a fabric carrying case for convenience of the user. The carrying case, bottles and insulative casing may be configured so that the cooler may be comfortably carried by the user in a manner similar to a "fanny pack". In other embodiments, the bottles containing the refrigerant are identical one to the other and are positioned in face-to-face relationship to form a plurality of cooling chambers. The cooler may also be placed in another article for transportation such as within the large side pocket of a golf bag.

  • Patent number: 5757269
Abstract: A closure latch or bolt monitoring device having a housing mountable in a closure frame which housing receives a latch or bolt. A pivotal rocker plate is normally biased to a rest position in which a flange portion of the rocker engages a switch connectable to an alarm system. When a latch or bolt is extended into the housing, the rocker plate is pivoted causing it to disengage from the switch providing an indication to the alarm system that the bolt or latch is properly engaged in the closure. An alternate embodiment allows separate monitoring of two lock components such as a separate bolt and latch.

  • Patent number: 5746660
Abstract: A tilt and roll support for pool tables and other game tables having a frame attached to the underside of the table. The opposite ends of the frame have pivot shafts which are axially aligned with the longitudinal axis of the table. Support assemblies at the ends of the table are pivotally about the pivot shafts so the table may be rotated between a vertical stored position and a horizontal use position. The lower portion of the support assemblies are retractable against the bottom of the table for storage and may be extended to a vertical position. The lower portion of the support assemblies are on rollers or casters and are extendible so the weight of the table may be transferred to the tilt and roll supports for movement and storage. When the table is in use, the table is supported on conventional legs.
