Abstract: Polyester-based aqueous coating compositions comprising a mixture of a carboxyl-functional polyester resin (A), a water-insoluble epoxy resin (B), and a hydrophobic solvent (C), the mixture being neutralized with neutralizer (D) and dispersed or dissolved in water. The compositions have excellent film forming and processing characteristics, and are particularly useful in coating the interior surface of cans and as automobile coatings.
Abstract: A MOS-type capacitor includes a semiconductor substrate of a first conductive type serving as a first electrode, a conductor layer formed on the semiconductor substrate via a capacitive insulation film and serving as a second electrode, and an impurity region of a second conductive type formed in the vicinity of the surface of the semiconductor substrate at a location in proximity to a region facing the conductor layer. The MOS-type capacitor is used as a variable capacitor in a VCO (voltage-controlled oscillator) having a widened frequency range.
Abstract: Laminates of having a first outer layer of polyvinyl fluoride, at least one mid layer, and a second outer layer of polyvinyl fluoride, ethylene vinyl acetate or polyolefin with a surface of ionomer. The laminates are particularly useful for protecting photovoltaic cells, solar panels, and circuit boards.
Abstract: A composition of thermoplastic polymer and powdered dried carbide lime. The composition may also be a composition comprising (a) 5-60 parts by weight of powdered dried carbide lime; (b) 20 -95 parts by weight of at least one thermoplastic material selected from the group consisting of thermoplastic polymer, thermoplastic elastomer, and thermoplastic rubber; and (c) 0-60 parts by weight of at least one additive selected from lubricants; stabiliser; antioxidants; plasticisers; pigments and dyes; anti-blocking, anti-static, blowing and release agents; flame-retardants; impact modifiers; coupling and wetting agents; other processing aids and fibrous reinforcing agents. Processes for preparing the powdered dried carbide lime for use as fillers in plastics are also disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a recoil pad for a firearm. The recoil pad includes a solid viscoelastic core, preferably formed using a polymer gel, and having a cross sectional shape substantially similar to that of the stock to which the recoil pad is mounted. The recoil pad further includes a covering enclosing at least a portion of the core with the covering having substantially the same shape as the core.
Abstract: An effective method for producing 1,2-naphthoquinone-2-diazide-4-sulfonyl chloride at high yield, wherein formation of impurities is prevented. The method includes the following steps: 1,2-naphthoquinone-2-diazide is reacted with chlorosulfuric acid, to thereby produce a mixture of a sulfonated compound and a chlorosulfonated compound of the diazide; and to the mixture, at least one substance selected from among thionyl chloride and phosphorus pentachloride is added for further reaction, to thereby obtain 1,2-naphthoquinone-2-diazide-4-sulfonyl chloride.
Abstract: The present invention is a shotgun undercarriage, for use in conjunction with a top receiver, barrel, fire control, carrier assembly, magazine assembly, and action system. The undercarriage has an integral and unitary stock, bottom receiver and forearm. The stock is adaptable for housing an action spring; the bottom receiver has at least one opening for mounting the fire control, the carrier assembly and the top receiver; and the forearm has a magazine housing. The bottom receiver and forearm cooperate to form at least one mounting surface capable of receiving the barrel and the top receiver.
Abstract: A lockable safety mechanism for use in a wide variety of firearms and moveable among a safe position, a fire position, and a safe and locked position.
Abstract: A locking mechanism for use in a wide variety of firearms to assist in securing the firearm from unauthorized use, the locking mechanism being rotatable between an unlocked position where it allows movement of the firing pin and a locked position where it prevents movement of the firing pin.
Abstract: A nonvolatile memory includes paired memory elements each including a storage transistor having a control gate and a floating gate. Through a write operation, one of the storage transistors is brought into a depletion state and the other storage transistor is brought into an enhancement state. Subsequently, a connection transistor is operated in order to serially connect the paired memory elements. As result, a binary signal corresponding to the statuses of the paired storage transistors is outputted.
Abstract: A process for aligning liquid crystals adjacent to a surface of an optical alignment layer comprising: exposing at least one optical alignment layer, comprising anisotropically absorbing molecules, to polarized light; the polarized light having a wavelength within the absorption band of said anisotropically absorbing molecules; wherein the exposed anisotropically absorbing molecules induce alignment of a liquid crystal medium at an angle + and − with respect to the direction of the polarization of the incident light beam and along the surface of the optical alignment layer; and applying a liquid crystal medium to said optical alignment layer; wherein said anisotropically absorbing molecules consist essentially of diary ketones, is described.
