Abstract: A shingle stripping tool having a wheel supported frame including a rearwardly extending handle with a grip at the upper end. A power transmission includes a drive shaft extending along the handle which is driven by a motor. A reciprocally driven blade is supported on a sliding fulcrum. The blade is connected to the gear wheels at an eccentric arrangement whereby the blade is driven in a reciprocal and rotating motion to strip and clear debris.
Abstract: A work piece guide and retention device for use with a power saw or similar power tool. The guide attaches to the power saw table and has one or more vacuum chambers having orifices. When a vacuum from a source such as a shop vacuum is applied to the chamber, a suction force is generated at the orifices which will serve to secure a work piece snugly against the guide to assist the operator.
Abstract: A shoring device for supporting trench side walls during construction. The shoring device has opposite shoring shields having conventionally located spreaders adjacent the upper edge of the shields and a second pair of spreaders disposed at an upper location. A pair of auxiliary spreaders are associated with the shield assembly. Each auxiliary spreader member consists of a structural member having connectors at opposite ends which are detachably securable to the interior walls of the shields at a location below the horizontal center line of the shields to substantially increase the shield capacity. The auxiliary spreaders would be used primarily when the maximum pipe clearance is not required to achieve a greater load factor.

Abstract: A stand for locking the front wheel of a vehicle, such as a motorcycle, in a stable position. The stand has front and rear support mechanisms which, in a preferred embodiment, are actuated by a ramp so that the weight of the front wheel of the motorcycle as it is rolled onto the ramp will actuate the front and rear supports to engage the tire at locations forward and rearward of the wheel axis of rotation.
Abstract: A fluorescent light fixture or luminaire having a housing which has hinge assemblies which pivotally support a mounting plate. The hinge assembly allows the mounting plate on which the lamps and ballasts are mounted to be pivoted to a generally vertical service position or latched in a horizontal use position within the housing. A selected number of lamp sockets can be selectively secured to the plate to receive the lamps. Reflectors and lamp stand-offs may be secured to the mounting plate at bendable tabs formed in the mounting plate. The light fixture is adapted for use with standard or high efficiency compact lamps.
Abstract: A bench-type weight support having racks at opposite sides of a bench. The racks support adjustable saddles which receive weights such as dumbbells. The saddles are angularly disposed to provide the proper alignment when grasped by a user from a supine position. In the preferred embodiment, the bench has a seat and a back which are independently adjustable to provide a wide range of exercising positions.
Abstract: A practice targeting and shooting system having a laser emitter and a light detector which is attachable to a shotgun. Reusable, reflective disc-like targets are launched by a thrower. The shooter arms the shotgun and actuates the emitter. If a predetermined portion of the light beam strikes the target, it is reflected and sensed by the detector which registers a "hit" by a suitable audible and/or visual signal.
Abstract: A hand sanding block for use with an endless abrasive belt of the type normally used with power sanders. The block has a body and a slidable nose which is biased outwardly. A pin limits the outward travel of the nose relative to the body. A detent is provided so the nose may be temporarily secured in a retracted position for ease of loading and unloading sanding belts.
Abstract: A tool, such as an electromagnetic pick-up tool, having a housing with a compartment which contains a power supply. The housing receives an elongate wand which carries a light or magnet and which is electrically connected to the power supply at terminal posts within the housing. The wand is retained from rotation by an anti-rotation lug or by projections which pinch the wand. The invention may also be used to couple other electro-mechanical components.
Abstract: A molded combination storage unit and truck bed liner. A cover which is mounted on rollers and is rearwardly slidable. Storage compartments are defined below the cover. Panels or partitions may be inserted at spaced-apart locations to form subcompartments between the cover and the floor. The panels reinforce the cover to permit heavier loads to be carried on the cover. In alternate embodiments, the cover may be hinged and slidable drawers may be inserted into the storage compartments.
Abstract: A holder for an aerosol chemical defense spray. The holder may take different forms and has the appearance of or is part of another device such as a pager, flashlight, baton or handgun. In a preferred embodiment, the aerosol canister is housed in a holder which is attached to a conventional electronic beeper. The holder is readily accessible and does not alert bystanders that the wearer is carrying a defense spray. The various embodiments of the invention include a safety mechanism to prevent the inadvertent or accidental discharge of the chemical spray.
Abstract: A foldable bench type seating assembly is disclosed which may be retracted to a stored out-of-the-way position. A seat support is securable to a wall at a bracket. The seat support is pivotally attached to a leg. When the seating is folded, the seat support moves to a position with the seat cushion outwardly disposed and with the leg also closely adjacent the wall. The seating assembly may be provided with single or multiple level seating.
Abstract: A face shield assembly to protect the wearer from contaminants and airborne particles. The shield assembly includes a visor having a head-engaging band and a forwardly extending bill portion which, in the preferred embodiment, defines a light passing area which in the preferred form of the invention comprises a plurality of apertures. The band carries attachment means in the form of outwardly extending studs which engage arcuate slots and apertures in the transparent shield. The transparent shield is fabricated from a flexible plastic and in a use-position is spaced from the face of the wearer and extends above and below the visor for protection. The attachment means allow the visor to be pivoted upwardly to an out-of-the-way position when the headband is in place on the wearers head. The apertures also permit air circulation for the comfort of the wearer and to minimize fogging of the shield.
Abstract: An apparatus and method of attracting and trapping insects which includes an elongate strip of trapping material having a sticky substance thereon. In one embodiment, the trapping material is provided as two adjacent plies which are unwound from a feed roll across feed rollers to a take-up roller. A trapping area is provided between the feed rollers. The supply and feed rollers and take-up rollers may be contained in a cartridge which is disposable. The cartridge can be inserted in a housing having auxiliary components such as electrical components and lighting. In alternate embodiments, the trapping material may be a filament-like material or may be tubular material which is provided in flattened form and expanded to tubular shape in the trapping area and thereafter rewound on the take-up roll.
Abstract: A convertible golf bag having a club-receiving carry bag detachably securable to a staff bag component with a portion of the exterior of the carry bag forming a part of the exterior of the assembled bag. When secured together, the resulting bag has the appearance and convenience of a large staff bag. The carry bag may be used separately as a light-weight bag. Various accessories including a pull cart, rain cover and personalized panels may be incorporated.
Abstract: An apparatus and method of attracting and trapping insects which includes an elongate strip of trapping material having a sticky substance thereon. In one embodiment, the trapping material provides a tubular trapping area. The trapping material is unwound from a feed roll across feed rollers to a take-up roller. The trapping area is provided between the feed rollers. The supply and feed rollers and take-up rollers may be contained in a cartridge which is disposable. The cartridge can be inserted in a housing having auxiliary components such as electrical components and lighting. The drive motor may be provided for automatically and intermittently advancing the take-up roller such that new sections of trapping material are automatically advanced into the trapping section, thereby maintaining fresh attractant substance exposed to insects.
