Abstract: A vascular access needle assembly is provided. The needle assembly includes a housing interconnected with a needle. The housing and the needle have slots along their lengths which are aligned to form a slot extending along the entire needle assembly. A sheath interconnected with the needle extends partially about the needle and includes a slot. The vascular access needle, with the needle point exposed and needle slot closed, can be inserted into the blood vessel of a subject and a guide wire can be inserted into the blood vessel through the needle assembly. The sheath is then moved to cover the needle point and to expose the needle slot so that the guide wire can be lifted through the needle, sheath and housing slots and the vascular access needle assembly removed, leaving the guide wire in the subject. The device can also be used as a wire introducer for catheters.

Abstract: The present invention relates to improved cultivars, varieties, lines or plants of annual medics (Medicago genus) wherein the majority of seed pods, upon reaching maturity, remain attached to their respective pedicels. In particular, the present invention relates to improved cultivars, varieties, lines or plants of annual medics (Medicago genus), having a mutant form of the gene for pod shedding, thereby resulting in a “pod holding” trait. The invention also extends to methods for isolating such plants. A yet further aspect of the invention relates to a method of transferring the “pod holding” trait from an annual medic having this trait to another annual medic of the genus Medicago by a process of controlled cross-breeding. A still further aspect of the invention relates to a method of obtaining plants having the “pod holding” trait from a population of annual medics of the genus Medicago.

Abstract: Grouping assembly of coin validation and return/payment mechanisms, in such a way that said compact assembly is useful to be included in automatic vending machines and especially recreative prize machines. In this way the assembly (1) comprises a coin selector (2) with a top duct (3) for conveying the coins from the coin slot of the machine to the selector (2), some deposit tubes (4) of the coins for payment, a remover (5) of the coins from the deposit tubes (4), a coin separator (9) for separating the coins towards two money boxes (10) and (11) and a lifting mechanism (7) for conveying the coins to be returned/paid to the receiving box of the machine connected to a small top duct (8) arranged close to the top duct (3) for conveying the coins to the coin slot of the machine to the selector (2).
Abstract: A bracket system for attaching a headboard to a bed foundation. The bracket system includes a foundation bracket affixed to the bed foundation and a slide bracket affixed to the headboard. Each of the brackets is generally U-shaped having a pair of side plates extending outwardly therefrom. The dimensions and spacing of the side plates enables one bracket to interfit or nest within the other bracket. A securing device passes through both the foundation bracket and the slide bracket to secure the brackets together and affix the headboard to the bed foundation. In an alternate embodiment, the foundation brackets have a lower plate and side plates extending upwardly therefrom and are affixed to the head corners of the bed foundation. The slide bracket is affixed to the headboard and then to the directly to the bed foundation through the foundation bracket. In a further embodiment, the foundation bracket is eliminated.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a stent for introduction into a hollow organ, in particular the gastrointestinal tract, of a human or animal patient, which brings about vacuum sealing of leaks, such as anastomosis insufficiencies, in the hollow organ.
Abstract: A hatch-actuating mechanism, particularly for aircraft landing gear. The mechanism includes a lateral closing panel (1) and a secondary closing panel (4) articulated to one another. A lateral pivoting fitting (5) is joined to the lateral panel (1) and pivots about a fixed point on the structure (7). A secondary pivoting fitting (8) is joined to the secondary panel (4). A lateral actuating cylinder (10) controls the movement of the lateral panel. An intermediate actuating cylinder controls the movement of the secondary panel, the intermediate actuating cylinder (13) being actuatable independently from the lateral actuating cylinder (10).

Abstract: Reinforced cover for gaps in an aerodynamic contour of a vehicle, with a first attachment section 1a attachable to a structural element 2, 5 of the vehicle 11, on a first axial plane I; a second elastic section 1c which covers a gap 3 which is located between a fixed part 5 and a moving part 6, 12 of the vehicle 11, and provided with a low-friction coating 8 on its inner surface 1e, an outer surface 1k with a fiberglass layer 7a; a main internal body 9 of an elastic material, a flexible transition section 1g between the first and the second section, 1a, 1c; the outer surface 1k of the second section 1c flushing with the outer surface 5a and extending towards the free end 1d as a continuation of the outer surface 5a of the fixed part 5.
Abstract: A reversible mounting bracket for mounting an article such as a loudspeaker is disclosed. The reversible mounting bracket in a first configuration is adapted to mount the article substantially flush to an upright mounting surface and in a second configuration, wherein the mounting bracket is reversed in orientation with respect to the article, the mounting bracket is adapted to mount the article to a mounting member.
Abstract: The present invention refers to a pharmaceutical formulation characterized in that it includes mainly clobetasolpropionate, minoxidil and 11 alpha hydroxyprogesterone as main active principles, besides other excipients, vitamins and/or minerals, and to its use in the treatment of skin diseases, mainly in the symptomatic treatment of psoriasis.
Abstract: A bed frame comprising T shaped side rails provide support for a box spring and mattress. A leg assembly is affixed to the bed frame and is affixed to the side rail and to the cross rails for better strength of connection. The use of T-shaped side rails provides more resistance to twisting and bowing and thereby more resistant to damage a leg or other structural component of the bed frame from moving the bed frame across the floor. The use of the T-shape cross section side rails enables the overall bed frame to support more weight with less deflection than the convention L-shaped side rails. There are also headboard and footboard brackets that take advantage of the greater height of the vertical flange of the side rail to have affixation means, such as rivets, that are further spaced apart to provide a more rigid connection between the brackets and the side rails.
