Abstract: A rotary feed magazine for a pump action shotgun has circumferentially arranged chambers loaded with shells, the magazine being releasably attached to the shotgun such that the chambers can be successively rotated into alignment with a receiver chamber by a slide action cam actuator mechanism which takes the place of the conventional pump action mechanism of the gun; and when each magazine chamber is aligned with the receiver chamber the slide action mechanism will control successive advancement or feeding of the shells from the magazine chamber under the urging of a plunger. A cam is activated in response to depletion of the shells in each chamber to move into the path of movement of the cam actuated mechanism whereby to impart rotation to the magazine in order to advance the next loaded chamber in succession into alignment with the receiver chamber.

Abstract: A hypodermic needle recapping device is of one-piece construction and comprises a handle in the form of a thin, flat plate provided with a plurality of holes of different sizes for interchangeable use in recapping a needle, each hole being of a slightly larger size than the cap to be replaced on the needle, and a plurality of notches of different sizes on outer edges of the plate are used interchangeably for recapping different sized caps onto a needle.

Abstract: A diaper has an elongated panel made of a flexible absorbent material with laterally spaced fasteners in back-to-back relation at one end of the panel and a complementary fastener at the other end for interchangeable releasable attachment to selected ones of the laterally spaced fasteners according to the direction of folding of the one end to reduce the effective size of the diaper. An extension panel is provided to increase the effective size of the diaper and which extension panel is releasably secured to the laterally spaced fasteners.

Abstract: A convertible carseat/stroller is of the type having a molded plastic shell with lower door panels in the shell and a wheel assembly includes front and rear legs pivotally connected to a common support member within the shell and extensible between a downwardly divergent stroller position beneath the shell and upper retracted position within the shell under the control of a manual release member which is slidable along the support member for the wheel assembly. A handle unit is telescopically mounted with respect to the support member and is retractable into the shell when converted into a carseat. The door panels on the bottom of the shell follow movement of the wheel assembly so as to open in extending the wheel assembly between the shell for use as a stroller and will return to a closed position when the wheel assembly is retracted into the shell.

Abstract: A spare tire carrier is adaptable for use in mounting a tire on a truckbed, van or the like and is made up of a support member having a horizontal mounting tube to support the tire, a locking bar extending through the mounting tube to cooperate with an elongated loding wedge which extends transversely through aligned slots in the tube and through the locking bar, and a padlock extends inwardly from the open end of the mounting tube to lock said locking wedge in position with respect to the mounting tube while being fully protected by the mounting tube from pilfering or theft.

Abstract: A dynamic seal assembly is intended for use as a facial seal between radially inner and outer relatively rotating members having a seal body mounted on a generally L-shaped annular ring, a counterface mounted on the inner of the relatively rotating members with the bearing disposed in journaled relation to the counterface, and the seal body having a sealing lip disposed at an acute angle with respect to the seal body to engage a radial flange on the bearing member and a flexible diaphragm extends radially and outwardly from the seal body to terminate in an outer circumferential sealing portion in sealed engagement with the outer of the relatively rotating members. The bearing member is so disposed with respect to the counterface as to maintain a uniform circumferential band of contact between the sealing lip and flange portion of the counterface notwithstanding axial or radial shifting between the relatively rotating members.

Abstract: A multi-color printing apparatus is specifically adapted for printing designs on clothing by the application of ink to successive silk screens, the apparatus including a pedestal having registration pins for insertion in openings in the silk screen supporting frame, and a clamping plate is hingedly mounted above the supporting frame with a lever arm to force the clamping plate downwardly against the support frame into complete registry with the pins. Lift tabs are also provided to lift the supporting frame away from pins after completion of each printing stage, and a printboard is adjustably mounted on a pivot arm to align the article of clothing with respect to the silk screen.

Abstract: A bicycle seat supporting device is of the type having a shock absorber mounted within an elongated tubular housing which telescopingly receives a lower end of a shaft opposite to the upper seat mounting portion, a roller bearing being positioned to engage a flat surface portion on the shaft to prevent relative rotation between the shaft and housing, and an adjustable locking member effectively renders the shock absorber unit inoperative by preventing longitudinal movement between the shaft and the housing member.

Abstract: An article holder for eyeglasses in which an elongated cord has opposite end portions and means for releasably connecting a cord to each temple bar of a pair of eyeglasses with the cord extending around the head or neck of the wearer. A sleeve is disposed in outer surrounding relation to the cord, the sleeve of a length to cover substantially the entire length of the cord and slidable with respect thereto. An adjusting member is engageable with an intermediate portion of the cord to extend through the sleeve for adjusting the effective length of the cord between a position fitting snugly around the head of the wearer and a position wherein the eyeglasses are loosely suspended from the neck of the wearer. Preferably the cord is composed of elastic material capable of stretching in a lengthwise direction and the sleeve is capable of undergoing expansion and contraction according to adjustments in the effective length of the cord.

