Abstract: Yellow pigments having a greenish hue are represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 may be the same or different from one another and each is hydrogen, halogen (chlorine, fluorine or bromine), lower alkyl or alkoxy having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms; and wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 may be the same or different from one another and each is the residue from an acyl-acetyl-amino-aromatic coupling agent or the residue from a pyrazolone coupling agent. Pigments are obtained by coupling of (1) an aceto-acetyl-amino-aromatic compound or (2) of a pyrazoline, with a 4,4'-diamino-benzanilide. The yellow pigments have the characteristic of having a high tintorial yield, a high degree of purity of tone (brightness), a good fastness to light, and good resistance to organic solvents. These pigments are particularly useful in the polychrome graphic industry.

Abstract: A flocked laminate useful for number markings on baseball uniforms and appliques on children's garments, bags, etc. The laminate has a layer of an adhesive composed of a polymer emulsion and a finely divided synthetic resin admixed with the polymer emulsion, having hotmelt adhering properties, and indentical or compatible with the synthetic resin providing a base layer. The laminate exhibits outstanding adhering properties and resistance to washing when placed on an article and heat-pressed.
Abstract: There are disclosed certain novel imidazo(2,1-b)thiazoles, their physiologically acceptable acid addition--or quaternary ammonium salts and a process for their preparation. Said compounds show a good anti-diabetic activity.
Abstract: N-Substituted N-carboxyanhydrides of .alpha.-amino acids, useful in peptide syntheses, and peptide synthesis process using such compounds, are disclosed. The N-substituent is penta(lower alkoxy)benzyl, or optionally substituted 9-xanthyl, 9-thioxanthyl or 9-selenoxanthyl.

Abstract: A head (12) for incorporation in a strobed liquid display is disclosed. The head comprises a housing (30) defining a chamber (38), the housing (30) having an inlet opening (39) for connection to a liquid supply, a top wall (32) having a vent (42), a bottom wall (34) having a plurality of apertures (44) spaced from and distributed about the center thereof for accommodating the outflow of liquid droplets from the chamber (38), and a sidewall (36) extending between the top and bottom walls (32, (34). The head (12) also includes a vibrating device rigidly connected to the housing (30) for imparting a periodic wobble thereto for dispensing the droplets through the apertures (44) in sequential fashion with substantially uniform spacing between successive droplets dispensed through each aperture (44), whereby the dispensed droplets substantially define a helix. A strobe liquid display system (10) incorporating the head (12) is also disclosed.
Abstract: A new class of antitumor glycoside antibiotics of the formula (IA): ##STR1## wherein R is hydrogen or hydroxy; and X is ##STR2## These compounds are prepared, using novel intermediates, by condensing the appropriate aglycone and branched-chain aminodeoxy sugar to form the .alpha.-glycosidic linkage.

Abstract: Disclosed are 2-(syn)-hydroxyimino-acetamide derivatives of the formula: ##STR1## wherein Y is hydrogen, hydroxyl, an acyloxy, carbamoyloxy, a quaternary ammonium or a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring-substituted thio group; or pharmaceutically acceptable salts or esters thereof are useful as antibacterial agents. Also disclosed are processes for producing them.
Abstract: An interactive cable television system, such as a one-way system, in which a plurality of subscribers are simultaneously provided with multi-information television programming and regular television programming independently selectably directly receivable by the individual subscribers on the television reception channels of a conventional multichannel television receiver. The multi-information television programming comprises a plurality of different program information message signals related in time and content to each other and each transmitted at a different associated communication frequency which corresponds to a different television reception channel associated frequency, with regular television programming being simultaneously provided at one or more further different television reception channel frequency.
Abstract: An interactive cable television system, such as a one way system, simultaneously provides both regular television programmings for one or more television reception channels and subscriber selectable multi-information television programming for a designated common one of those channels to a plurality of subscribers. Each individual subscriber having a multi-information interface network connected to the multichannel television receiver input may independently choose between reception of the regular television programming on any of the channels, including the designated common channel, and reception of the multi-information television programming which comprises a plurality of multi-information packets. Each packet comprises a plurality of simultaneously transmitted different information message signals which are related in real time and content to each other but which are transmitted at a different frequency from each other and from the associated frequencies of the television reception channels.

Abstract: A wound bandage comprises a two-part bandage frame having an upper frame member and a separable lower frame member, with the upper frame member having a wound dressing attached thereto and being removably securable to the lower frame member to enable periodic changing of the dressing or inspection or treatment of the wound while the lower frame member remains affixed around the wound framing the area to be treated. The lower frame member may be held in place around the wound by sutures threaded through apertures in lobes on the lower frame member. This arrangement finds particular application in difficult to bandage wounds such as found on animals.
Abstract: A closure for securing the flap of a bag to the front wall thereof comprises a link having a thru-opening, means for hingeably securing the link to the flap, a strap dimensioned to pass through the opening, and means for securing one end of the strap to the front wall of the bag, the strap being comprised of an elastic, semi-rigid material biased to a folded position. In the closed position, the strap is in the folded position, the portion of the strap between its free end and the bight of the fold extends through the opening and the portion of the strap between the bight of the fold and the secured end overlies the edge portion of the flap.
