  • Patent number: 4642842
Abstract: A rotary scrubber-polisher base has a pair of vacuum liquid pickup attachment supporting mounts mounted from opposite side portions of the base and including laterally outwardly projecting mounting shanks for support of opposite side portions of the attachment therefrom. During periods of non-use of the attachment the latter is removed, but the mounting shanks therefor project outwardly from opposite sides of the scrubber-polisher base and thus prevent those opposite sides from moving into close proximity relative to stationary objects. The mounts are supported from the base in a manner such that they may be readily angularly displaced approximately 90.degree. relative to the base to thereby swing the mounting shanks fully inwardly of the opposite side peripheral portions of the base from which the mounts are supported.

  • Patent number: 4641822
Abstract: A pair of uprights are provided and disposed in laterally spaced relation. The uprights are interconnected at their lower ends by a horizontal base projecting considerably rearwardly, only, from the uprights and each of the uprights includes front and rear standards. The front standards support a horizontal fulcrum rest extending therebetween and the rear standards support a horizontal abutment member extending therebetween and vertically ajdustable therealong. The abutment member is disposed at an elevation above the elevation of the fulcrum rest and the outwardly projecting portion of the base includes platform structure from which a considerable weight load as may be represented by large rocks may be supported. Elongated logs to be cut may have short base ends thereof engaged beneath the abutment member and over the fulcrum rest with the opposite longer free ends of the logs projecting considerably outwardly from the side of the uprights remote from the sides thereof from which the base projects.

  • Patent number: 4641637
Abstract: Apparatus for use by a person lying on a support surface to enable the person to apply spinal traction to him or herself, the apparatus comprises a generally U-shaped frame with parallel side rails and a somewhat elevated crossbar connecting the side rails, a flat, seat-forming carriage mounted for back and forth adjustment along the rails, a cord grip on the crossbar, a hip-encompassing belt for a user, and a cord for extending from the base of the belt through the cord grip. With this form of the apparatus, the user places the belt around the hips, sits on the carriage, and with the knees slightly flexed engages the cord in the cord grip under minimum tension. The user then lies back, grips the carriage and exerts pressure with the feet against footrests on the crossbar so as to straighten the legs and move the carriage back along the rails thereby increasing the cord tension and applying spinal traction to the lower back.

  • Patent number: 4641837
Abstract: An elongated support frame is provided including front and rear ends. The front end supports a seat portion therefrom for adjustable positioning therealong and the rear marginal portion of the seat portion swingably mounts the lower end of an inclined backrest portion therefrom for angular displacement about a horizontal axis extending transversely of the support frame. The upper end of an upstanding prop is pivotally anchored to the upper free swinging end of the backrest portion and anchor structure is mounted from the rear of the support frame for angular displacement relative thereto about a horizontal transverse axis. The anchor structure defines an upstanding sleeve through which the lower end of the prop is slidably received and the sleeve is spaced forward of the axis of rotation of the anchor structure relative to the frame.

  • Patent number: 4640460
Abstract: A pair of CO.sub.2 snow forming nozzles are provided within a tank for receiving CO.sub.2 snow and the nozzles are mounted in an upper portion of the tank with their outlet ends directly opposing each other and spaced apart approximately 121/2 inches. A supply of liquid CO.sub.2 at approximately 300 psi is communicated with the inlet ends of the nozzles for simultaneous discharge of CO.sub.2 gas from the nozzle outlet ends and opposing impact of the discharges of CO.sub.2 from the nozzle outlet ends in an impact area disposed centrally between the nozzle outlet ends. In addition, the liquid CO.sub.2 is communicated with the inlet ends of the nozzles through a supply line therefor constructed of good heat transfer material and including an intermediate length portion passing centrally through the area of opposing impact of the discharges of CO.sub.2 from the nozzle outlet ends, thereby chilling the supply line to an extent sufficient to reduce the temperature of the liquid CO.sub.

  • Patent number: 4630371
Abstract: A radially short upstanding sleeve member is provided and includes an upper end releasably mounted from a rounded base portion of a sector-shaped debris shield of a line trimmer. The lower end of the sleeve member is loosely telescoped downwardly over the upper end of the line reel head of the line trimmer and an intermediate length portion of the sleeve member includes an inwardly projecting corrugation functioning to stiffen the sleeve member against radial deformity. • Patent number: 4630593
Abstract: A barbecue grill combined with a fire retarding screen suspended in vertically spaced relation to a bed of coals and below the cooking grill for barbecuing and smoking meats and vegetables placed on the grill. The fire retarding screen includes metal wire woven to form a mesh with small openings to retard flame passage and provide greater heat intensity for cooking the food at a faster rate with the high heat intensity of the screen causing any grease or fat drippings from the food to be dissipated on contact with the screen thereby eliminating accumulation or build up of flammable grease or fat drippings so that flames caused by such drippings becoming ignited will not burn or char food. This enables the outer edges and surfaces of the food to become crisp while the inner portion remains moist.
