Abstract: A safe which is attachable to a motor vehicle. The safe may have a door bearing a lock which is centered on the door so that access to the lock is equal from opposed sides of the safe. The safe may have a slide-out drawer which rides on a track, in which case the track and drawer are centered within the safe. The drawer may be locked by a lock which is centered within one face of the drawer. The safe may have a mounting flange bearing at least one hole for engaging a retention element such as threaded fasteners or a tether.
Abstract: An identification structure of a tool with two colors includes a tool body having an engaging surface, and an identification ring. The identification ring is made of elastic polymer, composed of an inner layer and an outer layer having diverse colors. The identification ring is mounted around the engaging surface of the tool body, having the outer layer fitted in an intermediate portion of the inner layer to make an upper and a lower edge of the inner layer extending outside the outer layer. So, the two edges of the inner layer have the same color and the intermediate portion of the identification ring has two different colors, keeping them apt to be recognized.
Abstract: Method of and apparatus for indexing a workpiece to a tool at a predetermined angle of orientation, using a bubble level to establish a horizontal reference plane. The bubble level may be pivotally fixed to a housing of a jig which may incorporate a magnet for adhering the housing to a magnetically responsive workpiece. The bubble level may be secured at a particular pivotal orientation such that when the workpiece is held against the cutting or abrading surface of a tool, the workpiece may be manually maintained at the predetermined angle of orientation such that a ground surface disposed at a predetermined angle on the workpiece may be formed while holding the workpiece manually. The jig may incorporate an adjustable leg to assist in tightening the bubble level at the particular pivotal orientation.
Abstract: An injection device such as a syringe, which has a helical flow path for a solution in which the solvent and solute have been introduced. The helical flow path is formed by a helically configured member which has general overall configuration of a helical coil spring. Individual coils may be formed to have a groove located along the length of the helix. When compressed, the novel member effectively takes on a cylindrical outer configuration. Because the groove is covered and sealed by the surface of the next turn of the helix when compressed, an enclosed helical flow path is formed in the compressed member. The invention may be an injection device using the novel flow path forming member or alternatively, the flow path forming member itself.
Abstract: A two part bracket for mounting a light bar to an environmental surface. The bracket may comprise two mirror image platforms or members hinged to one another to move from an open condition to a closed or folded condition. Each platform may have a plurality of holes for passing fasteners to fix the platform to the light bar or to the environmental surface. In the closed conditioner, the bracket obstructs casual access to these fasteners. Each platform has an eye which aligns with the eye of the other platform when the bracket is in the closed condition, to receive the shackle of a padlock for example. Each platform includes pads which abut pads of the other to oppose collapse of the bracket due to weight loads.
Abstract: A system according to the present invention including a main utility distribution panel which through corresponding circuit breakers, directly powers facility power line circuits which remain powered continuously, and an ‘off-peak’ utility distribution panel being powered by the main utility distribution panel through a contactor (relay, switch, etc.) controlled by a 24 hour timer, and the ‘off-peak’ utility distribution panel in turn powers facility power line circuits which may be de-energized to provide zero power draw from the main utility distribution panel during a selected time period as provided by the timer, which generally corresponds to periods when the facility is unoccupied and/or the equipment and appliances are turned off.
Abstract: An improved way of using radiographic imagery to capture internal characteristics of a concrete structure, wherein radiographic film is placed on one side of the concrete structure and X-rays are transmitted towards the film from the other side. A target which is selectively radiographically impervious may be interposed to generate location or guidance indicia on the film. The target may itself be non-symmetric, such as being L-shaped, or alternatively or in addition, the location indicia may be non-symmetrically located on the target or alternatively, may be arrayed about the circumference of the target similar to numerals of a clock face. Imagery resulting from radiographic imagery may or may not display inclusions and other anomalies of the concrete structure.
Abstract: A helmet including a lighting system integrated into said helmet, the lighting system comprising a first layer; light emitting means mounted to said first layer; controller means mounted to said first layer for controlling said light emitting means; wiring means for linking said light emitting means to said controller means; a second layer fixably attached to said first layer thereby providing an area between said first and second layer for said light emitting means, controller means, and wiring means; power means fixably attached to said second layer for powering said controller and light emitting means; and operating means functionally linked to said controller means for operating said controller means. The application also discloses lighting system contained in a shell that that can be attached to an existing helmet.
Abstract: A lockable torque-limiting driver that includes, a body, a sleeve, a shaft carried by the body for rotation relative thereto and having a fastener-engaging tip at one end that projects from the body, a torque-limiting mechanism coupled to the shaft and housed within said body, a torque-adjusting mechanism within the body and coupled to the torque-limiting mechanism for adjusting the torque-limiting mechanism to a desired torque value, a torque-locking mechanism operably coupled with the torque-adjusting mechanism and the body or the sleeve for preventing movement of the torque-determining means and locking the settable torque-limiting driver at the desired torque value.
