  • Patent number: 5769595
Abstract: A slip sheet handling apparatus is specifically adaptable for retrofit attachment to a standard lift jack unit and is characterized by having a platen which is pivotally connected to the tines of the jack unit for tilting movement, and a gripper assembly is slidable along the platen to automatically cause upward and downward tilting movement of the platen as the gripper assembly is advanced into engagement with a slip sheet beneath a load and draws the slip sheet onto the platen in transporting the load from one site to another.

  • Patent number: 5743131
Abstract: There is disclosed a tool for connecting a cable fitting to the end of a coaxial cable. The tool is made up of one or more dies with a cavity therein, a carrier chuck which is axially spaced from the die surfaces to support the fitting in relation to the end of the cable, and a handle pivotally mounted to cause axial movement of the carrier chuck. The carrier chuck is pushed toward the die surfaces to axially force the fitting into the die cavity to reduce the circumference of one end of the fitting into a generally conical configuration securely engaging the cable. A radial ratchet mechanism on the handle prevents the carrier chuck from moving away from the die until the fitting has been fully and properly secured to the cable. The dies are specially shaped to have a guiding portion which smoothly and consistently guides the fitting into proper relation to the dies, and a stop limiting portion to prevent the fitting from being forced too far into the die.

  • Patent number: 5732747
Abstract: There is provided a cove molding cover for use in routing and protecting electrical cables and cords along the inside corners of buildings. The cove molding cover assembly includes clips which are attached to one or more of the surfaces defining the corner, and a cover strip which is snapped into place upon the clips. Each of the cover strips has arcuate lips running along its margins, while the clips have circular beads extending from their sides. The beads are insertible into the lips to attach the cover strip to the clips. Because the beads are free to rotate within the arcuate lips, and because the clips and covers strip are flexible, the entire assembly can be flexed to accommodate any variations or irregularities in the angle between the surfaces defining the corner.

  • Patent number: 5715768
Abstract: In trolling assembly for slowing the speed of a boat through the water during trolling operations including a trolling plate which can be positioned in the water behind the boat during trolling operations, the improvement comprising a tailpiece substantially traversing the trolling plate in a vertical direction and extending rearwardly therefrom directionally controlling the boat when the assembly is positioned in the water behind the boat. Preferably, the trolling plate is pivotal about a horizontal axis so that it can be raised and lowered from and into the water, and the tailpiece traverses a central opening in the trolling plate so that the tailpiece can divert water flowing through the opening when the boat is turned in either direction.

  • Patent number: 5713579
Abstract: A radial seal and facial excluder seal are mounted on separate rings but installed in combination so that the excluder seal always maintains sealing engagement with its intended counterface notwithstanding wide axial assembly tolerances between the shaft and bore on which the seals are mounted, the excluder seal also serving to prevent contamination from coming into contact with the radial seal, and the ring on which the excluder seal is mounted serves as a guide for installation of the shaft past the radial seal in such a way as to reduce occurrence of damage to the radial seal as a result of sharp splines or other imperfections on the shaft.

  • Patent number: 5713583
Abstract: A water cart for suspension of a water bucket for use in concrete finishing work employs an elongated open frame oriented substantially horizontally relative to a ground support surface and which extends in a substantially horizontal direction away from a wheel axle at one end toward a handle affixed at an opposite end. A bucket or container is pivotally suspended between the wheel axle and handle from the upper free ends of a generally U-shaped bracket that also serves as a ground support for the cart. Tool supports disposed at the wheel end of the open frame, which are generally cylindrical and adapted to receive and support long-handled work tools. The bucket's intermediate placement on the frame and pivotal suspension from the bracket allow the bucket to remain in a generally upright position, even when the cart is rested on an inclined surface, thus preventing tipping and spillage.

  • Patent number: 5694655
Abstract: A rocking bassinet employs rigid, hoop-shaped frame members which are pivotable about a pair of connectors between a laterally rocking position, a stationary position, and a collapsed, or flattened, storage position. One of the frame members may serve as the handle with free ends pivotal between a ground-engaging position which prevents rocking and a non-ground engaging position which allows lateral rocking of the bassinet. The degree of rocking may be regulated by adjustment of the handle between horizontal and vertical positions. A pliable cloth basket and mattress assembly is detachably engageable around a pair of frame members.

  • Patent number: 5655781
Abstract: A unitized radial and facial seal assembly intended for use between radially inner and outer relatively rotationally and axially movable members includes a facial seal which is disposed between axially spaced, radially extending flanges of a counterface and a retainer to prevent entry of external contaminants, a radial seal mounted on a casing and fixed against relative rotational and axial movement, and a wiper seal on the counterface which is disposed in sealing engagement with the radially inner member. One or more bearing members are disposed on the counterface for conjoint rotation with the radially inner member and cooperate with the wiper seal in maintaining a fixed axial relationship between the counterface and retainer. The relationship is such that the seals that rotate relative to their sealing surfaces are not exposed to axial reciprocation and the seals that undergo axial reciprocation are not exposed to relative rotation with respect to a sealing surface.
