  • Patent number: 7952508
Abstract: Class-D amplifiers have evolved from using binary pulse-width modulation (PWM) modulators to three-level PWM modulators. Three-level PWM drivers for audio applications offer the benefits of eliminating costly elements at the output of an audio system. However, they also introduce increased common-mode interference. Three-level PWM generates three states, but one state has two interchangeable representations which can be scrambled in order to shape the common-mode output spectrum.

  • Patent number: 7953655
Abstract: A reverse auction method and system are provided for non-commodity goods, services, and systems. A purchaser creates a description of goods, services and/or systems required by the purchaser and sends the description to a number of potential vendors. In response, the vendors prepare an offer template provided by the purchaser showing the components and services proposed by each vendor and prices associated therewith for supplying the required goods, services or systems. The proposal/offer from each vendor is adjusted to ensure that the offer from each vendor will produce a similar and acceptable result. A downward bidding increments session sets downward bidding that is allowed by the vendor during a subsequent auction process. Each vendor executes a contract that is binding on the vendor if the vendor's bid during a subsequent auction process is accepted as the lowest bid. An auction is held in which each vendor bids against other vendors using the pre-negotiated downward bidding increments.

  • Patent number: 7945924
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for detecting distribution of multimedia content. The volume level of data traffic is monitored for a plurality of users to select any users with high-bandwidth usage. The time of day and the day of the week may be considered when determining whether a user is a high-bandwidth user. Upon selecting a user as one with high-bandwidth usage, such user may be subject to packet inspections of data traffic streams. In some embodiments, content identification parameters or watermarks are added to one or more packets in a data traffic stream carrying multimedia content.

  • Patent number: 7941110
Abstract: A disclosed RF circuit includes a power amplifier that produces an RF output signal, a detector to generate a detector signal indicative of a power of the RF output signal, and an offset unit to produce an offset signal that indicates low supply voltage conditions. The power of the RF output signal is reduced, at least in part, by a control signal reflecting a combination of the detector signal and the offset signal. The circuit may include a transmitter to provide an RF input signal to the power amplifier. The transmitter may receive the control signal and adjust a power of the RF input signal based on the control signal. The detector may produce a control current indicative of the RF output signal power. The offset unit produces the offset signal based on a difference between the supply voltage and a nominal supply voltage value.

  • Patent number: 7941694
Abstract: An asymmetric data mirroring method with a local storage device and a remote storage device being separated by large distances is disclosed. A server determines a predetermined time period associated with a round trip latency between the server and a remote storage device. The server submits a request to a local storage device, a remote storage device and a memory device disposed between the server and the remote storage device. The server submits additional requests to the local and remote storage devices during the predetermined time period. The server stores a copy of each request submitted by the server to the remote storage device in a memory disposed between the server and the remote storage device while the server waits for whether an acknowledgement associated with the request has been received from the remote storage device during the predetermined time period. The server resubmits the request and the additional requests to the remote storage device if the acknowledgement is not received.

  • Patent number: 7922133
Abstract: A flat panel display (FPD) support has a supporting bracket, a connecting assembly pivotally connected to the supporting bracket and a pulling assembly mounted between the supporting bracket and the connecting assembly. The connecting assembly is attached to an FPD to allow the supporting bracket to hold the FPD on a plane. The pulling assembly pulls the supporting bracket toward the panel bracket and a weight of the FPD allows the FPD and the supporting bracket leaning to each other to stay in a specific angle. Therefore, a visual angle of the FPD relative to a plane is easily adjusted by the supporting assembly. The FPD with the FPD support is light, simple and portable and is conveniently packaged for sale or transportation and does not occupy a large area when in use.

  • Patent number: 7912201
Abstract: A method of providing a caller with a directory assistance dialog. The dialog is configurable, at any level of the dialog, from an automated speech recognition (ASR) dialog to an operator-assisted (OP) dialog. The dialog is handed off to an operator if any level of the speech recognition dialog fails. • Patent number: 7911608
Abstract: A new method and strategy for the quantitative determination of enantiomeric purity that combines polarimetry, spectroscopy, and chemometric modeling. Spectral data is collected after a light beam is passed through a first polarimeter, a sample of a chiral compound, and a second polarimeter oriented at a 45 degree angle relative to the first polarimeter. The spectral data for samples of known enantiomeric composition is subjected to a type of multivariate regression modeling known as partial least squares (“PLS-1”) regression. The PLS-1 regression produces a mathematical model that can be used to predict the enantiomeric composition of a set of samples of unknown enantiomeric purity.
