  • Patent number: 5863255
Abstract: A device for measuring the movement of a ball is a flat pad or a frame defining an opening with one or more magnetic field inducing elements mounted thereon. One or more sensor elements are mounted in the flat pad or the frame, and connected to instrumentation so as to record induced, time-varying current signals from disturbances in a magnetic field by the ball penetrating the field. The device may also be arranged so as to measure the spin characteristics and other vectors of a conductive, charged and/or magnetized golf ball penetrating field. Or, the device may be arranged so as to have no magnetic field inducing elements, whereby the magnetic field of a modified, magnetized golf ball, when passing through an opening, or over a flat pad, induces time varying current signals in at least one sensor element, which can be processed to predict the complete ball flight parameters, i.e., velocity, trajectory and spin.

  • Patent number: 5863129
Abstract: A series of flow control mixing devices used in a mixing chamber in a spray gun, or the like, to more thoroughly mix multi-components in a mixing chamber, consists of three different types of cylindrical mixing elements sealingly held in the chamber. Each of the mixing elements contains a pair of inlets, a central chamber and an outlet, connected together so as to mix entering components therein, and passing these mixed components to the outlet. Two of the types of mixing elements include a mixing reservoir or chamber formed on a top surface thereof. A plurality of second mixing elements are secured over a first or downstream mixing element, and a final or third mixing element is provided upstream of the other elements. The first element includes a spacing member on the lower surface, and all the mixing elements include O-ring seals held in grooves formed on the outer periphery thereof.

  • Patent number: 5861804
Abstract: The present invention provides a complete, easy to use and install security and surveillance system for a personal computer, which is designed to act as a peripheral to the personal computer. The system utilizes a radio frequency device having receiving and transmitting means connected between the serial port of the personal computer and various sensors to input signals to the non-data pins of the serial port whereby software in the personal computer interprets the signals received at the non-data pins to place a call to a pager or cellular phone, or communicate with another computer, produce sound effects, and/or operate video equipment.

  • Patent number: 5860598
Abstract: This invention relates to a device for forming a mist or fog having a convex surface which receives and expands a fluid delivered thereto. The convex surface of the device has a number of circular protrusions spaced peripherally thereon, separated by a number of slots having holes therein. The holes communicate with an inner cylindrical chamber. Suction is produced through the holes when the fluid stream passes over them, to automatically add a further fluid to the fluid being expanded by the device. A cylindrical sleeve surrounds and protects the device. The device is supported in the cylindrical sleeve, either in front of a nozzle by an annular structure, or by a bent tube held in the cylindrical sleeve in front of the device, or in a venturi.

  • Patent number: 5857593
Abstract: A flexible device for efficiently emptying the viscous contents of a flexible, plastic tube having a longitudinal, overlapping, sealed seam. The flexible device is a generally planar, elongated body having a slot of shorter length extending entirely through the body. The slot has a wider entrance and tapers to a narrower exit to allow an embossed, flattened and sealed end of the plastic, flexible, walled tube to be inserted, and to enable the flexible device to be pushed along the plastic, flexible, walled tube and to have the slot of the device stay in position by a spring-like, clamping action of the slot with the knife-like scrapping rear edge, gripping the flattened flexible wall tube.
