  • Patent number: 6570323
Abstract: The organic thin-film light-emitting device includes a substrate, a plurality of first electrodes arranged parallel on the substrate, an electroluminescent layer made of an organic material and formed on the first electrodes, a plurality of second electrodes formed on the electroluminescent layer, and an electrically insulating barrier wall. The barrier wall includes barrier wall lines disposed at gaps in an electrode pattern of the second electrodes, and barrier wall end lines connected to the barrier wall lines so that the barrier wall lines do not have ant free ends. Thus, peeling-off of the barrier wall lines as a shadow mask at their end is prevented.

  • Patent number: 6568621
Abstract: In a seat belt retractor, a torsion pipe is disposed inside an annular space between a spool and a torsion bar. One end portion of the torsion pipe is connected to pins, and the other portion engages an externally threaded shaft at a locking base to move axially relative to the externally threaded shaft. When the spool rotates relative to the locking base in the webbing withdrawal direction, the torsion bar and the torsion pipe are both twisted and deformed, so that impact energy is absorbed.

  • Patent number: 6568768
Abstract: A brake system 1 of the present invention comprises a brake operating means 2 such as a brake pedal for carrying braking operation, a fluid variable stroke means 3 which variably controls the stroke of the brake operating means 2 by using fluid, and a braking force output means 4 which is actuated by the operation of the brake operating means 2 to produce braking forces. By manipulating the brake operating means 2, the braking force output means 4 performs the braking operation. The traveling rang of the brake operating means 2 i.e. the stroke can be changed variously by the fluid variable stroke means 3 using fluid. Since the stroke of the brake pedal can be changed as mentioned above, a proper pedal stroke can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 6564433
Abstract: A clip for attaching a cover member to cover a groove section includes a base plate attached to a bottom surface of the groove section, a pair of engaging sections projected from the base plate and engaging side engaging sections of the cover member, and an abutting piece section projected from the base plate and having a free end abutting against an inner surface of the cover member to restrain an excessive movement thereof. In the condition that the cover member is attached, a spring force of the free end is applied to the cover member so that friction between the cover member and the engaging sections of the clip at both sides of the trim is effectively increased. Accordingly, the trim can be held in the width direction without loosening.

  • Patent number: 6564553
Abstract: In a braking pressure intensifying master cylinder, as an input shaft (53) travels forwards in a braking maneuver, a control valve (54) is actuated to develop fluid pressure according to the input in a reaction chamber (38) and a pressurized chamber (35). A stepped spool (45) as a part of the control valve 54 travels such that force produced by the fluid pressure and spring force of a spring (51) are balanced, whereby the stepped spool (45) can function as a travel simulator. By changing the pressure receiving areas of the stepped spool and/or changing the spring force of the spring (51), the travel characteristic of the input shaft (53) as the input side can be freely changed independently from the output side, without influence on a master cylinder pressure as the output side of the braking pressure intensifying a master cylinder (1). In addition, the master cylinder pressure can be intensified when necessary with a simple structure.

  • Patent number: 6566618
Abstract: In a circuit breaker, a rotary-operating handle is linked with an opening and closing mechanism via a driving gear so that main circuit contacts can be opened and closed by rotating an opening and closing lever. A vertically moving handle lock lever is arranged between a tip of the opening and closing lever and the driving gear directly coupled to the operating handle, so that when the main circuit contacts are opened after being welded, the lock lever abuts against the driving gear to restrain the operating handle to the vicinity of the ON position, thereby restricting the movement to a contact-open indicating position. Further, an upward-inclined surface is formed in a stopper section located at a tip of the lock lever, so that if the contact welding is not severe, the lock lever can be pushed down to forcibly open the contacts.

  • Patent number: 6563263
Abstract: A multi-colored organic EL device for a flat display includes a transparent substrate, a plurality of phosphor layers arranged on a surface of the substrate as a color conversion filter, a protective layer flatly coated on the phosphor layers, and an organic EL cell formed directly on the protective layer. The protective layer is formed of a coating resin having a curing temperature not to cause deterioration in the fluorescence of the phosphor layers, a glass transition temperature more than 100° C., and surface hardness more than 2H on the pencil hardness. The organic EL cell includes a light-emitting layer for emitting light when carriers are injected therein. The protective layer keeps the phosphor layers intact and can coat flatly over uneven phosphor layers. The protective layer prevents effects of post-coating processes on the phosphor layers, and allows direct formation of the organic EL cell on the protective layer.

  • Patent number: 6562016
Abstract: A paper diaper using an water-absorbing polymer is superior in absorbency/water-retaining performance to a cloth diaper, but it has the drawback that it generates garbage and is expensive. An water-absorbing pad is formed by allowing an water-absorbing polymer which is dispersed, dissolved or melted or the crosslinks of which are broken in an electrolytic aqueous solution to be retained by a water soluble material. An water-absorbing product is produced by interposing the water-absorbing pad thus formed between sheets of cloth or other materials. The water-absorbing pad secured within the product is dissolved when washed with an electrolytic aqueous solution, and the product itself is reusable.
