  • Patent number: 4491377
Abstract: Disclosed is a mounting housing for leadless chip carriers for use on burn-in boards, circuit boards and the like. The housing includes an insulating base support containing a plurality of electrically conductive axially elongated bodies extending therethrough arranged to define a rectangular cavity in a plane parallel with the first major face of the base support. The ends of the axially elongated bodies defining the cavity have edges inclined inwardly toward the cavity and edges inclined outwardly from the cavity. A spreader mounted for reciprocal movement axially with respect the elongated bodies has an inclined surface mating with the outwardly inclined edges of the elongated bodies so that movement of the spreader moves the inwardly inclined edges outwardly to permit insertion of a leadless chip carrier within the cavity.

  • Patent number: 4489647
Abstract: Food frying and dispensing apparatus is disclosed which is housed in a supporting cabinet and includes a device for holding a supply of cooking oil and a heating device for maintaining the temperature of the cooking oil sufficiently high for cooking successive batches of food products introduced into the oil by a food support basket. A fan assembly exhausts air through the top of the cabinet. A derated precipitator, a charcoal filter, a fragrance holding apparatus and an ozone generator are positioned upstream of the fan assembly and in the path of air flow to eliminate any smoke or odor produced within the apparatus prior to discharge of the air from the cabinet. Food handling apparatus pivotally positions the food support basket in three separate and distinct positions with the three positions being in the cooking oil in a "cook" position, out of the oil in a food product "dispense" position and out of the oil in a "ready" position.

  • Patent number: 4463825
Abstract: Method and apparatus for the generation of low frequency acoustic energy such as may be employed in carrying out seismic surveys in marine environment. In imparting an acoustic energy pulse into a body of water, a planar electroacoustic transducer having parallel transducer plates is employed. The transducer plates have conforming electrical conductive paths. An impulse of opposed current flow is applied to the conductive paths to produce an electromagnetic field between the conforming paths which forces the transducer plates apart, generating an acoustic impulse having a center band frequency of less than 350 hertz. The wave length of the acoustic impulse at this frequency is less than twice the major planar axis of the transducer. The conductive paths may be formed of elongated conductors which are oblong in cross section and cover most of the radiating surface of the transducer.