Abstract: A leash device has been devised for use by a person in walking or jogging while leaving both hands free and is made up of a belt encircling the jogger's waist, a suspension ring in outer spaced surrounding relation to the belt and flexibly suspended downwardly and away from the belt so as to loosely encircle the hip region, and a leash extends from the ring for attachment to a dog and has an end connector which is slidable around the full circumferential extent of the ring while being free to rotate about its own axis to avoid twisting or snarling of the leash.

Abstract: A liquid-type compass comprises a light-weight thin, flat disk of magnetic material so constructed that it is capable of floating on a liquid surface so as to be movable to orient itself in a North-South direction. A flat support provided for storing the disk when not in use is releasably secured to a support member. The support member is in the form of a small flat card containing survival instructions as well as instructions for use of the compass.

Abstract: A movable loading platform for an elevated loading dock in loading large cargo containers onto and from a vehicle parked alongside the loading dock in which an upper horizontal panel is slidably attached to the dock by a series of plates having elongated channels or slots or insertion of bolts which pass downwardly through the panel, and pneumatic cylinders including a control circuit are positioned at opposite sides of the loading platform for advancing the platform away from the loading dock into flush relationship to the side of the vehicle and in such a way that the platform is self-compensating for any differences in spacing due to misalignment of the side of the truck with respect to the platform.

Abstract: In a vehicle housing with a chassis and ground-engaging wheels suspended therefrom, the improvement of an elongated housing including modular front and rear sections, a top or roof section, and side sections on opposite sides of the housing, each section having inner and outer substantially rigid plastic skin members in closely spaced parallel relation to one another and a lightweight filler material between the skin members, beam members at spaced intervals to one another along the side sections, flanges interconnected along the adjoining peripheral edges of the sections, and a floor section rigidly mounted on top of the chassis with connecting members for rigidly attaching the front rear as well as side sections to outer peripheral edges of the floor section.

Abstract: In well pumping apparatus in which a polished rod is arranged for extension through a stuffing box at the upper end of a wellhead, the stuffing box assembly having a pair of axially spaced bearing assemblies and packing coils positioned between rod guide members at either end of the assembly to guide the polished rod for reciprocal movement along a vertical path through the wellhead. Each rod guide member is composed of an inert material and provided with a liner portion occupying the annular space between an exposed end of the stuffing box and the polished rod in such a way as to retain alignment of the polish rod in its reciprocal movement through the stuffing box. In a modified form, the lowermost liner portion has scraper rings mounted in internal grooves to remove scale build-up on the polished rod, reduce packing wear and minimize leakage.

Abstract: A non-reusable syringe is made up of a hollow barrel with a hypodermic needle in communication with one end of the barrel, and a plunger assembly including a plunger movable in tight-fitting engagement through the interior of the barrel and a plunger shaft which extends axially away from the plunger and is releasably connected to one end of the plunger in such a way that relative rotation of the shaft with respect to the plunger in one direction will cause separation of the shaft from the plunger but reverse rotation will maintain the shaft and plunger in connected relation. A nut or keeper is positioned at the opposite end of the barrel to impart rotation to the shaft in response to axial movement of the shaft through the barrel.

Abstract: An acoustical guitar is made up of a central body section having collapsible wing panels slidably interconnected to opposite sides of the body to form a common sound chamber, and a neck is releasably connected to one end of the body. The interior of the body is reinforced by a combination of truss rods and an adjustable brace member to retain optimum alignment within the body itself and between the body and wing panels.

Abstract: A sterilizing device which is specifically adaptable for use with tonometer tips of the removable type comprises a container for a disinfectant solution and has with an upper edge in surrounding relation to an opening into the interior thereof. A lid is disposed on the upper edge of the container with a plurality of spaced tip-supporting openings which releasably support one of the tonometer tips for downward extension from the lid into the solution in the container.

Abstract: A process has been devised for restoring full-sized innerspring mattresses by removing the end of the mattress cover to expose the coils, inserting resilient blocks of material into the spaces between adjacent rows of coils whereby to extend the full length of the mattress, and reclosing the mattress cover. A special form of resilient block is employed which is of graduated firmness, and an insertion tool greatly facilitates insertion of the blocks for the full length of ther mattress, following which the tool can be removed.

Abstract: A hand-held tiller is adapted for use in loosening and breaking up the soil and is made up of a skid, an elongated handle extending forwardly of the skid with a drill motor at one end of the handle which is drivingly connected into a power transmission drive for operating a crank having a plurality of crank arms and vertically extending tines, the tines being sequentially driven by reciprocation of the crank arms into and out of the soil as the machine is drawn behind the operator.

Abstract: A geometrical structural system is made up of a plurality of nodes and shape-coded connectors extending therebetween, each node having a plurality of outer polygonal elements. The outer edges of each element are bordered by end edges of other elements and each element has an opening therethrough corresponding to the outer side edges of each element. Each opening extends radially into a hollow space centrally of each node. The connectors are elongated and have opposed connecting ends with a cross-sectional configuration corresponding to a cross-sectional configuration of an opening in one of the element faces for insertion therein.
