  • Patent number: 5839644
Abstract: An improved fluid fitting made from a portion of copper tubing has at least one annular cavity disposed in its inner periphery adjacent to each open end of the fitting. Solder is disposed in and substantially fills the at least one annular without extending beyond the inner periphery of the fitting. The fitting is fabricated by being placed in a die having a hollow with at least one annular depression. A first mandrel is placed into the fitting, with annular cavity forming ball members in substantial alignment with the at least annular depression of the hollow. The ball members are used to form the at least one annular cavity in the inner periphery of the fitting. A second mandrel has an aperture that substantially aligns with the at least one formed annular cavity and molten solder is injected into the at least one annular cavity through the second mandrel, to substantially fill the at least one annular cavity.

  • Patent number: 5822958
Abstract: A sanitary fill tube assembly includes an oval fill tube connected between an oval inlet tube and an oval spreader having a hollow interior with a piston valve member reciprocally mounted therein. The piston valve member is actuated by a plunger rod and is guided by a pair of arcuate guide slots formed in the spreader to accurately move the piston valve between open and closed position. The plunger rod and the piston valve member may include elongated internal passages therein and the piston valve member closely fits into a discharge outlet from the hollow interior of the spreader to accurately control and meter material being fed into a pouch. The piston valve member may be provided with a sharpened leading edge to cut off particulate material contacted thereby.

  • Patent number: 5810836
Abstract: A stent for insertion into a heart wall for Trans Myocardial Revascularization (TMR) thereof. The TMR stent provides for the delivery of blood nutrients from a heart chamber into the heart wall and has an elongated body which may contain a cavity and openings through the elongated body from the cavity. The elongated body should be in fluid communication with the heart chamber. If a cavity and openings are provided, the openings are in fluid communication with the heart chamber, the cavity and the heart wall. The TMR stent may include an anchoring element integrally formed thereon for securing the TMR stent in the heart wall.

  • Patent number: 5785097
Abstract: Chain link material for use in fences and other various applications are formed with flattened end portions so as to improve the handling and safety characteristics thereof. The flattened end portions of the chain link fence are formed by trimming, bending and then securing together cut ends of the wire forming the chain link material. This trimming, bending and securing is preferably performed in end flattening assemblies held on either side of a chain link material weaving machine, which assemblies are moveable into and out of contact with the cut ends of the wires in the chain link material so as to trim, bend and then secure the bent ends together by twisting, welding or clipping the same together.

  • Patent number: 5784863
Abstract: A sanitary fill tube assembly includes a pair of large diameter fill tubes connected to a spreader having a rotary valve system mounted therein. The rotary valve system is actuated by pairs of actuator arms guided through openings in a manifold connected to the fill tubes to precisely move the rotary valve between open and closed position. The rotary valve includes elongated openings therein which are closely matched with and connected to the same size and shape passageways and discharge openings in the spreader so as to more accurately control and meter material being fed into a pouch, and to maintain the overall assembly in a sanitary condition.

  • Patent number: 5775221
Abstract: A printing machine has a box frame rotatably holding an attachment arm to which various size workpiece supporting means may be connected. A series of screen frames are secured over a workpiece support, secured to the attachment arm in exact registration, so that numerous colors may be sequentially printed on a material held on the workpiece support. The attachment arm and workpiece support can be pivoted in one direction to mount a non-planar workpiece to be printed thereon, and then allowed to return to a rest position to mount a series of screen frames thereon for sequentially printing different images and colors on the workpiece held on the workpiece support, below the screen.

  • Patent number: 5738362
Abstract: A step holding element is insertable in a receiver-type trailer hitch on a vehicle and includes a mounting bar for securing into the trailer hitch receiver, and a step rotatably secured to the mounting bar for movement between open and closed positions. The mounting bar has an opening formed with a post mounted therein and the post has two ends, one of which is secured to the step and the other of which has a locking element secured thereto which is normally held in contact with the top surface and the side surfaces of the mounting bar. To operate the step between open and closed positions the step must be first pushed upwardly, away from the mounting bar and the ground on which the vehicle is resting, so that the locking element will be moved out of contact with the mounting bar to enable the step to be rotated between retracted and useable positions, with respect to the rear of the vehicle on which it is mounted.

  • Patent number: 5722454
Abstract: A fluid flow device has a body which includes an inlet and an outlet with a valve seat therebetween. A valve stem having a valve member thereon is mounted in the body, and the valve member is operably connected to a diaphragm which separates a region within the body into a pair of separate pressure chambers. A fluid passage is formed in the body communicating one pressure chamber with upstream pressure in the inlet, while the other pressure chamber communicates with downstream pressure in the outlet. A pressure differential between the chambers will normally hold the valve member in an open position against the action of a biasing means, until the pressure differential reaches a predetermined amount, whereby the valve member is slowly closed until fluid flow through the device is stopped.
