Abstract: The present invention provides a process for preparing urethanes from primary or secondary amines, carbon dioxide and a diolefin. The amine is reacted with carbon dioxide to form the ammonium carbamate salt which is then reacted with a stoichiometric amount of a diolefin coordinated to palladium(II).
Abstract: A method of producing medium density granular sodium phosphates by agglomerating STP fines with mineral acids, drying the agglomerated fines and screening to recover the dry agglomerated fines.
Abstract: The invention relates to aqueous stable liquid bleaching compositions comprising a sulfone peroxycarboxylic acid, an anionic surfactant, a non-ionic surfactant and optionally a salt stabilizer.
Abstract: Disclosed herein are 2- or 6-fluoromethyl-3-pyridinecarboxylate derivatives with 3- or 5-dialkylamino substitution which are useful as herbicides.
Abstract: There is disclosed an improved process for preparing 1-hydroxy-3-oxa-1,2,4,5-pentane tetracarboxylic acid and 3,6-dioxa-1,2,4,5,7,8-octane hexacarboxylic acid wherein the reaction mixture has a solids concentration of above about 60%, by weight whereby the amount of by-product fumarate is reduced.
Abstract: Novel compounds represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein R represents hydrogen, optionally substituted alkyl radicals having from 1 to about 10 carbon atoms, optionally substituted alkenyl radicals having from 1 to about 10 carbon atoms, optionally substituted aryl, alkaryl and aralkyl radicals having from about 6 to about 16 carbon atoms and optionally substituted acyl and acyloxy radicals having from about 1 to about 10 carbon atoms, manifest glycosidase inhibition activity.

Abstract: Disclosed are pyridine herbicides characterized by substitution with a fluorine-containing methyl group at the 2- or 6-position, a carboxylic acid-derived group at the 3-position, and a halogen or a substituted nitrogen-containing group at the 5-position.
Abstract: There is disclosed a process from producing granular sodium tripolyphosphate of predetermined particle size by means of calcining sodium orthophosphate dried from water solution and milled to a predetermined particle size. The tripolyphosphate is produced having approximately the same particle size distribution as the orthophosphate feed. Moisturizing the feed prior to calcining increases the assay of the product.

Abstract: Process for preparing .alpha.-arylpropionic acids by catalytically asymmetrically hydrogenating .alpha.-arylpropenoic acids utilizing an asymmetric hydrogenation catalyst at low temperatures and, optionally, at high pressures.
Abstract: Disclosed herein are herbicidal pyridine compounds substituted at the 3- and/or 5-position with a carboxylic acid-derived heterocyclic moiety, as well as herbicidal compositions and use of these compounds.
Abstract: There are disclosed novel 2,6-substituted-3,5-pyridinedicarboxylic acids, esters, salts, amides, halides, and cyano compounds useful as herbicides, and as intermediates which provide herbicides.
Abstract: Transgenic plants are disclosed which are resistant to virus infection by Potato Virus X and Potato Virus Y. Plant genes and transformation vectors are also disclosed. Potato plants, for example, Russet Burbank variety, are made resistant to dual infection by Potato Virus X and Potato Virus Y by transforming the plant to express the coat proteins of the two viruses.
Abstract: Disclosed herein are substituted pyridine-3-monocarboxylate compounds in which a substituent is bonded to the pyridine ring at the 5-position through an oxygen atom.
