    Abstract: A flash memory and a manufacturing method and an operating method thereof are provided. The flash memory includes a substrate, a charge-trapping structure, a first gate, a second gate, a third gate, a first doped region and a second doped region. The substrate has a protrusion portion. The charge-trapping structure is disposed over the substrate. The first gate and the second gate are disposed respectively over the charge-trapping structure at two sides of the protrusion portion. The top surfaces of the first gate and the second gate are lower than the top surface of the charge-trapping structure located on the top of the protrusion portion. The third gate is disposed over the charge-trapping structure located on the top of the protrusion portion. The first doped region and the second doped region are disposed respectively in the substrate at two sides of the protrusion portion.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a photomask is described. The graphic data of the photomask are provided, and than an optical proximity correction is performed to the graphic data. A process rule check is then performed to the graphic data with the optical proximity correction. When at least one failed pattern not passing the process rule check is found in the graphic data, a repair procedure is performed only to the failed pattern so that the failed pattern can pass the process rule check. The patterns of the photomask are then formed according to the corrected and repaired graphic data.

    Abstract: The disclosed LCOS device comprises a transparent composite plate, a planar liquid crystal cell, a base plate which contains an active matrix driving circuitry. In the basic embodiment, the planar liquid crystal cell comprises a conductive seal ring which encloses liquid crystal filling and connects the transparent conductive layer underneath the transparent composite plate with the base plate and the active matrix driving circuitry. In the extended embodiment, the base plate further incorporates a set of thru-substrate via and backside bond pads. The set of thru-substrate via electrically connect a set of input-output pads of the active matrix driving circuitry to the bottom bond pads underneath the base plate. In addition, the conductive seal ring electrically connects the transparent conductive film placed underneath the transparent front plane plate, preferably made of glass, to the active matrix driving circuitry on the base plate.

    Abstract: An ink cartridge for an inkjet printer is provided. The ink cartridge includes a light detection portion, a first triangular prism and a second triangular prism, made of transparent material and disposed on the light detection portion, for receiving, deflecting, or refracting light emitted by a light emitting element on the printer. Two surfaces of the second triangular prism contact ink in the ink cartridge. When the ink cartridge has ink contained therein and is installed into a printer, the light emitted by the light emitting element is totally reflected by the first triangular prism and refracted by the second triangular prism into the ink, and will not be received by a light receiving element on the printer. When the ink in the ink cartridge is exhausted, the light is totally reflected by the second triangular prism onto the first triangular prism, and then is reflected onto the light receiving element, and thus the printer detects that the ink is exhausted.

The LED chip is disposed on the reflective layer and electrically connected to the carrier. The junction coating is disposed over the spacer and covers the LED chip. The phosphor particles are distributed within the junction coating. The encapsulant is disposed on the carrier and encapsulates the LED chip, the spacer and the junction coating. Uniform light output and high illuminating efficiency can be obtained by the phosphor particles uniformly distributed in the junction coating. The junction coating is formed by package level dispensing process to reduce the fabrication cost.

    Abstract: A fan controlling circuit is provided. The fan controlling circuit includes an integral unit, an operational amplifier, a PMOS transistor, and an NMOS transistor. The integral unit transforms pulse width modulation (PWM) signals to voltages, and transmits the voltages to positive and negative input terminals of the operational amplifier. The PMOS transistor is coupled between a first PWM signal and an output terminal, and a gate of the PMOS transistor is coupled to an output of the operational amplifier. The NMOS transistor is coupled between a second PWM signal and the output terminal, and a gate of the NMOS transistor is coupled to the output of the operational amplifier. The fan controlling circuit may be formed by discrete elements and use a same voltage source as fans, so that the design cost and complexity are reduced.

As described above, data loss caused by read disturb can be effectively prevented.

The first substrate and the second substrate are assembled, and the liquid crystal mixture is filled therebetween. A polymerization curing process is performed such that the liquid crystal monomer having the functional group of diacrylates is polymerized to respectively form a liquid crystal polymer film on the aligned surfaces of the first and second substrates. The method enhances anchoring energy and reduces problems of V-T shift, surface gliding, and residual image.
