  • Patent number: 7588274
Abstract: A tool for lifting and carrying a building block includes a body having a first end adapted to engage an inner building block wall. A nose extends from an upper portion of the first end and is adapted to engage an upper surface of the building block. First and second elongated legs extend away from the first end in angular relation to one another. A foot is pivotally connected to a free end of the second leg, and has a generally parallel pad portion configured to engage an opposite inner wall of the building block. Upon exerting a lifting force on a handle portion of the first leg, the first end of the body and the foot pad engage and exert opposing forces to opposite inner walls of the building block cell, enabling the building block to be lifted by the tool.

  • Patent number: 7584582
Abstract: An adhesive bonded attachment assembly is provided for supporting and retaining an insulation blanket on a substrate such as aircraft engine nacelle or the like. The attachment assembly includes a stud attachment having a base for adhesive bonded affixation to the nacelle substrate and a fastener element such as a threaded stud extending from the base at least partially into a grommet-lined mounting port formed in the insulation blanket. A radially enlarged, insulated cap fastener is secured to the fastener element to retain the insulation blanket on the nacelle substrate in a manner shielding surrounding structures and components from heat generated during engine operation. The insulated cap fastener projects radially beyond the associated grommet for improved heat-shielding of the adhesive bonded stud attachment, thereby safeguarding against debonding of the attachment base in response to high temperature exposure.

  • Patent number: 7574899
Abstract: A contaminant detector disposed within a base fluid for detecting the presence of a contaminating fluid includes a conductive core, a conductive sensor probe extending from the core in non-conductive relation, and a circuit board within the core. The circuit board is electrically connected to the sensor probe and electrically insulated from the core. Electrical power applied to the core creates a closed field loop for measuring the localized capacitance of the base fluid. When sufficient contaminating fluid exists in the base fluid to change the localized capacitance, an alarm is sounded to indicate the presence of the contaminating fluid.

  • Patent number: 7576659
Abstract: A smoke detector system having a base unit and multiple satellite units is provided. The base unit detects various hazards, i.e., smoke or carbon monoxide, and broadcasts a radio frequency signal to activate warning devices on the various satellite units. The satellite units include a radio frequency receiver to receive the signal broadcasted by the base unit. The warning devices include a laser cannon, a speaker, a strobe light, and a wireless camera separately or in combination with other warning devices. Alternatively, each base unit may include one or more of the warning devices and a radio frequency receiver, and each satellite unit may include the detection devices and a radio frequency transmitter. In this way, each device in the system may activate warning devices in each other device in the system when a hazard is detected.

  • Patent number: 7571717
Abstract: A turbocharger system for an engine includes first and second turbochargers, having air intake impellers which rotate in opposite directions. This enables the first and second turbochargers to be mounted on opposite sides of an engine in a symmetrical fashion, resulting in an aesthetically pleasing arrangement as well as air intake and exhaust piping being of the generally same length and configuration to optimize engine performance.

  • Patent number: 7565869
Abstract: A table includes first and second table sides where each table side has a vertical plane. The table also includes upper and lower horizontal levels. There are at least two seating areas on the first table side, wherein an edge of the lower level at each seating area is substantially recessed from the first table side vertical plane, and at least two non-seating areas on the second table side, wherein the edge of the lower level at each non-seating area extends substantially to the second table side vertical plane. The lower level is movable to add a seating area to one of the first and second table sides and add a non-seating area to the other of the first and second table sides.

  • Patent number: 7561735
Abstract: A color matching and coordinating reference system for use by manufacturers and consumers of goods includes assigning a unique identification code for each of a plurality of colors. The identification code includes color family indicia, color value indicia, and color selector device indicia. Preferably, each color is assigned a unique color name as well. Manufacturers utilizing the system label or otherwise associate each good with the identification code for each color used therewith to assist the consumer in matching and coordinating colors. Color selector devices and tables can be used by the consumer or manufacturer in finding matching colors or coordinating/complimentary color combinations.

  • Patent number: 7556020
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for starting an internal combustion engine using a starting device, an ignition spark from a spark plug of an internal combustion engine being controllable by the starting device as a function of the speed of the crankshaft, a progressive rise of the advance of the ignition angle before top dead center already being performed as a function of the crankshaft speed at low speeds below the idle speed, which is followed at rising crankshaft speed by a sudden drop of the advance of the ignition angle to a plateau of the idle speed range.
