Abstract: The invention relates to the concentration of useful minerals and may be used in the concentration of iron ores. The magnetic hydroseparator includes a body with an upper drain, a supply device, a driving scraping device, set up with the possibility of interacting with the inner surface of an annular magnetic system and made with a changing number of revolutions, the annular magnetic system being set up within the upper part of the body, an unloading device with a washing device made with the possibility of regulating the supply of the washing liquid, gas or mixture of these, the lower part of the body being made in the shape of a cone. The claimed invention permits increasing the efficiency of concentration. One dependent claim, two illustrations.

Abstract: The present invention provides novel hybrid polymer optical alignment layers for inducing alignment of a liquid crystal medium. Hybrid polymers of this invention comprise at least one component of a macromonomer or polymer within the class of polyimide, polyamic acids and esters thereof, and at least one additional component from the group consisting of an addition monomer, monomers and addition polymer that are covalently bonded with the first component to form a copolymer. The invention further describes liquid crystal displays comprising the novel branched hybrid polymer optical alignment layers.

Abstract: A fiber optic feed-through tube, a method for making it and a method for hermetically sealing and aligning lightwave waveguides inserted into the tube. The feed-through tube is preferably a metal tube with low melting point hermetic sealing material deposited on one end and the lightwave waveguide is an optical glass fiber.
