Abstract: A method and apparatus for converting digital input signal to analog voltage are disclosed herein. The converting apparatus includes the following devices device. One of the pair of reference voltage selecting means is used to select a first voltage level as a first power source. Similarly, a second voltage level is selected as a second power source. The pair of controlled selectively coupling devices couples the first power source or the second power source as the charge power source responding to voltage level of every bit of the second portion of the digital input signal. The voltage cumulating device is used to generate the analog voltage by alternatively charging and redistributing the output capacitor with the first and the second capacitor. • Patent number: 6256548
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for controlling lots' dispatch of tool groups, and all the lots can be transferred to correct places for further processing. The lots are transferred to the storage places of the tool when there is only a single tool for the next process. A decision step is performed for deciding whether the storage places of the next tool group and the next-next tool group overlap when the next process contains a tool group. If there are overlapped storage places, then the lots will be moved to the overlapped storage place having minimum loading. When there is no overlapped storage place, the lots will be dispatched to the storage place having minimum loading among the next tool group. All the lots can be processed with at minimum moving steps, and all the tools perform their processes under balance loading whenever the productions increase or decrease.

  • Patent number: 6251338
Abstract: A pivot device for supporting a working device is disclosed. The pivot device has a load-bearing structure, an arm and a control rod. A first end of the arm is pivotably mounted in the load-bearing structure. The working device is pivotably connected to the second end of the arm. A first end of the control rod is hinged to the pivotable working device. A hinged quadrangle acts as a pivot point for the second end of the control rod. The quadrangle encompasses the load-bearing structure as a chassis, the arm acting as a driven element, as well as two coupling elements which close the quadrangle. The control rod is hinged, by its second end, to one of the two coupling elements. When the arm pivots, the pivot point of the second end of the control rod remains on the same side of the arm, so that the control rod does not cross the arm during pivoting.

  • Patent number: 6242357
Abstract: A method of forming a DRAM cell with a trench capacitor over a semiconductor substrate comprises the following steps. First, an etching step is performed to form a trench structure in the substrate, wherein the trench structure has a bottom and sidewalls, and the sidewalls are adjacent to the bottom. Then, the trench structure is doped to form a doping region on the bottom and a portion of the sidewalls. A selective etching step is performed to remove a portion of the doping region, wherein a selectivity of the doping region is higher than that of undoped sidewalls. A dielectric layer is formed on a top surface of the trench structure. A conducting layer is then formed in the trench structure. Next, a gate structure is formed on the substrate. A doping step is used to form the drain/source structures adjacent to the gate. A strap region is formed to couple the conducting layer and the drain/source structures.

  • Patent number: 6243181
Abstract: Collisions between solitons in different frequency channels are one of the major sources of errors in transmission systems that utilize wavelength division multiplexing (WDM). Moreover, because standard transmission lines have lumped amplification, the four-wave mixing fields from soliton collisions grow uncontrollably, adding amplitude and timing jitter to the jitter due to ideal soliton collisions. These problems are addressed by using a specific dispersion map to implement dispersion management, by which it is possible to significantly reduce the collision-induced timing jitter and to improve system performance even in comparison with that provided by an ideal, exponentially decreasing dispersion fiber.

  • Patent number: 6230616
Abstract: A storage device for receiving a loop section of a flexible material web (8) moved in a conveying direction (18) between a feed area upstream of the storage device and a discharge area downstream thereof is described, the material web speeds at least periodically differing from one another in the feed area and the discharge area. The speed differences are compensated by a length change of the loop section stored in the storage device. On the feed side the storage device has a first pulling device formed by a suction belt (35, 55) and on the discharge side a separate, second pulling device formed by a parallel suction belt (35, 56). As a result of the parallel suction belts the drawn-in loop section is securely held by vacuum over most of its length, whereas between the pulling devices a tensile force-free loop partial section (4a) is moved to and fro in the store longitudinal direction with substantially no shape change in accordance with the store filling.

  • Patent number: 6231237
Abstract: A container is constructed from a pouch having a front sheet, a rear sheet and a bottom sheet. The bottom sheet of the pouch is folded along a midline thereof with flaps extending downward from the fold line. Each of the bottom edges of the flaps are welded to or integral with one bottom edge of either the front or the rear sheet. Lateral edges of the front and rear sheets are welded to one another with the bottom two portions of the welded edges sandwiching both lateral edges of the bottom folded sheet. To construct the container, a central portion of the bottom sheet is unfolded such that the unfolded portion has an essentially rectangular shape, thus forming said base, with central parts of the bottom edges of the bottom sheet forming the front and rear edges of the base and with peripheral portions of the bottom sheet forming two overlapping triangular portions with the bottom edges thereof defining the two side edges of the base.

  • Patent number: 6225834
Abstract: The present invention relates to a bit line sense amplifier for a semiconductor memory device, and in particular to a data sense amplifier which can increase a data sensing speed and improve an operational speed of a chip by using a current sensing method in data-sensing a bit line having a large capacitive load. The bit line sense amplifier according to the present invention includes: a switch unit interrupting a capacitive load of the bit line; a charging current generating unit rapidly generating a charging current to a sense amp output terminal; and an output potential control unit rapidly converting a potential of the sense amp output terminal to a ground voltage level or a power voltage level. As a result, even if a large capacitive load is applied to the bit line, a high-speed charging operation can be carried out, thereby improving the operational speed of the chip.

  • Patent number: 6226215
Abstract: Disclosed is a semiconductor memory device comprising a precharging unit between bit lines within a memory cell region and bit lines within a sense amplifier region, respectively. When performing a column operation on the bit lines within the sense amplifier region upon consecutive read operations, the bit lines within the memory cell region are precharged and a wordline is disabled, and thus the memory cell region comes to the ready to enable a new wordline. Accordingly, the timing of row and column operations can be reduced, thereby reducing a data access time and realizing a high speed operation.

  • Patent number: 6225719
Abstract: A long electrical motor mainly for submersible use having a high efficiency, being mechanically stable, capable of being assembled under low time consumption at low costs, and which is easy to maintain and repair. The long motor has a rotor divided into sections with at least one low friction bearing arranged between the sections and in each end of the long motor. A stator is stacked continuously past internal bearings using thin sheets of metal discs between the bearings. Each disc in the bearing pedestal is significantly thicker than the common stator discs and is made of paramagnetic metal with good heat transfer properties. The inner diameter of each disc in the bearing pedestal is smaller than the inner diameter of the common stator discs so that a bearing inserted into the bearing pedestal is held by a tight fit. The inner diameter of the bearing fits tightly to the axis of the rotor and slots for the stator windings in all metal discs are radially open towards the rotor.
