Abstract: A sixteen level power supply including four voltage sources having stepped voltage values. The voltage sources are controlled by an electronic switch assembly and may be switched into series between the positive and negative output voltage terminals. The switches are controlled by a controller circuit which monitors voltage available at each voltage source in comparison to a demand signal. The controller output a digital control bit to activate each switch.
Abstract: A demand valve for a respirator. A fixed tube directs pressurized air flow from the source into an opening for a mask. The venturi effect caused by directed air flow through the housing acts to draw the diaphragm toward the respirator face mask. A portion of the air directed by the tube escapes and is directed over the tube by a hinged three sided arm. Air flow so directed by the arm creates a low pressure area within the arm thus pulling the arm toward the tube. The arm is in engagement with the stem of an air valve which when the arm is drawn toward the tube opens the valve to provide continued air flow into the mask without continued effort on the user's behalf.
Abstract: A latch for slidable window panels of a vehicle. The latch includes a rotatable handle carried by one window panel and a cam part carried by the other window panel. The handle engages the cam part as the handle is rotated to draw the slidable window panels together. The handle defines a narrowing channel which engages the cam part as the window handle is rotated from an open position to a locked position. The narrowing channel, formed by a thickening outer side wall of the handle, draws the cam and its connected window toward the handle. Detents are provided to impart a positive snap feel to the handle when rotated into either its opened or closed positions.

Abstract: A motorized convertible seat-bed to electrically shift the seat-bed from between its seat position and its bed position. The seat-bed including a drive unit and a pair of mounting plates connected to a seat support and back support pivotally interconnected by a pivot pin. The drive unit including a worm gear and slide assembly having a worm gear follower wherein rotation of the worm gear causes the slide assembly to shift along a longitudinal track carried by the frame side of the seat bed. A pivoted drive arm is interconnected between the slide assembly and the pivot pin such that as the slide assembly is shifted from its fully extended position to its fully retracted position the drive arm applies an upward force on the pivot pin to pivot the plates and supports into a bed position.
Abstract: This invention comprises an improved mechanism for latching telescoping articles together and for releasing them from such a condition by the act of rotating them with respect to each other. The mechanism includes a pair of pawls interconnected to each other by a spring in such a manner that the latch heads of the pawls are urged in a plane in opposite directions by action of the spring. The invention is illustrated and described in the context of a table which is mounted to the floor of a vehicle, vessel or the like.
Abstract: An improved seal at the junction of a pipe or tube to an opening formed in a flat wall or in the wall of a cylindrical or rounded container, including axially tapered exterior and interior peripheral surfaces. The tapers of such surfaces being different one from the other and being of such a degree that, when the seal is inserted into the opening in the receiving member and the pipe is inserted therethrough, the material from which such seal is fabricated is forced to bulge around the periphery of the opening, thereby securing the pipe in the opening and perfecting the seal therebetween.

Abstract: A channel and locking end tip for vinyl tube strip lighting. The tip includes a locking nib which is positioned within a channel opening for preventing the tip from shifting relative to the channel. To remove the tip, its outer end is pivoted upwardly such that the locking nib is spaced slightly above the channel bottom wall. A screw hole is provided through the tip body and channel for mounting. The vinyl tube light overlies the flange when carried by the channel. The mounting screw is external of the lighting bed such that the strip light may be fully assembled by the manufacturer and installed by the user with minimum effort.
Abstract: An anti-lift/anti-twist hinge which includes a bracket having a wall and a pair of spaced converging flanges. The flanges have aligned openings therein for accommodating a hinge pin. The hinge bracket is attached to a gate and prevents the upward rooted or rubbed shifting of the gate and bracket by the interfering fit between the pin and bracket. When tightened against the gate the bracket flattens a side wall of the supporting gate tube to prevent twisting of the bracket relative to the tube.
Abstract: A pneumatic label stapling gun including a label feed attachment and a cutting device which rapidly feeds a label into alignment with the staple gun head and severs the label from the remainder of the label roll after stapling. A pair of pneumatic cylinders are included and are connected to a common spool valve. One pneumatic cylinder is connected to a label advance head which reciprocates within the attachment housing to rapidly advance label into position. The other cylinder is connected to a cutter device which severs the stapled label from the remainder of the roll. The labels have spaced notches which are engaged by a protrusion carried by a spring which engages the label on its upward movement to prevent the labels from shifting the advance head as the head is retracted to engage the next label.

Abstract: A mooring and maneuvering device which includes an elongated rigid pole having an improved boat hook at the distal end thereof and further including a flexible loop movable from an operative position to facilitate the securing of said device to a mooring post and an inoperative position wherein said loop is pivoted back upon and secured to said pole to permit the use of the device for other purposes.
Abstract: A method of producing a closed end seamless liquid pervious article, such as filter bags, by rotating a mandrel in the flow path of a quanity of melted micro-woven filaments to collect the filaments upon the mandrel in multiple layers.
Abstract: A voice enhancer system for a car includes a pair of microphones positioned adjacent to the front seats of the car, and a pair of loudspeakers positioned adjacent to the rear seats. The microphones are connected to the loudspeakers, via an amplifier/electrical conditioning unit, by electrical wiring positioned behind the car's upholstery. The conditioning unit, which includes filters and a frequency shifter is adjusted to prevent acoustical `howl-around` within the enclosure of the car. For voice enhancement from the rear to the front of the car, microphones may be positioned adjacent to the rear seats, and loudspeakers may be positioned adjacent to the front seats, these components being connected together, via a second amplifier/electrical conditioning unit, by electrical wiring.

Abstract: A lighting system mounted to public transportation vehicles which includes a multiple directional light positioned above the exit door of the vehicle so as to provide illumination for the ground or pavement in front of the exit door to aid and assist passengers entering or departing the vehicle.
Abstract: A fluid valve structure which combines anti-siphon and anti-backflow features in a single element. The valve utilizes an insert which separates the valve body into two distinct and non-communicating chambers, permits the flow of air through one of the chambers and fluid through the other and fixes a flexible flapper-type diaphragm over the entry passages into the chambers. Due to the flexibility of the diaphragm and the independence of the chambers, that portion of the diaphragm in each chamber operates independently of the other in response to varying conditions of pressure and flow.
Abstract: A fish protection system comprises a plurality of guard plates and support means for supporting the guard plates on the surround of a fish pond so as to position the guard plates around the perimeter of the pond at or slightly above the water level. The support means is such that any given guard plate will tilt downwardly if subjected to a downwards force of a predetermined magnitude.
Abstract: An irradiation device which includes a radiation source arranged within a housing and a filter arranged in the ray path of the radiation source which consists of two transparent, essentially plane-parallel discs. The discs are held in a frame and a medium which selectively influences the spectrum of the rays of the radiation source is provided between the discs. A plurality of outwardly projecting cooling fins are arranged on the outer circumference of the frame and serve in conjunction with the medium between the disc and the frame to dissipate heat from the medium.
